Stay away from this place. The last time I went there they forgot to install my front undercarriage tray. As I drove home a portion of the tray and screws flew off in the freeway then the back portion was rubbing on the floor while I drove all the way home. I took it back to them numerous times and the owner would not take responsibility for the damage made to my car. He initially offered to cover $100 for the repair, and I told him to pay for the full repair. That's when he started yelling and telling me to take him to court. Owner is a shady old guy and have no clue on how to maintain cars properly. I'll be filing complaints with all gov agencies on this business. read more

Service Date: 1/16/24 9am When I initially called to receive a quote and appointment from Instalube a week prior, I gave them my license plate number they told me it would cost $250 to SERVICE MY TRANSMISSION. In person the quote changed to 475 and I had to secure my appointment with a deposit. Compared to other prices I was okay with that. He told me that the service would take 5 hours and two machanics to complete the job. The Day of service on 1/16/2024, The manager tu had me sign the paperwork and I noticed the price increased and was $575 compared to the remaining $375 was only supposed to pay. I really needed my Transmission Service and trusted him and his mechanics. Me and my children waited at the shop for about 15 minutes. He told me the service would only take 2 hours, although he initially said it would take 5 hours to complete. I walked with my children until my vehicle was ready. When I returned he was explaining that my headlight was out and my battery was low. He said that my car has some electrical issues. Tu then said my price was $375, back to my original quote because he noticed I'm a mom and want to help. Started talking about his grandkids. After payment he did not hand me my keys. My car was started and ready for me to drive off. When I turned the corner my driver handle swung out towards me. I went back to the shop to explain the damage they caused and my safety issue. He told me to come back so he could take a look and fix it the next day. I went back the next morning and spoke with the son of his who broke my door handle. He said it was an electrical issue. I explained my car fire was never damaged until Insta Lube serviced my car. The man hands were shaking. I told him I understand accidents happen but you're responsible to repair my door. The dad/ manager Tu came out and told me to come back at 1pm. I returned, he then said it's normal wear and tear & the if I buy the part he would repair it for $99. Clear act of racial discrimination. Insta Lube service is not trust worthy. They let me drive off knowingly that they damaged my car and left me unsafe. Now I have to unlock my door, roll my window down and open my driver door from the outside. When I left I expected to give them a good review. I even gave Instalube a chance to fix what they broke. They refused accountability and they have cameras to prove I'm not wrong. Very Disappointed and unsatified with how they handled my consumer concern. This has be been my go to spot since 2015 they have never missed or failed me. I always get my oil changes on my Honda Civic and it's always consistent. They treat me with so much respect and they're always so kind. Chris is the man! He always takes care of my two cars. These guys are affordable and they always show me my oil and parts when I need something replaced. I drive all the way from Union city. In and out in 10 minutes. They gave me two options for oil. Synthetic for $49 or fully synthetic for $7x. I opted for the cheaper one for my Honda Odyssey. Within minutes they finished changing the oil and showed me the dipstick has no oil on it which means my tank is out of oil down to the bottom. Yes I know. I usually try to make the drive back to SoCal to go to my boyfriend's uncles' shop. As a girl (who knows nothing about cars), I worry about people overcharging me for something as simple as an oil change. I called in to try to schedule an appointment the Friday before I brought my car in on Monday and they said they don't make appointments- you simply bring your car in. I was a little worried it would be super busy when I brought my car in, but they worked on it right away! This place gave me one of, if not THE BEST customer service experiences I have ever had. I went to Oil Changers 20 days ago and paid $200 to have my oil changed on my Jeep Renegade. That is a lot of money, but they also put air in my tires so it was fine. FF to today. I woke up to a shaky car that was leaking oil all over the Bay Area by 7 am. The oil was clean and not burning but the car was nearly bone dry when my husband discovered it. In a panic I parked at the Insta Lube and waited until 8 AM when they would open. I was nervous. Terrified even. Who knows how much it will even cost just to get a diagnosis? What if this limited service shop can't help me? At 7:50 a man arrived at Insta Lube. He saw me and smiled, mouthing "good morning" as I waited in front of the locked shop. He was an older man with a very kind face and he moved with the speed of an athlete. I watched him open the shop in 5 minutes with fluid motion and efficiency. As employees trickled in he greeted them and they all got into their positions quickly. I noticed how well stocked and organized the shop was. The man with the kind face came to welcome me at 8AM sharp and told me to pull into the bay. He was so warm and concerned! I told him my issue and he assured me he would do his best. After bringing the guys up to speed they immediately got to work and quickly repaired the problem. Apparently the oil filter was old and the gasket was leaking. They replaced the faulty filter, refilled the oil and turned my check engine lamp off. I was so relieved that I could get the car fixed right away, I was ready to pay him well for such great service. When I went to pay, the kind-faced man fist bumped me and told me he appreciated my business so I didn't need to pay. I thanked him. I got back in my car and let it sink in, and immediately got back out to ask if I could swipe my card to tip the men that helped me. Another man (whose name I also didn't gather) approached me when he saw me looking confused. I begged him to let me pay a tip or something to show my appreciation. He said my smile was enough! I can't say that I've ever had better service. I also noticed a man waiting at the shop, even before I got there around 7 AM. I thought he was a customer, but it turned out he was an employee on his first day, showed up super early and got right to work like a champ. We sat in the car told the guy we wanted an oil change, head light replacement, transmission flush, and a brake inspection. The guys at Insta Lube are great. I've been coming to them for years with my standard gasoline engine vehicles and I just brought my new turbodiesel engine vehicle yesterday for my first oil change since purchasing. For my previous vehicles it was always about $80ish every 3,000 miles. For my newer turbodiesel it's $140 every 7,000 miles so I believe this is a decent value. The quality of service was excellent, they put the sticker on my door jam instead of the window as I requested and took the time to reset the service modules within my infotainment system, though it was a bit confusing he was able to get it all worked out. On top of this, I was only charged $120 due to confusion regarding the oil filter price and he didn't attempt to collect the other $20 because it was an error on their part. I will continue to bring my vehicle to this location, great guys. read more

Hands down the best oil change experience! I usually go to Midas next to Southland Mall to get my oil change but they are always so busy so I decided to change it up and try this place mainly because of the awesome reviews! The workers are super friendly and service was fast! Best part was that I didn't have to haul my kids out of the car for them to do their work. We drove in and there was a guy underneath who started working on the car while I handled all the paperwork! After selecting Full synthetic it was cool to see them open the cartons in front of you and fill all of them in. They showed me the oil stick before and after our service which was nice. I've been coming here for the past 2 years now. They are super quick! Not only that, but they are efficient in what they do. They show you the before + after and tell you what they're changing, too. I brought in my own oil and filter, they only charged me $20. They also told me that my air cabin filter was dirty too, so they switched it for a new one for another $20. As I was leaving, my tire pressure light came on and they fixed it for free! They're so knowledgeable and have the best customer service!!
