We hired Bay Area Moisture Control to install a sump pump with trenching to address standing water…read moreunder the house. On the positive side, the crew (Antonio) was punctual, easy to work with, and efficient. The whole job took 3.5 hours. The issue came with the placement of the sump pump discharge location. I had talked to their sales lead (Bill) about having the water be discharged to the street where there is a storm drain. Instead, the sump pump "pop up" was placed 8 feet from the front of the house, way too close. Water can flow back under the house, defeating the purpose of the sump pump entirely. When I called Bill during the job to talk about our options, he dismissed our concerns and immediately pointed to the contract, implying that this was our fault because we signed the contract. In reviewing the contract, the design was completely unclear about where the sump pump would exit water. Bill continued to skirt the fact that that we had discussed pumping water to the street, and instead, he baked a different design into the contract with unclear markings. We are dissatisfied with the poor communication, but even more so, the lack of accountability from the company. If you hire this company, just a word of caution to walk through the design with them before signing and make sure you're on the same page about everything. We are going to have to bring someone else out to fix the issue. One more thing ... I was flabbergasted that when talking to Bill on the phone about the iffy sump pump discharge location, Bill was trying to upsell me on encapsulation! Read the room, dude.

North Coast Waterproofing drilled holes every 6" to 8" to insert ports in cold joints along the entire length back wall of our home. Next, they injected the ports with Seal Boss 1510 Water Stop Foam & Accelerator to protect against any potential water intrusion. Then they brushed two coats of Xypex Crystalline Waterproofing onto concrete wall and base next to the wall to keep water from wicking through the wall in the future. Finally, they pulled the ports and filled them with Xypex Hydro Plug. The North Coast Waterproofing crew was courteous, efficient and professional. There were no surprises with the bill. They cleaned up nicely and followed-up to make sure all was well. We've had several storms since then and no water intrusion!

My HOA hired KH after the deluge of 2022-2023 left our building with 20+ leaks. Ours is a unique, historical building constructed from several different types of materials. We have a flat roof with parapet walls, large patio decks (each treated differently), and windows that were not properly sealed by the original developers. After an exhausting search for comprehensive waterproofing solutions, it was clear that regular roofers, construction companies, and so-called envelope waterproofing experts could not handle a project of this scale, nor did they have enough experience or creative thinking to meet all of our needs. Even before our board decided to employ KH, Nicholas came out time after time to survey our building and answer our questions. He took the time to explain our building's key issues, wrote us a thorough proposal, and even talked to our insurance company to help with a claim. The entire project took almost 6 months. During which Graham and the crew were here every day, sometimes on weekends, to make sure every detail was handled with care.
