    Lakeview Marina

    Lakeview Marina

Updated 8/6/12: I've…read morehad friends at Lakeview for many years and just recently started slipping my boat at this marina. It is one of the older marinas on the lake but the family who owns it is very nice. You can walk-in, call, or email and get a response back in a reasonable amount of time. The marina is on the West shore of the lake just north of what is known as Party Cove which makes it a popular place for party boaters to put their boats. Slips fees are reasonable when compared to some of the other offerings on the lake as some are higher and some are a little lower. In terms of amenities Lakeview has all the basics covered. The slips have water and metered electric. Trailer storage is available for slip customers for an extra fee. Each dock has a locking door with a key code that changes periodically for security. There is plenty of parking next to each boat house which makes it a short trip when loading up your boat for an outing on the lake. The main office also has a small ship store that has all the basics (fenders, lines, oil, etc) available at a very reasonable price. The fuel dock is full service and offers several grades of fuel. They also have a DIY pump-out station and an assortment of cold drinks available. Note/tip: Take cash or a credit card if your boat takes a lot of fuel. My debit card won't work on this dock when I make large fuel purchases.

They got slips. A lot of slips. I'm not really sure what else Lake Country Marina has to offer to…read moreits customers, as the only building I saw was small, dilapidated, and the sign was leaned against the fence, unreadable behind some trees that had grown over it. We came to visit some friends on their 33 foot boat. Along the dock, the boat owners set tables, chairs, and grills like a patio area, and seem to have formed a warm and friendly community. The security gate stood at the entrance to the dock, but was standing open. Renters pay over $500 per month to store their boats here, which seemed high to me, but I'm not a boat owner. The parking lot has an uneven dirt base, with some gravel scattered here and there. The whole place conveyed a feeling of being abandoned. I'm not a big lake culture guy, but had I driven up here looking to rent I would be expecting low, low budget prices to store my boat. The docks are quite large, with many slips containing boats that were large enough to live in full-time. Our experience on the lake was very positive. I just wasn't sure what to make of this place.

Old marina...a cash cow for Suntex in my opinion. Covered slip for our boat but the roof leaks…read morewater all over the place on our dock. Not sure exactly how old the marina is but it is not worth what you have to pay to rent a slip. Their lease requires you to give up just about any right you think you might have, even if they are negligent. They just went up on the rates so now it's way over priced imo. We are somewhat trapped in this marina since they are the only one that has large enough slips for our boat. We will be having our 40' boat pulled out of the water and shipped to another lake as soon as we can... whatever it takes to get away from them/ Suntex marinas. New Manager is just plain overboard. Stay away from them would be our advice!
