We were really impressed on how he handled our situation, from looking up our account, giving us the options that we can choose, and making it super easy for us to get a hold of him again if we had additional future questions! Chris T. kept in touch with us for the next two weeks, from ordering our new iPhones, trade in process, and setting up our new ones - making sure it was a smooth transition. I was having trouble with getting my elderly V.A uncle used to where his channels were at (we get so many more than DISH! and channels we actually watch). I lost my paperwork and couldn't find the number for NewStar and just searched for the DirecTv number online. I called into DiredTv wanting some help with figuring out what to do and I could barely understand the agent on the line (language barrier) and they basically said they would have to send a technician out to me and it would cost me $40-$99. I declined, because I just don't have the money for that. Thought I was just stuck and very dissapointed. One week later I got a follow up call from NewStar just to see how I was liking my New DirecTv sytem. Let me say I am pretty embarrassed at how I treated the young lady on the phone. I vented and was very upset and she didn't interrupt me even once! She listen ACTUALLY LISTENED. Then she fixed it all right over the phone, I didn't even need a technician and that saved me time and money right there! She went through step by step with my uncle of making a favorites list and with the protection plan I had got from them they were able to send me out a remote that fit my uncles needs even better, for free ($15 plus shipping if I didn't have that protection plan). Remote got to us in 2 days and they had already setup a favorites list with my uncle and he was happier than he had ever been in his 80 years of different tv services (he is now deceased). I wish I had the name of that young lady and I hope she sees this review. To that agent if you do see this review I want to thank you and apologize again for how poorly I treated you on the phone. The main thing I have learned through this experience is to go through a authorized dealer for anything I can! Even when I didn't know it they had my back, THANK YOU New Star!!!!!

Utopia finally came to the neighborhood and I could not be happier. They installed quickly, and the service has been flawless so far. There is a large selection of ISPs available, but most of them are suspect in my mind. XMission is the only one with a total usage cap. However, even as a heavy user I've not hit it. By having the cap, it's easier to handle people who abuse the bandwidth setting up spam servers or torrent servers. They are also the only one meeting state of the art security standards like SOC2. Back to Utopia. It just works. I have 250Mbs up and down. That allows me to do full backups of my home to the Cloud. I could never do that with the pitiful upload speed the competition has. Plus it's far cheaper.

Dish was pretty good, and every once in a while they will give you some of the pay stations free for a week, probably as a teaser. I was able to save a number or movies to an external drive, and had a great legal, time delayed recording collection. Alas, we are ROKU people now, and those movies only play on dish stuff. Had a number of edited Rs as well! Decent for the price.

The package they offered me would have been fine if they had fulfilled their agreement; however, they have yet to provide the services the rep promised. My rep was Sam Parks so if he comes to your house do not take any order from him as he does not and will not follow through on anything he promises you. This review is only for Dish One Satellite and Mr. Parks -- it has NO reflection on Dish Network. I have not had any problems with Dish Network.

The person I spoke to was friendly and helpful, and not "salesy". The install only took a couple hours and the technician knew what he was doing. He gave great advice regarding modems and routers and how to get started. I rented eero devices from UBB for a couple months, then bought my own when there was a good sale. It was no trouble at all to return their equipment - they came and picked it up. The service has been really fantastic. The speeds are more than we need, and I have a few dozen devices between our phones, tablets, laptops, a home computer, and a collection of smart home devices and cameras. I work from home about 80% of the time and I have no complaints!
