She ended up needing a completely new mechanism because it jammed and he drove out to a Toyota dealership the same day to get the part and returned promptly in order to put it back together. I unfortunately can't remember the name of the gentleman that assisted us. He was quick, direct, and efficient. As anything that comes with the fear of getting something with your car fixed, we were terrified of being cheated on pricing. Once he provided a quote, we were able to quickly confirm with our local mechanic via phone call that it sounded legit. Horrible experience. The key fob lasted 3 months then just stopped working. The old fob was…read morereplaced because the actual key broke off, but the fob still worked. So, I tested it and it works fine, so it was obviously the new fob being defective. The guy said he would come out and test it for a $75 fee. Then, if it was defective, it would be the same charge as last time to replace it again. Seriously?! Don't waste your money on a company that refuses to stand behind their product! They're cheap and dishonest.
