Would not recommend. It is expensive for a small unit the size of a closet! Rent increased in Jan 2024, and I just got a second notice that it's rising again in March 2024!!! I will now be paying $200 for a very small unit that holds basically one room worth of furniture!!!! read more

Hi, the folks that work here are nice and helpful, but, after only having my unit for 1.5 years, I've experienced 2 rate increases. I'm now paying $385 for a 10x15, inside unit, (more difficult to access down a haul way). I'd caution anyone considering renting here, to expect the rates to probably go even higher as time goes by. Sure, everyone's costs & expenses go up, but over 30% in less than 2 yrs. is too much, and I've found another close by for a more reasonable rate. read more

Instorage has increased their fees every year for the past three years. Their quality of service has not increased. I cannot understand what they claim is an increase in operating costs. WHAT COSTS??? It's a storage facility with one or two employees. Units are not climate controlled. Lighting is fair at best. read more

As a current renter at in storage YL (almost 2 years) . My first drive up unit building B at $262.00 a month was affordable. I went on vacation for a few months, I came back to find my unit leaked with some damage but, in storage Perry and Bob agreed I could move to another unit ( B building) at the same monthly payment. Feb. of 2022 I changed my auto payment before I left town for a few months. It was early May when when I called my bank and asked "why is my card declining my purchases"? IN STORAGE as of, Feb. 2022 increased my rent $100 without my knowledge. when I called and spoke to Perry he pro rated my unit and now I pay $310.00 How easy bread is forgotten. I should of filed a claim for the damage in my first unit. As far as my bank account goes.. I had to close it it was so messed up with overdraft fees. My advice... lesson learned, file a claim if your unit leaks and, do not leave a card on autopay. read more

I was new to Yorba Linda a few years ago and just stumbled upon InStorage. Since then, I've had two units, and referred my parents who also rented a unit. After the years of renting, I finally closed out my last unit yesterday. While I like the fact that I no longer need storage space and will now save a little money, I will miss the friendly interaction with the staff. It's rare these days to receive great customer service, so when you finally do, it's sad to see it end. InStorage Yorba Linda is the only storage company I will ever use so long as it makes sense geographically. The security is supported by obvious things like cameras, but also enforced with software that monitors the state of your unit's door. So the staff knows that your keypad code was used before your unit's door was opened. If your unit opens and the keypad wasn't used, the software is flagged and your unit blinks on a map on a display behind the counter. At least this is my understanding of how it works based on a conversation I had some years ago with the staff. In any case, I felt like my property was safe and that the staff was interested in keeping it safe. Most recently, I worked with Vivian in the office who is a great person to deal with. She is personable and professional, and someone who I wish could provide training to all front-facing employees in the country. If she was in charge of training, we'd all be much happier people. Give this woman a raise! I've also worked with Eddie, specifically when closing out my locker, and he was top-notch as well. There's a part-time employee named Pedro who I've encountered along the way. He is a very friendly guy who seems to work hard like everyone else at InStorage Yorba Linda. Long story short, there's a pattern of quality people here, as well as quality services. If you live in North Orange County, InStorage Yorba Linda is your only solid option. The facility is clean and the open with drive up storage units both upstairs and downstairs. The office is clean and they offer a wide range of sizes. There is also a free moving truck that can be reserved which includes a refrigerator dolly. Every unit is alarmed and monitored by 24 hr video which gives a great deal of sense of security. read more

Started storing at Instorage in December of last year. The young man that was there was really helpful and informative. He showed me from small closet ones to HUGE warehouse size ones! I went with a 10x15 to empty out my garage. He gave me a good deal and even let me rent out their moving truck! Which was only worth a few bucks of gas!$$ the whole move was a smooth and easy experience. I just emptied out and moved out of there since my garage better organized. The young lady that was there was just as nice, polite and helpful as the young man. This place has been wonderful to me and my family. I can not believe we kept our stuff here for so long. Vivian, pictured, is the worst possible manager. I got the owners phone number once and complained ( the sign said back in 15 min so I waited 45 to pay my bill. When she did so up she hurried in the back door and refused to open the front. I could see her in the back, and she knew I was watching, laughing and chatting with a friend. I left after a further 10 minutes and called the owner. We finally moved our stuff out on the tenth of the month. I had paid a month in advance as my mother had died and I didn't want to incur late fees while waiting for the estate to settle. She refused to give us any money back, even though we were told we would get some (we could have been out by the 10th)and would not give me the number so I could call the owner again. She runs the business according to her mood and that's never good. Go somewhere where they will appreciate you business and treat you like a valued customer read more

I too would give them a ZERO stars if I could. We have had a storage unit at InStorage since they opened. We have NEVER missed a payment and rolled with the yearly increases. We had been out of town for a few days and came home to open a letter saying that we had only made a partial payment and we needed to get our account current or a lien would be put on our unit. I immediately checked my auto bill pay and saw that they were paid in full and made a note to call and make sure all monies were applied correctly. I get my mail today to see that they have put a lien on my unit and I am locked out. I called immediately to get things straightened out and spoke with Jose...complete waste of time! Jose said that the manager Alex would not be in until Thursday and there was nothing he could do to unlock my unit. I was told that "they" have called me and left messages and sent letters regarding a "secure lease" charge they are now charging in addition to my monthly rate....100% NOT TRUE!!! Never received a phone message or letter regarding this "secure lease" charge. Told Jose to look at how long I have been a customer and my pay history and tell me that my account looks like someone who would ignore payment notices????? Unbelievable that they can just lock up my stuff! Beware before you put you items in this storage facility. (BTW...they have locked us out before saying they had not received payment. They are set up on auto pay with my bank that goes out on the 1st of every month....it just takes them two weeks to apply it). Poor way to do business! read more
