I've been going to Rick for many, many years. Not only is he a great massage therapist, he is also a great source of knowledge in terms of alternative health modalities, which he believes in to supplement more mainstream treatments. His new treatment space in Brookline is pleasant and very soothing. And the room is very large compared to his former modest office in the Back Bay. Rick's particular expertise is treating musicians for the various problems that may arise when playing an instrument. This has been a godsend for me, and doubtless for many other musicians. He will also kindly accommodate your musical preferences while working on you--I don't enjoy New Age stuff, so he indulges my taste for Renaissance and Baroque music! Always a great experience and a pleasure to see Rick. read more

Arun Jain is a wise and experienced therapist. He can use a range of modalities in any session. He intuitively knows what will be most effective--deep tissue, energy work, neuromuscular--he understands how the body functions and he does whatever therapy will work best. I have always had some bioenergy healing with my neuromuscular therapy session. I trust him to do whatever he feels he needs to do as he is working. He is very "in the moment" with your needs. It is amazing to have someone so focused on your healing with so many healing modalities to offer. I cannot recommend Arun Jain and Integrative Therapies highly enough. Brillance!! read more

Today I received the most amazing hour long head massage from Arun! I've been suffering from awful sinus headaches and I feel such relief and calmness after the massage. This is my second time going here and can't wait to go back! Also to note, Arun and Frederick are incredibly kind gentlemen and create such a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere! read more

Arun is incredibly talented and knowledgeable. I go for deep tissue massage, and find it very helpful for alleviating pain and tension in my neck, lower back, and hips. Arun finds exactly the places that are tight and works through them. His manner is very professional while also being warm. Highly recommend! read more

Both me and my fiancee have been seeing Arun for about four years now. We think of him as not only a massage therapist but as a healer. He is truly amazing. Every time I leave his office, I feel like a new person. Not only do I feel better physically but also mentally. One cannot help but feel cared for and attended to while in his presence. After months and months of suggesting to my fiance that he see Arun, he finally did when his back became so severe that he was unable to go to work. After an hour with Arun he was able to walk to symphony hall and sit through a concert. Once you experience a massage from him, you will look no further. Honestly. He is that good. read more

I had a very nice massage here by Frederick. He was very nice and accommodating, but most importantly, he focused on exactly what I asked him to, which some places don't. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing, in a small office in Back Bay. I will definitely be a return customer, for the quality of the massage as well as the personality of Frederick! read more

Arun is a healer of body and spirit, and his techniques are unlike any massage therapist I have experienced throughout the world. He is attentive, professional, caring, and responsible. The deep tissue massages have restored this weightlifter's body. I am so grateful! read more

My husband missed his appointment for a pure mix-up of time, which genuinely can happen (and never happened to us for as long as I can remember). I called in to profusely apologize and see if we could reschedule. The man who answered told me they were booked all week and was rude on the phone. I asked for the next available date. He said he couldn't tell me as he was busy taking care of a customer who was buying a gift card. He even admonished my husband for not being there (after I apologized for the third time). Nonforgiving and not flexible - with his rude attitude, he's definitely lost our business. read more

I took a chance on a Groupon and ended up having a wonderful first experience at Integrative Body Therapies. As others said, Arun is very knowledgeable and professional. I had chosen the relaxation massage, since I wasn't sure what was best, but I was pleased that Arun chose to do some work with pressure points and alignment, which is what I needed. He then spent time giving me advice on some problems I've been having. I feel like I only scratched the surface of what he could do for me, so I definitely plan to return. read more

Arun from Integrative Body Therapies is truly an icon. He is ridiculously knowledgable in both eastern type medicines (reiki, chakra, aura, etc) and western type medicines (i.e. he works with hospitals and can perform state-of-the-art massage techniques for specific medical issues, like TMJ). He is super caring and skilled, and I really like working with him. He is the type of massage therapist you want to work with regularly. read more

Over the last year I've seen multiple physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists for SI joint dysfunction. After only telling Arun a tiny bit about the issues, he expertly pinpointed the areas that have been causing my pain and skillfully worked on them. Everything he said matched up with my physical therapists, and his blend of modalities worked well to target the different parts that impact SI joint problems. I greatly appreciate Arun's caring manner and how focused he is on what is going on with my body. read more

My massage with Frederick was truly one of the best massages I've ever gotten. He's very attentive to what you would like and provides an amazingly relaxing experience. I'll definitely be back! read more

Frederick was very thorough and made sure I was comfortable throughout my massage ! Our consultation beforehand made it very clear that he was a professional and experienced therapist - not to mention that he specifically has experience working with musicians with performance and overuse injuries, a rare find and a huge bonus for me ! I highly recommend getting a massage here. read more

Arun has been my massage therapist for an eternity, i.e. since the mid-1990s, and his skillful bodywork has keep me in physical and mental shape all this time. As a professional musician I have come to rely on his regenerating hands on a regular basis, counteracting the stresses of repetitive movement imposed by my instrument, as well as the general tension associated with daily life in this day and age. He has worked on many of my colleagues and friends, and is widely known in the artistic community of Boston as someone who will address the roots of muscular discomfort, without resorting to the pharmaceutical cover-ups so conveniently prescribed otherwise. A gently, caring, and kind spirit, he takes a genuine interest in anyone he works on, and after a decade-and-a-half of knowing him through life's ups and downs, there is always something interesting to ponder, philosophize, or just chat about, which I look forward to as part of a session. He is a true professional in his field, someone that will treat each client with the same spiritual warmth, code of respect, and personal investment in his/her well-being, whether its a busy professional looking for gentle relaxation, an athlete or performing artist in need of regular deep-muscular maintenance, or an overworked student that just wants to "chill" his brainwaves a bit..... read more

Frederick gave a great massage. Checked in about pressure, sore spots and at the end, he asked me if there were any spots I thought needed a little more attention. Really happy that I was able to try Integrative out and would definitely recommend them! read more

My treatment with Arun was fantastic, I can move my neck again! I'll be a regular for neuromuscular therapy from now on.

Arun is more than a fantastic massage therapist, his hands do magic, he's a wizard! I have been seeing him for about a year now to recover from my high running mileage. I have no doubt that he was instrumental in preparing me efficiently for the Boston Marathon this past spring and helped me recover faster and overcome some injuries that would have prevented me from competing entirely. I owe him a lot. He's also a great human being and I am sure you won't regret it! read more

Awesome massage by arun! The best I've ever had, I will definitely be back! Definitely recommend coming!

Frederick was kind, accommodating, and extremely adaptive. He really makes sure to give you what your body needs to feel relaxed/heal. During my session it was clear that he was knowledgeable because he taught me about my shoulder injury, explained what he was doing and why, and advised me on how to continue treating my injury on my own. He's an incredibly sweet person who cares less about money and more about healthcare so do not go anywhere else! He even sent me home with heating patches out of pure kindness. I've been raving about him since our appointment and I recommend him to anyone. He even offers a great student discount so even on a budget I'm going to make sure to have regular appointments with him because my body and mood have felt refreshed since seeing him. It was a pleasure visiting Frederick and I look forward to seeing him next! read more

Frederick was excellent. He is intuitive, very attentive and sensitive to what your body needs, offering just the right amount of pressure as needed. The room is decorated beautifully. Will recommend read more

Arun was very rude on the phone. I just called to ask his availability and fees. He though I was a scammer or something and started to yell at me...using profanity even. read more

After trying numerous other massage therapists in Boston, I have become one of Arun's loyal clients. I made an appointment with Arun after numerous recommendations from fellow runners. During marathon training, he has reduced the overall tightness that builds up from high mileage and also relieved specific injury induced pains. He takes time at the beginning of each appointment to discuss your needs and also review previous injuries. By maintaining a relationship and injury history he provides exceptional massage therapy. He combines his extensive knowledge of anatomy, massage therapy, and client history to create a personalized massage experience. His office is clean, organized, and welcoming. His demeanor is a balance of warmth and professionalism. I leave each appointment feeling refreshed and relaxed. The improvement I see in my running is immediate; increased flexibility and reduced injury time are just two of the major benefits. Visits to Arun have become an essential part of my training! read more

I highly recommend getting a massage with Rick. He was very professional, and made me feel comfortable from the beginning. He focused on what I asked, and I left feeling physically and mentally relaxed. I will definitely be going back. read more

My experience with Integrative Body Therapies has spanned many years. I go to see Arun whenever I need relief from pain and he always comes through for me. He is professional, polite, and skilled and I recommended many people to him who are also pleased with his amazing work. read more

I could not even wait an hour before putting up this review. I saw Frederick this morning after making an appointment just last night, and he was incredibly receptive to everything I asked just upon meeting him. He was very understanding when my Groupon for the appointment apparently ceased to exist due to an unknown complication during the online transaction process, and we smoothed it out right there at the office. So he earned relaxation points from me right off the bat. As a woman, I would like to announce that I usually seek a female massage therapist just out of subconscious comfort, but I was desperate for some deep tissue magic because of recent travel and work, and therefore he was the first male to work on me. And he is sincerely respectful, humble, and so incredibly knowledgeable in his craft. I would call it an art form. Never have I had a more thorough, considerate, and purposeful massage experience. I have a history of back problems, starting from when I was 16, and he offered true understanding and efforts towards my optimum experience during the time I was able to spend there. Genuine human experience, I really cannot compliment him enough. Now they don't have a 6-foot color-changing waterfall koi pond in their office... but they deserve more business than the places that do! Frederick offered home alleviation tips as he worked on different areas of high tension and really expressed his expertise in human anatomy in such an approachable way. Again, he was all about MY experience, so if you like to talk to your massage therapist, great, he makes lovely conversation; if you want to indulge in the silent evocation of your most relaxed and curative state, he would not be offended. To summarize before I break Yelp with this character count-- great guys, unmatched physical experience, no frills or feeling of over-pricing. If you need a bamboo replica of the Taj Mahal to feel relaxed, then this is not the place for you, but if you concern yourself with the quality of the investment you make for your body, then Integrative Body Therapies truly deserves all five of my stars. Thanks, Frederick!!! I WILL be back! read more

Arun is the absolute BEST masseur I have ever had. Not only he is the most knowledgeable, kind and caring - he is a true healer. I sometimes come to see him feeling completely broken, neck/stress issues, sports injuries and a back full of knots to the point that you feel like you cannot even think clearly as the pain becomes the only vivid reference to your brain - and he fixes me. with his firm healing touch, he really knows how to attack even those most delicate knots that hurt when you try to massage them yourself - he simply knows how to break them. You come out of there already a new healed person, and the next day - it's as if nothing even bothered you to beginning with - you are anew. I don't know how he does it - but he certainly has the magic touch. read more

After discovering Rick via a google search a few years ago, I have to say that he's been a very good find. Whenever I need a muscular massage and relaxation, I always feel much much better after an appointment with Rick. He uses a number of different techniques that treat the mind and body. The treatment Rick provides is very much a partnership - discussion before we begin about what's going on and during the treatment he checks to make sure pressure is ok, etc. Beyond his expertise and technique, the prices are very reasonable. And he's a super nice guy. And there are appointments on Saturdays. read more
