Disclaimer: our chain of choice is Staybridge. This Intercontinental location provided an even bigger WOW than the Manhattan Barclay. TLDR: Simply the BEST and Biggest hotel room we have had the pleasure of occupying, if only for a night. The view of the Fort Point Channel was expansive, including duck paddle boats and reenactments of tossing crates of tea into the harbor. Room 941 also boasted a king bed, chaise lounge, sofa, chair, mini bar, workstation and soaking tub! There is a $39 resort fee which includes a $30 credit for the attached Bar Fellini or Matria restaurant. The $65 valet parking allows you to drop your car at the entrance and retrieve at a lower level garage. Think you're going to grap a bell trolley and start loading your suitcases? Hold on there cowpoke, because this isnt a Staybridge. Their bell service will delivery all necessary items to your room, and retrieve them when you're ready to check out. If you're Ambassador level, you are guaranteed a 4pm late checkout, dont let them fool you. Also, if you have an Annual Lounge Membership reward, then you'll be enjoying the 12th floor club, where they serve breakfast, drinks all day, and lite bites after 5. Our only issue occurred at check-in. The host declined our request for a 4pm checkout, and could not locate our lounge membership, requiring us to pull it up and show him. A call to the IHG support center confirmed the late checkout was a guarantee, and a secondary call to the front desk locked it in, even though I was asked if I wanted to exercise my guarantee, as the hotel was quite booked. read more

Great hotel. Great location. Great service. Great rooms. Great beds. I can only say good things about this place. From the beginning, we had friendly service helping us with storing our luggage until check in, great local recommendations for food and bars. The rooms are nice with comfortable pillows. When the bar closed, there was a young woman that told us to leave rather rudely. But other than that, the stay was great. read more

The Boston Marine Society hosted their 284th Annual Ladies Night Dinner last evening at the InterContinental Boston located at 510 Atlantic Avenue in the heart of downtown Boston, and the venue proved to be an exceptional setting for such a distinguished maritime tradition. From the moment the evening began, the staff demonstrated remarkable professionalism and coordination. The pacing of the service was especially impressive given the size of the event, with dishes delivered and cleared efficiently while still maintaining an elegant and relaxed atmosphere throughout the evening. Dinner began with a thoughtfully prepared first course featuring artisan lettuce, toasted cashews, dry-aged Vermont goat cheese, dried blueberries, yam frites, and a maple vinaigrette that balanced the dish beautifully. The entrée consisted of beef tenderloin paired with a scallop and lobster tail brochette, accompanied by a spring medley of fresh peas, haricots verts, fava beans, asparagus, and snow peas alongside a honey-ricotta potato terrine. The presentation was refined and visually striking, but more importantly, every element of the dish was executed exceptionally well. Dessert concluded the evening on a high note with chocolate Hampton fudge cake accompanied by honey gelato served in a chocolate shell. It was imaginative, elegant, and delivered the perfect finish to a memorable meal. Beyond the exceptional dining experience, the evening carried a strong sense of maritime tradition and history. Ceremonial elements including the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Honor Guard and the ringing of the Ship's Bell honoring members lost during the past year added dignity and meaning to the occasion, serving as a reminder of the deep heritage and fellowship that continues to define the Boston Marine Society after nearly three centuries. The evening was further elevated by live entertainment from GQ and the Lady, whose performance added warmth, energy, and sophistication to an already memorable occasion. Overall, it was a wonderful evening hosted at a truly outstanding venue in downtown Boston -- an experience that blended exceptional hospitality, refined dining, maritime tradition, and celebration into a night we will remember for years to come. read more

This hotel is hands down an amazing hotel. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with kindness and the reception Lily went above and beyond to start off my birthday celebrations just right. The room was beyond spacious for two with a tub and shower. The bed was comfortable. We checkout the pool, it's an indoor pool that you go through the spa and gym to get to it. The bartender Mario I believe was his name was amazing. Made the drinks lovely and gave great recommendations on what to order. read more

We had a very nice stay at the InterContinental Boston. The hotel is beautifully maintained, clean, and in a great location with gorgeous views of the harbor and the Boston Tea Party ship. It's also walking distance from the train station, which was very convenient for us since we traveled in from New York by train. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was perfect for our family of four with two kids. The extra space made our stay much more comfortable. The club lounge was a highlight. The food was consistently fresh and plentiful, and the staff there were genuinely kind and attentive. Our kids especially loved making their hot chocolate every morning, and there was an Indian gentleman working there who was especially sweet--he always made sure they had marshmallows, which they looked forward to every day. I really wish I had remembered his name. We also did s'mores at the hotel, which was a fun and memorable experience for the kids. I wish we had time to use the pool, I kept hearing great things about it from other families. My only and biggest complaint was the beds and pillows. They were extremely soft, and unfortunately we all woke up with neck and back pain, including the kids. That was the one downside of an otherwise very comfortable stay. Overall, the rooms were kept very clean, the service was excellent, and the amenities were great. Despite the bedding issue, we would definitely stay here again. read more

Stayed 2 nights with family. Clean rooms, pleasant front desk staff and concierge. Nice Fitness Rm and pool with convenient Steam room in locker room. Great location on the water within the financial district, and within walking distance to Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, as well as the North End. A bit pricey as far as Parking fees $65 a day. I know things have gotten way to expensive way to fast but $45 per person for a full breakfast? Also be prepared to get taxed on "EVERYTHING"; Convention Ctr, Tourism, Amenities etc... If prepared to spend $$$ I would recommend a stay. read more

I stayed in this hotel for 3 days. Because of the hotel's green efforts, there isn't any bottled water in the room. The only water fountain is on 2nd floor, where the gym is located. There are 2 main restaurants in this hotel. Matria is where you get breakfast buffet or menu items. Went to this place for breakfast and dinner. The service is very meh, always had to wait for the attendant to check in, even though the restaurant wasn't even full. The hotel front desk attendants lacked smiles. All seemed to hate their job. If you are looking to stay in this hotel to feel pampered, this isn't the place to go. The only person who I interacted and was very friendly was Joe at the concierge. read more

Second stay in the past year. They were under construction, but it's finished now and just gorgeous. If you haven't stayed here before, do so. The location is perfect for strolls into the seaport, the north end, financial district, and to the Garden. Views from the room look at the greenway or the Boston Harbor. Plenty of paths to walk or run on. There is a $37 per night amenity fee. I believe this is for a heated indoor pool and fitness center. I wish we had time to use those. Parking is valet only and $65 a night. Normal rates for a city. It's under the hotel and run by a third party. There are garages around for slightly less if you don't need in/out access. Rooms are clean, spacious for the city, and decorated in traditional decor typical of Intercontinental. Robes and slippers are also standard in rooms. Love this amenity. It's also fairly quiet in terms of city traffic/horns/etc. After check in, we headed to the lounge as I have a lounge pass. Earn one through status or buy one with your room type. I highly recommend their lounge. They offer cocktail hour from 5-8. Delicious spread to satisfy every dietary preference. Desserts that look like they're straight from Paris. Full stocked bar. We ate breakfast here daily instead of the restaurant as it's quieter, more private, and has delicious offerings. Julien, who happened to be working in the lounge to cover shifts, is fantastic. He was gracious, informative, and fun. IHG is lucky to have this gem. Julien turned our would be regular stay into a spectacular, memorable stay. Kaitlin and Krish worked the lounge in the remaining days and were also incredible. The right people make a world of difference when you're in hospitality. This team gives five star service. read more

Stayed here again this year for several reasons. One is clearly the location - if you want to be able to walk to almost everything one wants to do when visiting Boston, this is the place. For us, staying in Seaport is extra special because we remember when this area was one you would not set foot in decades ago. The room we had initially was really small, but my son had a larger room with a good view and we switched (such a good guy!!). The breakfast that comes with the room if you're a rewards member is outstanding. You might as well be at a wedding breakfast - it's too bad I don't have a big appetite in the morning. Pricey if you have to pay, which we did with guests at our table. Service from every front line staff member was terrific. Friendly, competent and polite. When I discovered our room had been cleaned but the door had been left open and ajar, I was not happy. I told the front desk and asked that they remind the staff to be careful with that. Nothing was taken, but it is unnerving to go up to your room and find that. We had one day that was particularly cold and rainy and we found the lobby was a comfortable place to sit and read for awhile. We had a meal in the bar late one night, and that too was enjoyable. I also want to do a shout out to Robert Solomon and the General Manager Bradford Rice for their help when I had a problem with a reservation. They were both terrific. read more

After a long flight, this is maybe one of the best places to crash in the bed. Super clean & comfortable. I loved the views & easy walkability to the seaport. The room service was nice and fast. Parking was quick around the corner. We had to ask for robes though; the rooms did not come with them. Water pressure is kind of low. Great for location. read more

LOCATION LOCATION: near South Station (Boston). There is a free shuttle bus from the airport to South Station, (MBTA silver line 1) that takes 18 minutes. I thought this was a great location FOR US. We wanted to eat in north end, see Faneuil, Quincy market, and catch the Amtrak from south station so this worked for us during that part of our trip. We stayed in Back Bay at the end of our trip. We loved this location because it's walkable to/from North End, as well as 1-2 blocks to South Station (which is where Amtrak is). Depending on which side you face, there is a fire station right across the street, so you might hear all the sirens all night long. The front desk staff was AMAZING as you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. If you need amenities like toothbrush, razor etc make sure to grab those upon check in. We got free bottled water whenever we asked, they stored our luggage while we did one overnight trip away by train and came back. The room was small, they said I could have a rollaway on the phone, but when I got there, they said no rollaways allowed in the 2 queen bed rooms, only the king bed rooms. So I had to order an airbed to the Amazon locker nearby because my two kids can not fit on one queen bed. I don't usually stay at 5-star hotels so it was nice to feel all bougie for just a moment. Now back to our normal lives.... read more

We had an amazing stay here a few weeks ago on September 14. From the time that our car was collected in front of the hotel to meeting Leo at the front desk who promptly upgraded us to a corner suite facing the harbor, and the size of the room was 1200 ft.². We had two bathrooms lol. The room was epic, we had fantastic Room service for breakfast. We did see the club lounge on the 12th floor, but we didn't end up using it. Our room was on the 10th floor and the views were absolutely spectacular of the harbor and it was so nice to have a corner room so you could see from either side. We will absolutely be back. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here back on May for our anniversary. Although the weather didn't cooperate we still had an amazing time!! Everyone at the hotel was so friendly and helpful, rooms were big and beds were so comfy!! We had a nice view of the Boston tea party ship. Walking distance to the seaport and James Hook for yummy lobster rolls. We added the daily breakfast and happy hour buffet for an extra fee and the gentleman in charge of it I think he was Indian, forget his name, he was so nice and helpful!! He recommended some stuff for us to do like the Isabelle Stewart Gardner museum-we loved it! Highly recommend. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back, we loved Boston!! read more

Great location near Chinatown and central Downtown boston but a bit of a walk from the old town/Hynes convention area. The hotel Is quiet and very well maintained as it was recently renovated. The staff are wonderful. The beds are comfortable but not necessarily plush. It was odd to me that there were no nespresso machines in the room or tea bags just keurig. This could have been better for the whopping price you pay. read more

Glorious rooms and every bit of luxury getaway in the heart of Boston. Perfect place for families too because the children's museum and aquarium are a block - two blocks away. Rooms are large for a city. Amenities are what you'd expect from a high end hotel. Modern, beautiful and amazing! Service and staff are friendly and go beyond to help. There's a pool, spa, and business center as well as a gym. The property itself is massive. If you're looking for old feel boston, this is not it.. go search back bay hotels for that vibe...but if you want modern updated sophistication, here is your best option. Everything is within walking distance but you can get a little more peace and quiet when it's time to rest. Bathrooms are generously sized with separate tubs and beds are comfortable and sheets that are oh so soft! read more

Wonderful stay here in Boston recently! This was one of the hotels we chose to stay at during our East Coast trip around the states, and after going back-and-forth between several different nearby hotels, we decided on intercontinental. We chose this hotel based on the location of it being close to some of the main attractions, such as the Boston tea party attraction and being close to the airport. This was our first time to Boston, so we wanted to be close to all of the tourist spots. We got a room with pretty great views of the Boston tea party ship & museum location as well as the rest of the city. Our room was decent and spacious. Nothing spectacular but nice. Beds were extremely comfortable which is a huge plus. House cleaning services was excellent and did a nice thorough job of cleaning up our room every day. We ordered room service breakfast several times from the restaurant Miel and everything we ordered was absolutely excellent! Presentation as well as taste! Our only real complaint would be the cost of parking per day. $65 a day! It's valet style so you give them your ticket when you're leaving the hotel and they bring you your car. Most of all the valley guys working we're very nice but I thought the $65 a day for parking was a bit much. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. This was our first time staying at in InterContinental and would be curious to check out another one in the future. read more

Short review: service, amenities and prices in line with expectations of a 4 Diamond hotel. Parking on site is available ($44 per day) via the adjacent Icon Parking garage with direct access to the hotel. The staff was very polite and friendly, the room was spacious, again all in line with expectations. The buffet this morning was a bit unimpressive. Scrambled eggs, French toast, potatoes , bacon and sausage were the hot options - nothing bad but nothing overly flavorful either. If you want any juice, be sure to ask as it's included just not sitting out (possibly due to Covid). The kids menu pancakes looked tastier than anything I ate. All this might have been because of the pending hurricane and/or Covid. Enter the spa to access the gym and pool. Weights, Peleton bikes, treadmills and a rowing machine are available in addition to free weights. The pool is prob 20'50. A few chairs/ loungers are along 2 sides. There's also a shower head to rinse off after your swim. Towel are provided as you enter the spa. Location was perfect for what we needed, downtown and on the waterfront near the places/restaurants we wanted to visit. read more

My first hotel since the start of the Covid pandemic. Came here for a weekend visit with my husband to support our mutual friend, whose daughter was undergoing her third open heart surgery. The hotel was super nice and very spacious. Their rooms are thoroughly cleaned and I didn't have any lingering doubts regarding the staff's dedication to their efforts on our behalf. We mainly stayed in for sleeping/shower/changing purposes. The rest of our time was spent with our friends or exploring the city of Boston. Our room had a great view of the city and was quiet and clean, everything we needed it to be. A bonus is I got to take a nice long bath during my stay. Showers are faster and baths are more of a luxury... so I am glad my stay allowed some time for me to take a moment to myself for some self care. All in all a very nice hotel room. Would 10/10 recommend and would definitely stay here again. read more

Very, inexcusably dirty room with bugs and unidentified white powder. Comically bad view for an "upgrade" to a suite, basically cannot see anything except a rooftop covered in used cigarettes. Furniture is run down and old. Carpet is suspect. Valet basically ignored us, and absolutely no perks for IHG membership. This was a super disappointing stay, 2 nights week of 6/13/24. Room 539. Do not recommend. You'll be better off at a basic holiday inn. What a decline, this used to be a beautiful property!! read more

To preface, I booked through Traveluro since it was a couple hundred dollars cheaper. The pros: the service is wonderful. Our neighbor was playing loud music at 3am and they immediately sent somebody to deal with it. The staff are very responsive and helpful. The hotel and rooms are also beautiful, and it is very closely located to Chinatown and lots of tourist attractions. The cons: if you're staying on the side of the building facing the main road, you will hear the fire department sirens going off all day and night. They do not stop. Additionally, there are so many hidden fees. I'm not sure if it's because I booked with Traveluro, but they charged us an extra $200 in fees for our stay. Upon arrival, they ask you for a credit card for a $750 deposit. If there are no charges, they will return the money at the end of your stay. However, there is around $35-40 of fees everyday for state or city regulations. This felt extremely scammy and should have been included in the upfront cost. There is almost no space in the mini fridge for your personal items. There is only a 6x6 inch corner. Additionally, if you remove anything from the minibar, the fridge automatically detects it and charges you. I was scared that putting my personal items in would disrupt their minibar. I also noticed one of the slots was empty, and I didn't know if it had been empty since our arrival. For these two reasons, I actually went to the front desk to check if there were any charges. Sure enough, there was a charge even though we hadn't taken anything from the minibar. The staff were very kind and quick to remove this charge, but the entire situation just could've been executed better with a more transparent list of your fees and a better minibar system. read more

The hotel will overcharge you and then not respond to you if you follow up with them about the charges. Took a credit card charge back and an email to IHGs CEO, Investor Relations, and IHG ambassador program to finally get a response. I don't know what racket Patrick McInerney is running over there. Besmirching the McInerney name. Plenty of other nice hotels in Boston. I felt like Royalty today, while I was attending a sponsorship event for "Women Fighting Hunger Breakfast" this morning. We arrived at 6:30 AM and we were whisked into the hotel and we were told where to go and enjoy your special day. Once we went to the main area outside the conference breakfast room. We met all the main people and were told what to expect for the morning meeting. We went into the main room and to our table sat and drank some coffee. The waitstaff every attentive, even though they were still setting up. Our table #2 was the place to be! We sat with all the head women that spoke during this event. I had a great time and the crew was amazing I felt like a CEO. The breakfast was delicious an egg frittata with fresh asparagus, cheddar, served with tiny roasted potatoes and perfectly done bacon 4 strips. A fresh seasonal fruit plate, with black and red raspberries, pineapple, honeydew and cantaloupe melons sliced, and blueberries. This hotel was gorgeous and the service was impressive. This is an absolutely beautiful hotel to stay at and central to many landmarks in Boston. The hotel sits along the Boston harbor and is minutes from their central subway station. I boarded a bus directly from the Logan airport, which took roughly 20 minutes to arrive at the central subway station, followed by a 5 minute way to the hotel. The hotel is very noticeable from the outside as it is guided in glass. As you enter the hotel, you are immediately greeted by the doormen. Floral arrangements, high ceilings, and marble can be seen in the lobby. Mixture of glass, metal and wood frame the Front Desk, where I was greeted and checked in by a warm agent. Boston is a small city and so most landmarks are either walkable or a short station away by bus and subway. I chose the InterContinental Boston so that I can utilize my Ambassador membership for upgraded rooms and stay amenities. I received an upgrade to a room with a view on a high floor. Instead of receiving a sweet or savory amenity, which in the past consists of a mixture of fruit or crackers, cookies, nuts - a $20 credit is provided for food and beverage within the hotel. The room was rather spacious with a modern yet elegant design. Clean and warm colors really make a room comforting. The bathroom though, I liked the concept of sliding windows that when opened allows it to become one with the entire room. I like that newer updated hotels are bringing the bathroom one with the room either with sliding doors and in this case sliding windows; it adds a spa like experience, that and the television set can also be enjoyed. As for the bathroom amenities, this InterContinental utilizes the Gilchrist & Soames brand instead of the brand standard Agraria. Neither of which are my favorite of amenities as I have used others from competing hotel brands. However, Gilchrist & Soames did serve its purpose for my stay. As I was in Boston visiting family, the food and beverage outlets were not fully utilized during my stay. I did have breakfast at the Miel Brasserie Provencale, which is located at the back of the hotel. That is where I utilized my $20 food and beverage credit for eggs benedict and orange juice. Majority of what I ate was outside of the hotel. For some fresh air, there is an entry way at the back of the hotel just past the restaurants. From there you can take a stroll along the harbor. Staff was polite and attentive welcoming and saying good-bye as guests and myself would come and go. I enjoyed my stay here and is on my list of hotels to return to. read more
