This is actually a review of their monthly parking. As expensive as it is, it's actually one of the cheaper options in the financial district, *and* they valet it for you! I'm a street parker for life, but my partner has been using their services for almost a year now, so if you absolutely must shell out the dough for garage parking, I recommend these guys. read more

Great hotel. A bit pricey but the location is convenient, the concierge is welcoming, the bar and restaurant are terrific, and the room was spacious with a comfortable king bed. Can't ask for more in Boston. read more

A little more corporate than I was hoping, but overall the place is solid, clean and spacious. Our corner suite had huge floor to ceiling windows and a decent panoramic view of the "waterfront". Valet service was quick and friendly. The bar downstairs is a busy night spot. The bathroom was spotless and the bathtub would have been better if it was a jacuzzi. read more

I'm so glad I stayed here. The location is outstanding!! It's a 5 minute walk to the Silver Line station and a 10 minute walk to the North End and Quincy Market. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We even got a free upgrade to a larger room. Score! read more

Stopped to have a drink Saturday night while Visiting the lovely town of Boston! We knew it'd be pricey BUT $8.50 for a Bud light bottle? Never again! We went to dinner at the Chart house and it was significantly less at a high end restaurant! read more

After traveling from San Francisco, I stayed here for one night before catching the Fast Ferry to Provincetown. Not a bad experience, but nothing remarkable either. The hotel is fairly new and the rooms are big with great bathrooms. The hotel itself is also big, so if you're looking for a quaint Boston experience, this is not the place to stay. The Intercontinental has more of a mini-Las Vegas vibe (minus the slot machines and waitresses with giant implants). The location is nice also...on the water with some good views. Two different restaurants to choose from...one French and one Sushi. (Please see my next posting to read about my horrible exerience at the French restaurant, Miel. Overall, I would have given the Intercontinental four stars, but the service was only so-so. There was only one front desk attendant checking people in on a Saturday afternoon, so I had to wait just a little too long. I asked the conierge about a restaurant that a friend had recommended. He turned around, grabbed a map, circled the spot and handed it to me. I had to actually ask him if he would help me with the directions. And last, the service at the restaurant, Miel, was awful. Miel night be independently owned, but it is still a reflection upon the hotel. Nothing horrible to report about the Intercontinental, but they have an opportunity to refine things a little. read more

Everything about this hotel is fantastic. It's close to the subway station and numerous outstanding restaurants and sites. We had a great view of the harbor from our room, and the staff members were helpful and highly professional. We stayed at the club level and the breakfasts were fabulous and evening wine and hors d'oeuvres were scrumptious. The room was spotless and well appointed. Everything about our experience at the InterContinental in Boston was perfect. read more

We stayed at this hotel from Friday to Sunday and the experience was great. The location is excellent - less than a 10 minute walk to many tourist attractions and right on the harbor. Check in was a breeze and the service was great. Looking forward to staying here again. read more

A big thank you to Abby and the staff for making my second stay at the Intercontinental wonderful. My faith is restored :) Everything from the room to the breakfast were all first class! After the last stay I would definitely stay here again. read more

Booked a long Presidents Day weekend through Priceline via "name your price" and got the Intercontinental at a great price. Hotel was as you would expect from an Intercontinental. Great location, well appointed and luxurious room (bathroom was fantastic in particular), all the staff were very polite and courteous. We stopped off in the bar for a quick drink after going out to dinner one evening as it was really buzzing - they had a singer / band that really reminded me of the wedding singer at the end of the Hangover movie! Great lychee martini as well (although too strong for my g/f!). Great hotel. read more

This hotel is Fantastic in every way. I went there to attend a gorgeous over the top photography exhibition by photographer Jonathan Ressler. It was amazing and my hope is that I go back to this hotel for other incredible events just like the one for Jonathan Ressler Photographer. read more

We had a great stay at the Intercontinental. We live in Boston, but spent a night there to get away without going far. The room was impeccable, the food was good, and the bed was comfortable. Best was the service - everyone who worked at the hotel was so nice and really helped make it a great stay. read more

The hotel is beautiful. Convenient to highways for easy access. Checking in was a breeze. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We didn't need help with our bag but someone was there to offer. The room itself was pretty big for Boston standards. There were bathrobes and slippers. The bed was comfortable. There is a mini bar, I got a beer out of it, tasted skunked, looked at the date, it had expired. When we were going out to dinner I took it down and showed the concierge, and he made sure I didn't get charged for it, and I didn't. The overall atmosphere in the bar is a happening upbeat area, but the rooms and hallways are quiet to allow you to sleep. I stay in Boston often and would definitely stay here again. read more

Beautiful hotel in a convenient Seaport location! The staff was very professional, the rooms were large and very comfortable and I love the upgrade to a Jr. Suite - thank you! read more

I went for a Swedish couples massage and the staff and hotel was great! Locker rooms have steam rooms and a de-stress spray in the showers.

Rooms - Beautiful and spacious room but it was really noisy at night and walls are paper thin. I didn't get any sleep at all. They charged me a full night extra for late check-out even though they said it's complimentary. Staff & service - Staff were not attentive at all for a 5 star hotel. You want to ask them, are you here to service customers or just look good? Tried to get someone to hail a cab. He saw but turned his back and started talking to his colleague like that person was his long lost friend. Disappointing. Price - Very expensive and had been charged 3x for 1 night stay. I had to complain between the credit card company and then to the hotel a few times before anyone would fix the problem. Since it took 3 months to fix, I had to pay over $2500 for no reason. Even though they verify your charges when you checkout, they still seem to somehow mess up the billing after you've already checkout! No apologies were given and I only received an attitude of inconvenience to them. In the end, I was still over-charged a couple of hundreds of dollars for services not rendered. Not happy. I've never had this problem at Starwood hotels, Four Seasons, Loews or Hyatt. Health club - Decent and lots of equipment. Smells like chlorine during the entire workout. Food - Even thought they tell you they have 2 restaurants on site, those options were not available for dinner. We ended up eating at the bar (really expensive). Bottom-line - Never staying here again given all the options you have in the Boston area for 5 star hotels. I will remember next time. read more

Large rooms. Once you get used to Vegas hotels, it really hard to find a hotel that is up to your standards. InterContinental Boston has the view, class and comfort. Oh! and the location is great, adjacent to the Northend, Backbay everything! read more

If hotel emergency preparedness is important when you book a hotel, Intercontinental flunked anyone's test on August 21, 2010. An electrical fire releasing toxic fumes led to emergency evacuation at 2:00am. From then to 4:30am, 800 to 1000 guests stood outside, barefoot in bathrobes, surrounded by Boston firefighters and police. After 4:30am, guests were sent to Boston Harbor Hotel, whose 3rd shift staff provided sheets, bottled water and breakfast to refugees from Intercontinental Boston. Intercontinental staff were totally absent for 7 1/2 hours after the fire. Intercontinental Boston's response was cold, a mere refund of that night's stay. Shame on Intercontinental for no emergency preparedness. Bravo Boston Harbor Hotel 3rd shift for humanitarian treatment of another hotel's disaster!!! read more

In town, high end upgraded room with separate tub and shower in the bathroom, available swimming pool and work out area and robes in the room. I only got to stay one night on the way out of town on business, but it was nice. Relatively quiet even with being off a busy street. The staff is friendly and helpful. Comfortable beds and good sized TVs. Definitely would come back. Enjoy Boston! read more

I had the pleasure of staying here recently and let me tell you this is a nice hotel. I've stayed in my share of Boston hotels and this is one of my favorites. The bathroom was HUGE and so clean. It had a dream soaking tub and large shower. The bathroom was really the stuff dreams are made of. The bed could have been a little more comfortable. It was very firm. The wakeup call was prompt and every person I worked with was polite and helpful. read more

Just returned from a very nice weekend stay at the Intercontinental. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even sent us a free bottle of champagne for "our anniversary" (it was my birthday, but close enough). They were always kind enough to offer restaurant reservations or give us directions on how to get around. We didn't try the spa or the restaurants in the hotel. The location of the hotel is a pretty good one, and the harbor is a picturesque location that is fairly close to restaurants, public transportation, the Aquarium, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. We ended up with a street view room rather than a water view room, but it was still very nice. read more

I stayed here in December 2014. This place is beautiful! The rooms are spacious, very well kept and the service from the valet to room service was extraordinaire. The view of the city was not the best but all else deserves five stars!! read more

Love everything about this hotel! Beautiful, luxurious rooms, great bars and ballroom event space! I love the outdoor bar on the waterfront in the summer time - some of the best sangria in town. I also love the indoor bar, Rumba - gorgeous ambiance, comfy seating, great drinks. They also have super friendly staff and concierge. I've always had great experiences at this hotel when staying, dining or lounging! read more

I like it! Only complaint was the first night - we had noisy neighbors. The walls seem a bit thin but apparently they checked out because I don't hear them anymore. Beautiful city view! Beautiful efficient gym with necessities- I would love a leg press and a squat rack but you can't have everything. Pool looks beautiful - haven't been in yet. I am debating on a spa treatment so we'll see. Nice downstairs area with sitting - great for reading! We went to Miel last night for just dessert - great cappuccino and I had the Chocolate Fondant which was excellent! Excited to try a drink at the Rumba later tonight and brunch at Miel on Saturday. Beautiful hotel! read more

This is a halfer review, I need to start packing, leaving tomorrow. I love the location of the hotel and if your staying here during halloween this is the place to be. We searched halloween for Boston and the Intercontinental had top reviews. I also love that everything is at a touch of a button. I love the reading light that is bendy, the night stand light and the recessed lighting in the headboard. I also love the on and off button for the hallway lamp. So did anyone see the Oprah show with the pot pies from cape cod, well I went. This is how great the hotel is... they came to our room picked up the pie warmed it and brought it back on a tray with to forks napkins and 2 plate!. We had to sign something because we were bringing outside food in, but no biggy. read more

Excellent hotel: clean, impeccable service, great food, and spacious rooms.

I hope one day to actually book a room here, but for now I just have to appreciate its outdoor patio/view, bar, lobby & bathroom. Drinks are overpriced but the facilities/scenes are top-notch! read more

The going room rate around $250 isn't horrible. The upfront charge of $150 a night for 'incidentals' however is ludicrous. I can understand the need to have a CC on file for charges... but this feels like a sketchy way for IHG to collect several thousand dollars a night to turn a profit on before refunding something you haven't asked for. The room and bath were spacious, and everything is clean, but Ive had just as nice at half the rate. Or less. The decor is straight off page 14 of the Bland and Outdated Hotel Rooms Supply Catalog. The babypoo green couuch was especially bilious, but at least it was a break from dirty gold, dull taupe and brown. The use of a top and bottom sheet would have been greatly apprecated. Simple amenities like a luggage stand are absent. Make absolutely sure you pack chargers with wallplugs, because unlike the super8, there isn't 1 bloody USB in the entire room . Nope, not even on the TV (the only appointment in the room that looks like it was made in this decade. Don't plan on storing so much as a bottle of insulin in the minifridge. Its packed to the gills and my wallet puckers to contemplate the cost of a Snickers bar. This stay is disappointing to say the least. My husband and I are in search of better accomodations. If ever asked i'll recommend my friends stay anywhere else. read more

We had a great stay here on a weekend getaway to Boston. Very easy to get here from the airport via the Silver Line. Boston as a whole is an easy walk (Boston Common, Fanueil Hall), a leisurely if slightly longer stroll (Back Bay), or a quick subway ride (Harvard Square) away. I booked the room via Hotwire at a fairly significant discount off the rate being given on the Intercontinental website. Even so, I did not feel that we were given any sort of lesser treatment. In fact, I was very pleased with our room, which was a corner room on the 11th floor looking toward the city. The floor to ceiling windows on 2 of the 4 walls in the bedroom area gave the room a very airy feel and also provided some nice views. I loved the bathroom, particularly the deep soaking tub. Bathrobes were also provided, which were a nice bonus. Room also featured an iPod docking station in the clock radio (which also featured "nature sounds" for those of you who need a bit of white noise to sleep). We used the gym several times during our stay and were pleased with the atmosphere, number of machines, amenities (ample towels, fruit, water, etc.), and cleanliness. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. read more

Physically, a very nice property . Rooms spacious and well appointed. Even for a business hotel, however, we are a bit taken aback by the add ons -- $30 for a half bottle of wine at the minibar (passed) and $1,50 a page for copies at the business center (also passed). Service I would characterize as ok but not what would be expected (no answer when calling the switchboard). read more

My husband and I blocked rooms here for our wedding and had a great experience. Michelle and I communicated via email throughout the booking process and she was great. She anticipated questions I was going to ask before I had the chance to ask her about it. Marc at the concierge fielded my questions via email before we arrived at the hotel and his responses were quick and helpful. They upgraded us to a suite which was a great surprise and very useful as we had a lot going on that weekend and the extra space was nice. They left champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room the first night of our stay. My cousin and I arrived before our room was ready and were able to take showers at the spa which was really nice. The only disappointment I had with the hotel was there wasn't free wifi. You had to pay $15 for 24 hours of service. We didn't need service for that long, but thankfully my cousin was travelling with her Verizon hot spot so we used that to connect. I would have expected there to be free wifi for guests (especially since we were staying for 3 nights). All around we had great service at this hotel from the bellmen, front desk, hotel restaurant, spa. We will definitely stay here again. read more

Very nice room, food in the bar area was excellent. Only three complaints....#1)parking $44.00 for 24 hr #2)room service food (everything we ordered was wrong except the soup, even received champagne when I ordered wine) #3 no free wifi. Nice place to walk around. read more

I really have to give this place 5 stars. And I never give hotels 5. But this place was great. Let me start off with the reservation. I requested a high floor, with a view and in the corner WITH a late check in. GOT IT ALL!!! The staff was super friendly and the place is so quiet. You would think a hotel this size would be noisy. Not so. I can't think of the front desk staff ladies that asked how my stay was. And gave my wife and I chocolate covered strawberries because I mentioned how busy my wife was with work. I mean they really took care of us. Britney at the concierge desk was a sweetheart even when I cancelled on things I asked for. Ughhhhh now I have to remember there names. lol. I can not wait to go back to this hotel. I will never stay any place else. read more

I will start by saying that I did not actually stay at the hotel, but did have an appointment in the Spa. I was given a gift card for a 90-minute massage. Great right? Nice, long massage in the spa of a high-end hotel. Something I definitely would not be able to afford on my own. I was in the waiting area prior to the start of my 1:15 appointment. The masseuse did not come and get me until close to 1:25. He brought me into the massage room and then proceeded to talk to me for another 15 minutes about politics, education and scented candles. I just wanted my massage. I was finally de-robed and ready to go around 1:43. Fast forward 55 minutes later to 2:35 and the masseuse told me that my time was up. Mid-massage. Such a waste of time. Feel bad for the person who spend $300 on the gift card. You can have a better experience at a fraction of the price literally anywhere else. You pay for 90 minutes you should get 90 minutes. This was not my fault and was not worth my time read more

Once of the nicest and best hotels in Boston. The rooms are all huge with separate tubs and glass enclosed showers in the bathrooms. Beautiful lobby with several bars, all with great service, great drinks and great food. In the summertime, there is a huge outdoor patio that overlooks the water - perfect place to relax with a cocktail. As for location, the hotel is as close as you can get to South Station (Amtrak/commuter rail) and walking distance to the Seaport, Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, Financial District, Downtown Crossing and North End. Across the street from red line T and walking distance to both blue and green lines. I used live in Boston and loved coming here for food and drinks, now it is my favorite place to stay when i come back to visit. Worth the price, but also look out for weekend deals, as they often come up for this hotel. read more
