I just moved to Richmond and I'm about a mile away from Kobop and I almost regret trying them today…read morebecause I don't know how I'll resist coming all of the time! I was drawn in by a social media post advertising their Tuesday special, the Bulgogi Crunchwrap. I thought it would be a delightful ode to the OG but that the resemblance would be in appearance only. Boy was I wrong. My first bite flooded me with memories of begging my mom to stop at Taco Bell on my way home from high school just so I could have a crunchwrap. In the almost 30 years (damn) since then I've tried to eat it a couple of times but beyond the ick the quality of ingredients gives me, the flavor disappointed more each time. The Kobop version is an elevated take that produces the same meaty, crunchy, crispy, and creamy mouth feel while exponentially enhancing the flavor with Bulgogi beef and a zippy sauce. My only concern is that it's so big that I'm taking half home and with shredded lettuce inside it won't reheat well. Looks like there's a second dinner instore for me. Beyond this delightful experience, I also couldn't resist trying the Snack Pack, a happy hour treat including a taco, 3 dumplings, and Nashville fries for $9. It was an easy way to sample several menu items without an overwhelming bill. The Väsen bartenders were lovely, the kitchen staff was warm, and if I were a drinker, the beers look fantastic. Can't wait to come back with friends!

We stopped by for drinks and dinner and were immediately impressed by the setup. Located inside Väsen, the food operation has a cool food truck-style pickup window at the back of the brewery when your pager goes off (order at the bar). It's casual, efficient, and adds to the fun atmosphere. Most importantly, the food was absolutely exceptional. Every dish we tried delivered huge flavor and was packed with personality. This is the kind of food that makes you stop mid-conversation and comment on how good it is. The bar service was equally impressive. We placed our order through the bartender, and despite it being a Tuesday evening, there was plenty of staff on hand. Multiple team members checked on us throughout our visit, and every interaction was friendly, welcoming, and genuine. What really stood out was the sense of community. Although it's a relatively new addition to the Forest Hill area, it's already clear that locals have embraced it. They even have branded merchandise and cycling gloves for sale, and during our visit we watched several cyclists roll up, hop off their road bikes, and come inside still wearing their cycling gear. It felt like a true neighborhood gathering spot. Places like this give a neighborhood character, and Kobop Korean feels like something special. Outstanding food, great service, a fun atmosphere, and strong local roots. We'll absolutely be back.

I ordered the Queso Birria tacos and a Pastor burrito just to try a couple different things . They give you a little buzzer just like cheesecake factory so that you're not standing out there in the cold so that was nice. When the buzzer filing went off, I was excited to see what was in the box . When I popped it open and looked at those birria tacos it was beautiful. Tortillas, fried to perfection, plenty of meat and cheese and onions. They even threw in some grilled onions and a seared jalapeño along with two different salsa to try. The consome was very tasty. Had nice color and loaded. The meat was marinated to perfection and super tender. The pastor burrito was really good too. It came with the side of grilled onions and a fresh jalapeño seared. The pastor was super tender and goood . The one thing I would say we could do better is put up a menu so we know how much things cost. You're just ordering off pictures. So I didn't really care for that. They do have a couple of chalkboards with daily specials too, so you never know what you're gonna get . I'll definitely make my way down the road to some of the other taco trucks nearby but I'll say this was a great start for Hull St FYI they do take debit credit or cash, of course

I am very disappointed in their customer service. The lady with gages who takes your order is the most unprofessional, non friendly person I have ever ordered from... to the point where I would fire her if I were her manager. If you are going to work in the food industry, treat your customers with respect, THEN maybe you will get a tip. She needs to be fired. Multiple occasions where she acted like this. read more
