This is the time I have used U.S.A. TECH. My session went really well. The Tech was pleasant and explained everything clearly. So this rating is clearly and specifically for Joelle L., the Tech who worked on my computer. If she represents the profile of U.S.A. TECH tech agents, I am looking forward to my next visit. (Well, you understand, not really. If I visit again, it will mean something else had gone wrong with the computer!) NOW ON TO COMMENTS ABOUT IOLO and their "manhandling" of customers. I was not able to speak clearly with even one System Mechanic representative. Not one! It was as if I had come face to face with the three-headed dog, Cerberus! Here is a little example of my own. I called System Mechanic for a refund for the support program. They had had wrestled me in over 45 minutes to get me to buy the whole program. Because if I bought the big program I would get the smaller program I was considering for free. Who cares, I thought at that point. I want to try to the program and they have a return policy. But they weren't having it when I did call back to return the program for a refund. The agent at that time told me that the recorded chats I had had with the the previous agent would have to be reviewed. This call lasted about an hour. I thought we were waiting for the chat to be reviewed. While I was on that call, the agent tried to sell me a service to protect my privacy because she said, many people were complaining about a lack of privacy on their computers. It was only $139 a year. The program I had just bought was $179. I mentioned to the agent that I assumed such a protection would have been included in the original purchase, not as a $139. "after thought." I hung up since obviously no review of my chat sessions were even being thought about. Today, I used the U.S.A. TECH service which is part of my $178. purchase. It went smoothly, the tech was wonderful. AND she left me a number so I could contact them directly without having to go through System Mechanic and their hungry sales people. On Friday I received a new email about a new version of System Mechanic Ultimate defense, I thought okay let's upgrade and see what the difference is from old to new, that always comes with a price initial headaches with certain features like real time protection being turned off by its self. I had to constantly call in for technical support to resolve the issue, getting to the right individual was a challenge, try this try that, nothing seemed to work. Finally, after countless calls and remote sessions, Jeffrey remotely said okay lets take care of your issue I am going to give you the old version. And presto. I hate to say this but being persistent pays off you get the right person who understand your frustration and says okay lets go ahead and fix it. I am a creature of habit I like old things to run as I see fit, going forward isn't a bad thing but when software doesn't work to it's fullest potential right from the beginning, it needs to be re evaluated before being released. I love system mechanic was introduced to it in 2013, and it has been a champ ever since. Customer service is outstanding, you get what you pay for these days. Honestly, these days we seem to have gotten to take care of our computers. While most of us have preferred to buy newer computers, it sometimes can be the little things that can make an old computer feel refreshed and running like new. Of course, it cannot be done with security and antivirus software alone. You do also need to get utility software to help fix the hard drives and make sure your hardware runs smoothly without faults. For me, I did have the software Win Cleaner which did most of the job right, but it didn't safeguard my computer to the fullest. So, I had to buy a replacement. Of course, I had heard about the software System Mechanic Pro. I had heard that it is a good software that does the job well. But honestly, the software has helped my computer to the greatest extent possible. It protected my PC from several stop codes I had received from Windows 10. Thankfully, my computer is back up & running to the best detail. I'd say it is the best in the market! The Customer Service Representative (last night) was gracious and very helpful. I stupidly turned down his offer for him to "remotely" install my software. So, .. instead of allowing the 1st tech to remotely install my recently purchased software, ... that next afternoon, I called again and was given to a DIFFERENT Customer Service Representative and this latter service rep quickly installed the software I purchased last night. Both C.S.Rep.'s were patient, informative and very, very smart. The 1st C.S.Rep. was smart on software repurchasing details, ... and the 2nd (this afternoon's c.s.rep.) quickly picked up where last nights c.s.rep. ended (as I stupidly requested). The 2nd rep was extremely smart, quick and skilled when gathering purchase information from last night and also skilled in installing the purchased software quickly and smoothly. US Tech has never failed to promptly correct whatever crazy thing has happened to my computer. In the past, I had trouble understanding some of the folks who took my calls. Some have been reading from a script because my comments back to them were not addressed and they went right back to what they were saying as opposed to answering my comment. That has not happened recently but it got old fast. A few things get me now, however.... every call involves an attempt to add to the services I am already paying for. The folks are nice, but it gets annoying to constantly be hit with yet another service I could add. It starts to get murky as to what will do what, when the service starts, when it now runs to, what package deals are available, combining what I have with what I could get. I know you need to make money. But enough already. read more

I would highly recommend Iolo to anyone. Especially anyone who does not understand computers, which is my problem. They always give good quality service, they are friendly, patient and professional. I really like that they can take over my computer and I just have to sit back and watch them fix my problems. I am sure that I have more than gotten my monies worth out of my subscription. When my service contract comes up, I will renew it again. I have used other services like Iolo and they have failed miserably. With these other companies, my wait-time was long, often times I could not understand the technicians and ended up spending long hours on the computer. In some cases, most of the time was spent asking them to repeat what they just said, as I could not understand them because of their accents. I have not had this problem with Iolo. read more

I've read the five negative post by other reviewers and obviously they've had their on personal experiences. I also saw the stand-alone one 5-Star review. In my own case I suppose I was extremely fortunate. The technician who called me, then gained access into my computer was apparently very experienced in his profession. He cleared up my initial problem, then as I brought up new ones that I remembered, he went one, by one and fixing each of them. He spent over 42-minutes with me until I was totally satisfied. SO..... how could I but give USTechSupport anything but a positive review. Although I do not look forward to have anymore computer problems (knowing the day IS coming), I just hope I am fortunate again and get the same technician. HE WAS GREAT!! read more

There is an issue with the program install blocking/disrupting some streaming services ie: FOX business. The fix is, disable Privacy Guardian, white list the site, clear the cache, cookies and history for each affected browser, then redo the credentials for the stream ie DirecTV provider info in my case. Tech support was attentive and understanding along with being appreciative for my input and trouble shooting... hey, it's what I've been doing for over30 years ! (since the Mac in 84... man time fly's) On another note I have been using this product for over 6 years mainly for the System Mechanic side of it, There have been some issues over the years as expected with any windows software, but they continue to update. read more

I have used IOLO tech spt for several years. The US Tech Spt team was the best experience I have known. James was extremely knowledgeable in both his product and the Windows products. He updated me to windows 11 and helped me through it on two different occasions. James will be my goto man going forward. Thank you James from Jacksonville. I do not like the super aggressive sales team. It is such a turnoff that I tried to quit the tech support. Not having the capability to turn off the tech support subscription service is a travesty. I have used System Mechanic for years and believe that it has extended the life of my laptops. While friends are have replaced their laptops four or five times I am only on my second laptop in 12 years..and even then only into year 2 of this new one. The program is great so long as you use it properly. At the end of every session I scan my system with System Mechanic and leave it clean for my next start up. Yes the constant pressure from tech support when you have to contact them is off putting but I just tell them upfront, "please do not offer me any products in our interaction today, I purchase your product with no persuasion" This typically works. read more

I LOVED MaryAnn!!!! My computer was not co-operating. totally black could not get it to wake up. I needed to down load photos from my camera to the computer and couldn't figure out what to do. She was very thorough in what to do. Gave me time to write down what I needed to do, so I could remember. She was very patient and kind. I am a elder, basically clueless with this computer stuff. I got great advice from TechSupport about which of their services I most needed, and she set me up for a call from a technician. We worked together for a few hours on Friday but I wasn't able to understand much of what he was doing. Today, Tuesday, another tech called and after my lengthy and painfully awkward explanation, as soon as he got the idea of what I needed, he just dug into the entrails of my computer and put everything in logical and accessible order. I'd been told my several knowledgeable people that this could never be done, so surely there has been a small genius inside that little box for a number of hours. He did it!!!! read more

I needed some info re updating the antivirus profile as well as a problem with false notifications that would not stop. Best darned support people I have dealt with in many years! Callback from the support team who promptly went to work to update. Small glitch, maybe my new computer, but we got back online and Earvin fixed it all. I will not leave Iolo ever again. They are fast, funny, VERY patient with seniors who did not keep up with computer knowledge, and very knowledgeable about it all. Love the new look of the System Mechanic! I have to say the customer service was absolutely outstanding - the technician spent several hours helping me to remove a competitor's invasive anti-virus and replacing it with System Mechanic (the newest version) advising me in layman's terms what he was doing at every step. He went above and beyond my expectations in dealing with several tricky OS bugs that were also part of the problems my laptop was suddenly exhibiting. The results are a dramatically faster computer that behaves like it did when it was new and saved me from chucking it across the room and going and buying a new one. I really like this SMU app. Download and installation was quite simple and straightforward. From the second I started the app, it began running an analysis of my computer and guess who had 3155 issues on her laptop. A lot of junk files and low memory issues, but thanks to this great tool from Iolo, I was able to get rid of those issues with no stress and now my PC is fully optimized, all with the trial service. I recommend it to everyone who owns a computer and doesn't really know much about these things. Who knows, I just might upgrade it. read more
