I just wanted to write this in regards to a long time friend who went her to get her truck fixed well after finding that the repairs was going to cost more then the truck so out of know where the mechanic stated oh I have a car for sale real nice totally redone. Everything works on it great car $3500 so me and her talked about it and I said well you need a car and he's got all this stuff on it you know maybe it's a reliable car, her being an elderly woman she decided to give him the money for the car. she did take the car for a test drive and everything seemed to be fine so she the car and she was driving home next morning. She woke up. The tire was flat. She went to have the tire looked at found out all four tires were dry rotted same day. The air conditioner went out. One of the doors went and from the inside one of the up after just every day went wrong car and she called the guy back and he won't honor it being very tacky and disrespectful and rude so I wouldn't trust this guy to do anything to my vehicle more so now that we see the vehicle that he said was perfectly in great shape believe me it was not. He even put an inspection on it knowing that those tires were dry rotted so I wouldn't advise anyone to use this man or this place read more

The mechanics at Duffy's are honest, competent, and tenacious. JT has an old world work ethic and passion for perfection that is very hard to find anymore. He was able to correctly diagnose and repair a very complicated and involved overheating issue I was having. JT took the extra time to tenaciously diagnose complication after complication. He even took the time to correct mistakes made by a previous mechanic. Bryan is an excellent communicator and kept me in the loop every step of the way. I cannot recommend Duffy's enough. Bryan just reopened his shop after the COVID-19 mess. Service is great, friendly and honest. My AC was dead and the techs got fixed in two days. The leak that I thought was my power steering turned out to be the connection between my radiator and transmission. They fixed that too. They also recommended replacement of my lower radiator hose because it was bulging. I like how they show you the replaced parts and explain every thing that was completed. When I was new to Denton, I was desperately looking for a place to take my car in so I could drive safely to work. I called a bunch of places, and my last call was Duffy's. This was Friday and I wasn't able to take in the car before they closed, so I asked the man if I could bring it in the following day, he told me they were closed Saturdays. About 5-10 mins later, Brian called me and told me to bring in my car tomorrow(Saturday) and he'll look at it. After Brian looked at my car and determined the problem, he thoroughly explained to me what happened, what needs to be done and something of mine was really worn out so he even compared a new one to mine to show me the difference. When I was paying, he said the time he spent on it was less than what the computer estimated, so he adjusted the price accordingly. I couldn't believe the honesty from a auto repair shop. I usually go to my uncle to avoid shops, but he's in Fort Worth and sometimes he isn't able to do things for me, so in those times I ALWAYS go to Duffy's. They've gained my trust, which is something I never thought I'd say about an auto repair shop. Three years later I've only gone to them and my uncle. Super friendly service and no bullshit diagnoses trying to gouge customers for money. Great choice for poor college students. I found out about Duffy's because of Yelp. My Civic at one point started smoking and to me seemed like the engine had just been shot. I had just moved to Denton for school so after a quick Yelp search I drove my barely running Civic over to Duffy's. I had blown a head gasket which obviously sucked but Brian was able to get parts ordered and have my civic out the door as soon as possible. After this fiasco, Duffy's was my go to auto repair in Denton. I would call before I drove over and as long as they weren't super busy I would get a diagnosis in under an hour, then would receive options to fix my problems and even given reference to body or other shops to best handle my vehicles issues. read more

This is my second time using Duffy's. I had my Prius break down and got a "free tow" to a nearby chain shop. They did a diagnostic and found a coolant pump had been broken. They offered to fix it for $900+. I emailed Duffy's and Bryan quoted me $500. I immediately had it towed there and in two days my car was as good as new for exactly what he quoted. After driving to Texas from Nevada I needed my oil changed. I'm not too familiar with the area, so I pulled up yelp & selected Duffy's based on reviews. I was not at all disappointed. Bryan was incredibly friendly (& very patient with my daughters!) & the waiting area was neat & clean. I was missing valve caps on my tires & he replaced them, & even pulled my car into the shop out of the rain so that my daughters wouldn't have to get wet. As we were leaving my youngest commented about how clean the floor was now...he ran a vacuum over the floors & got up all of our travel dirt! I'll continue to use Duffy's when I'm in the in Denton area & highly recommend them. They're honest, straight forward, & won't break your bank account. read more

I don't usually take the time to write reviews (I know I should, but I don't get around to it). But this place deserves some good publicity. I went in with an ailing Ford Freestyle, problems in the electronics. Bottom line is i the solution was evading everyone. We were looking at a hot Texas summer without air conditioning. Bryan and his team refused to give up, even after many, many unfruitful avenues, and finally landed on the problem that even the dealer could not figure out. Made the 6 hour trek from Houston to Denton to visit our daughter. Long story short, the truck decided that was a good time to fall to pieces. The back end had "blown out"...something about rotors and drive shafts...whatever. Anyway, I found Duffy's on yelp and as the other reviewers noted, Duffy's is great! The guys were really helpful. They diagnosed the problem quickly, obtained the parts and fixed us up. We had to stay an extra night in Denton, but hey....another day to hang out and it was worth it b/c we really felt like the guys at Duffy's knew what they were doing. My wife's car broke down near the Duffy's shop when she was traveling from Austin to Oklahoma. Bryan was very nice and helped her figure things out. His diagnosis of what was wrong with the car was spot on, even though he looked at it briefly because it was covered by warranty so we sent it to the Toyota dealer in Grapevine (at his recommendation).
