I am…read morenot much of a complainer & I usually just roll with the punches but what's right is right & wrong is wrong so, I had to share this with others in hopes you all don't waste time, money or energy dealing with people who simply couldn't care less about the way they treat customers or the work they do. 12/17/2024 I took my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee to South Tryon Auto with the check engine light on. I was unaware of the problem and wanted to get a diagnostic and have the repairs done. Joseph informed me that he was short staff and was almost working alone (which should have been a red flag) however, I was desperate to have my car serviced, and I left my car with him. Little did I know I would not get my car back until 1/16/2025, a month later. I paid almost $1600 for repairs/labor/parts, whatever and upon receiving my jeep back, the check engine light was still on. I was told to drive the car a few miles and it will go off. Also, when I initially dropped the jeep off on 12/17/2024, my park sense was not reading "unavailable" but on this day it was. After driving the car a while on that SAME day, I noticed the check engine light in fact did not go off and my park sense was still saying "unavailable" which it had not been doing before leaving my car with this shop for almost a month. So I called, same day as my pick up and spoke to JOSPEH and told him what was happening, he told me to bring the car back so they could reset the light and see what was happening with the park sense. I go to the shop this morning and am told by IVAN, that the park sense was not related to the work they completed. While this may be true (I'm not sure), if I paid for a diagnostic and brought my car to be repaired, why would I still have a check engine light on? I brought my car to you with the light on and left the same way, meaning something was still wrong, and my car wasn't fixed COMPLETELY! Nonetheless, aside from the work not being complete, IVAN decided it was a good idea to argue aggressively with me stating things like "I don't know how else to tell you or explain", avoiding direct yes or no questions, and refusing to be accountable for their wrong doing. And yes, I did assert myself as well! JOSEPH, whom I assume is the owner or manager did not come to assist or bring forth any resolution. Nor did he try to mediate or rectify the situation while he was there to hear and see what was going on. We were just going back and forth in the lobby and IVAN refused to admit that my car should've never left with the check engine light on and I should've never been told it would go off. He would not admit the check engine light should not be coming back on after work was completed by them because he did not want to incriminate himself or the mechanics for a half assed job. If I bring my car with the check engine light on, I ask you to fix it, why would you not address all problems before calling me to pay & pick it up? IVAN insisted on telling me what they fixed instead of acknowledging that they missed something, which they obviously did! I am posting this as a warning to not patronize this shop. Take my mistake and stay clear as your work will not be completed promptly or correctly and you will not be treated appropriately should you have a valid complaint or you are not satisfied with the work done.     Don't go to this FireStone, they will definitely rip you off, its been almost a year since I went…read morethere for a courtesy check, I called made sure was free, went there to make appointment, double checked it was free with them and next day I went and left my car, got a call saying if i wanted them to fix the car valve but it would be 800 dollars, said no, they said my car was good to pick up and just had to pay the rest of the service, was confused as I headed to the place, and once I got there they made me pay 139 for an inspection, I told them to check the cameras because they would find evidence of them telling me it was free the day before, but then said they couldn't, at the end of the day I had to pay for an inspection I didn't ask for, I tried calling the company to solve this problem but they always made me call them later, at some point I just gave up, I'm leaving this review here so no one falls for this like I did, don't trust this people

    I now have an explanation for why the car has been shaking when I step on the brakes - one of the…read morewheel studs was stripped and the other one is broken. Pretty amazing since I had the tires checked not too long ago and the brakes completely done just eight months back. The tech here said they definitely missed it before as it's been like that for a while. So he's fixed the wheel studs, rotated the tires and replaced the rotors (with a credit under warranty for the brake pads!). Yes, that's $225 I didn't really want to spend today. But brakes are super important so we're getting it done and this time, doing it properly. Now there's no squeaking and there's no shaking. My car stops properly!     As a general rule, I have never trusted chain repair shops, and we always brought our cars to the…read moredealer in the past. When our Q3 was totaled in an accident, we wound up going against our better judgement and buying used from carmax. Less than a year later the transmission was giving out- luckily we had purchased the extended warranty. We only went to Tuffy because it was one of the preferred vendors for the warranty service so we assumed it would make things smoother, plus it knocked a bit off the deductible. The Carmax warranty company wound up being a monumental pain to work with and tried to get out of paying for a new transmission saying they didn't think it was actually broken even though it sounded like a blender with a bag of bolts in it when you were in any forward gear. Luckily, Chastity went to war with them on our behalf, getting them to send out a second inspector and then making sure that inspector saw and heard what they needed to. She then continued to go to war with them after they agreed that it was broken but wanted them to put in a used transmission instead of a new one. She convinced them that was not viable and that they needed to cover new parts. After that, we discovered that our transmission was on a widespread back order and the earliest any Audi dealership could get it in was going to be about two months. Chastity still didn't stop there - she called all around and pulled strings with connections she had, and tracked down the new Audi transmission we needed at another (competitor) shop or a that happened to have one on hand, and arranged to buy that one from them - cutting our two month wait down to a few days. Additionally, while we had the car in, we decided to move ahead with replacing the brakes and rotors which were nearing the end of their lives (rotors were extra worn because of a dust shield rubbing on them that Carmax didn't spot) because they were hanging a sale and it was going to be about half off if memory serves. Chastity reached out to me to explain that while they could put in the store brand brakes and rotors that were covered by the promotion, she actually wouldn't recommend it because for our particular model and trim level, there are regularly issues with the car's sensors not working well with the store brand. She recommended using dealer parts, which wound up costing about double what the promo price for the store brand was, so she gave us the dealer parts at cost with no markup to make up a bit of the difference (despite the fact that the cost difference was not her fault). Chastity and Derek were both far more patient with us than I would have been, with us calling way too frequently. While we will probably never buy another car from Carmax, Chastity has definitely earned our trust and we will gladly continue to bring our car to her in the future.

    I had called earlier for my car inspection, and they returned my call even after I hadn't left a…read moremessage. Basically said, "Hi, we missed your call. Is there anything we can do for you?" They said come in before noon, and they would take care of me. Came in, and Derrick was the NICEST person to greet me. Soooo polite to me and every client that walked in. This is refreshing because it's rare to meet a guy who is genuinely nice and awesome about his customer service. Says things like, "Its a great day at Tuffy, how may I be of assistance". The bathroom was surprisingly clean and smelled nice. The lobby has 7 new chairs and fairly clean. 10 stars to Derrick!!! Oh my inspection went smooth too.
