Pleasant stay overall at Raffles in the back bay neighborhood. Location is very walkable and the pool area was spa-like and tranquil -- very very relaxing - bring your swimming goggles as the water is chlorinated. The King room was very nice with large ceiling to floor windows, a comfortable bed, and large bathroom. The room also had a complimentary signature cocktail available, which was a nice touch. While we were there, 2 restaurants were unavailable (emergency repair) and the lobby coffee machine was out of service. We were able to try Breakfast at the Lobby Bar, which was nice and casual. At this higher price point, I was comparing Raffles in my mind to previous stays at the St Regis Osaka, Park Hyatt Milan, etc etc -- while the Raffles is a very nice 5-star hotel it doesn't measure up to the size rooms; or level of service and attention of these other similar price-point hotels. Examples of these smaller things that I felt were missing in comparison: - no coffee cream in room. None provided when asked (who doesn't provide creamers?) - turn down service provides water but not a candy/chocolate. - no little memento (like branded bookmarks left on books in room) - lobby area should have had carafes of coffee out when their machine was out of service - advertised butler service is actually just a group-text with the concierge desk (eg same level of service as non-butler hotels where you can call the front desk or concierge desk, though texting is a nice touch) Again, splendid hotel in Boston - but it doesn't live up to their claims of over-the-top service (versus an Asian hotel which is incredibly modest in marketing but then does go insanely over the top in knowing their guests). I'd definitely stay at Raffles again for the pool.

Beautiful property, fantastic service and an amazing sunset to boot! I highly recommend for an evening cocktail!

Raffles is such a nice place to have a drink either before dinner or after an event. It's located on the 17th floor and the views are remarkable. The hostess was friendly and took us to a table because the bar ear full. The menu is extensive but since we came for a drink we stick to cocktails. Our waitress was helpful and new the menu well. For this evening we had a drink enjoyed the views and the comfort of the lounge. I am looking forward to coming back.

Booked a grand king room for our Black Friday shopping weekend. Well- we got no shopping done but we did get some serious relaxing done in this fabulous hotel. My masseuse was magic. We will certainly return.

My husband and I celebrated here for his birthday. The ambience was excellent. The staff was accommodating and very polite. The only reason why they did not get a five star is because the space was small. I wish it was bigger. The food was delicious. The portions aren't large but fulfilling. Will recommend especially for us older crowd.

Came here 5 days ago and sat at Long bar for drinks and loved everything about Long bar so I decided to come back with another friend for drinks and explore more of Raffles and what they have to offer. We ended up at The Blind Duck a speak easy bar/lounge. The view was amazing we were very lucky and excited to get a table by the window!! The drinks were just perfect, not too light not too strong and not too small. There is only 1 bathroom (unisex) for the whole lounge can cause a long wait at times so I think this needs to be resolved! This is a cute place with young crowds and good music but I still like Long bar better.

The most elegant luxury five star hotel in Boston! We travel to Boston frequently, Raffles hotel is our first choice for staying here for the convenience of shopping and dinning. My favorite part of Raffles hotel is the unbeatable flower arrangement they put on the lobby and reception floor. They change every five days! Fresh and artistically decorated. They also provide the butler service which is a nice touch! I would recommend Raffles hotel to all my friends!

For a hotel of this status I'm surprised they dont acknowledge repeat customers. "Welcome Back" or a different note in the room than the formulaic one from guest services. There are many hotel options in Boston which we have also enjoyed that seem to pay closer attention to their repeat guests. Just a thought. We will continue to return regardless :)

The not-so-good: we booked a suite and were originally shown a room on the 11th floor which was very dark and faced a brick building. We requested another room and were moved to a much better room facing the park on the 3rd floor. Neither room was worth the $1k price point but at least the second room was an improvement. It should be noted the elevators are very slow and the wait was 5-10 minutes no matter the time of day. The bad: Contessa has almost zero vegan options... not even oatmeal which was odd. Even the acai bowl had milk in it! I ended up ordering a slice of focaccia, a laughable fruit plate (which was $20), and orange juice. Room service was no better in terms of option...one night I ordered the rigatoni marinara clearly stating that I am a vegan and it arrived an hour later covered in parmesan cheese. None of the above would have been a big deal at a $500-$600 price point, but at $1k per night our experience was disappointing. I doubt we'll stay at the Newbury again.

That time due to everything going on in the world with minimal travel we enjoyed a cheap rate for an entire weekend with probably the best view offered for the hotel of TD Garden as well as the Leonard P. Zakim Bunker Hill Memorial Bridge. Which I know it's just a bridge but it was a nice sight for an in-city view. This most recent stay was due to a concert at TD Garden my wife and I were in town for. Which I will say if you are looking for a place to stay for an event at TD Garden, good luck finding a better option than here! Check in staff and valet workers were friendly and greeted us with a smile. Rates were very reasonable for end of summer and with a concert so close. Room was smaller this stay around and our view was more of just a building with a small glance of TD Garden if you looked to the side. Overall a very clean room and still a good amount of space. Can not think of any complaints for our stay and would stay here again. They offer valet parking and anytime we needed the car it was quick to get it back. Inside the lobby/first floor they have plenty of seating and what they dub "The Bistro" that offers breakfast, dinner, and full bar and I believe Starbucks drinks too. Location wise it is quite ideal, obviously if your activities/work is in this area of Boston. Besides TD Garden it is also close to North station along with plenty of food and drink options. Personally for a morning coffee or matcha I say check out Blank Street Coffee, then food wise I would say take a quick walk to the North End or closer try Tavern In The Square. Definitely a hotel worth looking into while visiting Boston!

We were on our way out to Fenway, so the friendly gentleman at the front desk was kind enough to give us walking directions after he showed us around the guest spaces and our room. Location: 5 : an easy 10 minute walk to Fenway, a 12 minute walk to the Commons. A wealth of eating options, safe secure and walkable in every direction. Room: 5 Our room was impeccable with impressive personal touches and attention to detail. Little things like Fiji water, fresh soft towels (and a black towel for makeup), full array of toiletries, and a welcoming comfortable firm bed. Despite having alllll the things to do in Boston, I was excited to get back to that room and that bed, and I slept like a log. I like a good bed when I'm traveling and I would never stay at another place if I had the option. My favorite aspect was having a separate bedroom and living area (with pull out couch). All things comparable, I've stayed in a thousand hotels, I've traveled Boston thoroughly. This will be my go-to forever. Whether traveling single, as a couple, or with my kids, I will look at 284 first and foremost. Kid-friendly: yes! I would definitely stay here with my kids (ages 9, 11, 13). Safe, fun, welcoming, and wallet-friendly. Special bonus and wow impression: each room is themed after a different artist. I love love love this concept and intrigued me a thousand times over. I ave a personal goal to stay in every room now.

The environment was beautifully decorated for Christmas, like last year, and I had to take some pictures to have as desktop wallpaper on my computer. We had a very nice time and the selections on the menu were impressive. I went with the carrot cake chai black tea, mainly because it had pumpkin pie kinds of spices and vanilla rooibos. It tasted wonderful, like an autumnal tea, and all our teas came in beautifully decorated tea pots, apparently from Australia. The Four Seasons also does this interesting thing where they give you a liquor that fits with your tea order, to be added if you wish or drank by itself. I had a sip of mine and from someone else's, a bit strong for me but a bailey's one was alright. I'm fine with just tea myself! As for the food, this year's high tea was one of the best I've had. The menu was different from last year's, which was great too but in my opinion this seemed like an upgrade. Some of the food items included pieces of salmon in a little pastry, mini lobster roll, peking duck crepe, curried chicken croissant, a beautiful deviled egg, vanilla bean and brown butter scones, an eggnog tart, and a Santa hat shaped raspberry pastry. We even got some alternate options for a lactose sensitive person, so that's a great plus as well. The atmosphere was elegant and calming, and the service was great. The Four Seasons high tea was a very special holiday event, and comes highly recommended!
