In my part of Utah County you get horrible speeds with the phone company or pretty fast download,…read morebut horrible upload with the cable company. Plus, they charge an arm and a leg for it. Utopia finally came to the neighborhood and I could not be happier. They installed quickly, and the service has been flawless so far. There is a large selection of ISPs available, but most of them are suspect in my mind. XMission is the only one with a total usage cap. However, even as a heavy user I've not hit it. By having the cap, it's easier to handle people who abuse the bandwidth setting up spam servers or torrent servers. They are also the only one meeting state of the art security standards like SOC2. Back to Utopia. It just works. I have 250Mbs up and down. That allows me to do full backups of my home to the Cloud. I could never do that with the pitiful upload speed the competition has. Plus it's far cheaper.

As an electrician I just can't for the life of me figure out why that would ever be a good idea. There was sewage leaking through every faucet, drain and toilet.. spraying up onto the air!! This wasn't just her sewer main but also their client's! So apparently their practices are most likely shady and against code. (Classic lazy Utahn business tactics.) My mom had to go stay in a hotel which she couldn't work in due to needing her Internet at home to work. She lost days of work, sleep and had the stress of her house being covered in sewage! I'd say literally go with anything else.

I was having trouble with getting my elderly V.A uncle used to where his channels were at (we get so many more than DISH! and channels we actually watch). I lost my paperwork and couldn't find the number for NewStar and just searched for the DirecTv number online. I called into DiredTv wanting some help with figuring out what to do and I could barely understand the agent on the line (language barrier) and they basically said they would have to send a technician out to me and it would cost me $40-$99. I declined, because I just don't have the money for that. Thought I was just stuck and very dissapointed. One week later I got a follow up call from NewStar just to see how I was liking my New DirecTv sytem. Let me say I am pretty embarrassed at how I treated the young lady on the phone. I vented and was very upset and she didn't interrupt me even once! She listen ACTUALLY LISTENED. Then she fixed it all right over the phone, I didn't even need a technician and that saved me time and money right there! She went through step by step with my uncle of making a favorites list and with the protection plan I had got from them they were able to send me out a remote that fit my uncles needs even better, for free ($15 plus shipping if I didn't have that protection plan). Remote got to us in 2 days and they had already setup a favorites list with my uncle and he was happier than he had ever been in his 80 years of different tv services (he is now deceased). I wish I had the name of that young lady and I hope she sees this review. To that agent if you do see this review I want to thank you and apologize again for how poorly I treated you on the phone. The main thing I have learned through this experience is to go through a authorized dealer for anything I can! Even when I didn't know it they had my back, THANK YOU New Star!!!!!

They claimed we (my wife and I) never called to fix the overcharge before now, because of that they can't refund our money. Odd part of this is that we did call more than once to fix this, but they say we never did... my wife being awesome as she is kept notes of her original call to century link. We talked to Kaitlyn first to get this setup to have the auto pay and paperless setup for a monthly total of $29. When we found out that we were charged the next month for nearly $50, we were confused. My wife calls them back and they said that she needs to set it up on her end online to go paperless. They then walked her through it over the phone and we assumed everything would be fixed after that... we were painfully wrong. We found that they were still charging us nearly $50 a month for the next 10 months. We called in and spoke with Sally in Escalations and she said she has no record of us ever calling to discus our internet because it keeps a paper trail of what happens in our account. Not only is that complete BS, she wouldn't even consider the fact that their system could have been at fault. It made me feel only slightly better when I read another reviewer in a different market having had a similar problem and was told exactly the same thing. She then said because it was a year ago she can't help us even though it was their fault... Leo is her supervisor and Sally said he will call me in a 48 hour window. I assume he is the busiest human on earth. Simply put, Don't use them even if they are the only option.

What can they help me with and they said basically nothing. We have been ignored and turned away an hour to a half an hour before closing so they didn't have to do anything. We have had them try to direct and guide us through things on the app while clearly seeing that they themselves do not know anything on the app. Seriously this location is a waste of everyone's time and money. They either need new management or new training. Or just simply an entirely new staff.

When returning to the store they informed me that even though they made the mistake, even though they are the ones that put the money to the wrong phone, they wouldn't do anything to help. Tmobile corporate wouldn't do anything either. My only options are to try and convice corporate to refund (again) or just pay more money and get the actual phone paid off that I wanted. I highly recommend going with a completely different carrier. I have had nothing but bad luck with Tmobile and don't even get service in my house, I have to use WiFi.
