As promised in my last review from 2022, my husband and I returned to Silver Cloud for a staycation…read moreand booked one of the jacuzzi rooms. Highly recommend, and completely worth the price tag. Since we've stayed here before, we were pretty clear on what to expect. Check in was smooth, the valet staff were super nice, and we had a fantastic stay. The jacuzzi room is definitely spendy, but we were dead set on it. My husband and I started a tradition a few years ago where we nixed Christmas presents and decided to book 2-3 day vacations instead. With this being our belated gift to each other, we knew we wanted to splurge. I'm fully convinced there isn't a room here that has a bad view. We had sweeping views of the water and once the fog lifted in the morning, it was gorgeous! The jacuzzi tub is a little finicky to get the temperature correct, but once we had that figured out it was great. It takes a bit to fill up (about 20 minutes) so just be ready. Silver Cloud at Ruston definitely is a little on the pricier side, but it's entirely worth it in my opinion!

My daughter and I just got back from a 3 night stay. I cannot recommend this place enough!!…read more The good- The beds are sooooo COMFORTABLE! Maybe the best bed I've slept on in a hotel and I'm comparing to 5 star and 5 diamond resorts. Simply so comfy from the mattress to the pillows to the bedding. Top notch. The only recommendation I would make is for the staff to use fragrance free detergent. Aside from that, the beds are perfection. The rooms are CLEAN. I am very particular about cleanliness and usually base my hotel choice on who has the best reputation. This place was spotless daily. Love the two little windows that open in the rooms. It is so nice to have fresh air come in to the room. The gym is very nice. New, clean equipment, a nice bathroon, and filtered water available. The downsides- Only valet available. If you're like me and come and go all day, just park in the structure across the street during the day. Valet at night. No room service. This isn't the end of the world. Call the restaurant downstairs to ask for take away. They are sweet and have things ready quickly.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Silver Cloud Hotel in Ruston, and by "pleasure," I…read moremean a full-contact endurance experience. Let's start with the parking lot, which appears to have been designed exclusively for clown cars or perhaps very optimistic compact vehicles. If you're driving anything larger than a shoebox, prepare for a thrilling game of "will this fit," followed by a graceful 17-point turn. The rooms are described as comfortable, which I assume is hospitality code for "cozy if you don't inhale too deeply." Spacious is not a word I would use unless we are comparing it to a broom closet. Now, if you enjoy saunas but wish they came without consent, you're in luck. My heater was stuck at a steady 78 degrees day and night, turning my room into a tropical retreat I never asked for. To their credit, they did move me... to a room where I could enjoy the next feature. Trains. Loud, proud, earth-shaking trains. All day. All night. Not "in the distance" trains, but "is there a locomotive in my hallway" trains. If you've ever wanted to feel like you're sleeping directly on a railroad track, this is your moment. There is technically a water view, which sounds lovely until you realize the parking lot sits right below your window. So when you open the blinds, you're not just enjoying the scenery, you're starring in it. Breakfast was... ambitious. I would have gladly paid extra for something edible, or at least something that didn't feel like it lost a fight with a microwave. After working a very long night, I thought maybe, just maybe, there'd be a small gesture of goodwill like a late checkout. Instead, I was told they had 68 checkouts that day, which apparently made flexibility impossible. No apology, no acknowledgment of the sauna experience, no effort to make it right. Just a firm "time to go." All things considered, I'd rate this stay somewhere between a 1 and a 2 out of 5. I won't be returning, and consider this your friendly warning: if you stay here, bring a small car, earplugs, and a strong sense of humor.

Clean facility, rooms, and common areas. Nice people working there…read more A few things to be aware of: 1. In the quest to save money on electricity, the hotel has installed brilliant blue-white LED lights in most room lamps and all bathroom fixtures. Terrible idea. Why is this mentioned? If you're waking up, it's great -- but if you're trying to get some sleep, that frequency of visible light screams "WAKE UP!" Even though you're feeling tired, the light unavoidably wakes up your brain and body. Terrible idea. Hint: put warmer (white light shifted toward the red end of the spectrum) in the lights in the bedroom, and perhaps (if equipped) an overhead light in the loo, so your guests aren't robbed of sleep. Did I mention that this is a terrible idea? Minus one point. 2. The parking slots are on a slight incline. Why does this matter? There is no brake on the luggage carts, and if you're there alone (or solo-loading the bags onto the cart), it's exciting to have to chase the cart as it rolls away -- toward other cars. Unload your vehicle at the hotel entrance, or risk your 50-pound suitcases meeting the nearby expensive-to-fix Mercedes or Beemer. 3. The breakfast buffet: very unexciting. The coffee? Mehhh. Condiments? Almost non-existent. The few dollars in the tip jar? Find a Starbucks or Peet's.

I was looking for a local room to rest in after a long and stressful day…read more All I really wanted was a hot bath and a comfortable bed. I arrived and was greeted by staff with a glass of wine which was quite nice. I ventured out and grabbed some food to bring back to my room to eat. Many places to choose from nearby. At last.... My hot bath.... Nope.... The plug in the tub did not work and did not even appear to be the correct plug for that drain. I visited the office and the gal came to my room to have a look. She said she would call her mgr and get back to me. 30 minutes later... no call and no bath. I called the office and explained my situation and told her I would expect some type of compensation. I took a shower (not my thing before bed) and tried to go to sleep. The heat/ac in that room is either on or off. If I turned on the AC it ran nonstop and was very loud. I slept with it off and was sweating all night.... No happy medium. When I checked out the next morning I, again, mentioned the bath tub situation. The person working said she didn't think she could do anything more for me since I got a "discounted rate to begin with" and I responded that I had no bath and she responded "well, you had a shower!" She knew I wasn't happy and offered $10 off at which point, I was insulted, and told her I would be writing a review that would probably not be very pretty. As I was walking out she was saying.... ma'am, I'm trying to work with you; what would you like me to do? I left. The next day I got an updated invoice with a bit more off the bill than the $10 offered. Bottom line, if they gave me a "discounted rate" when I booked does that mean everything in the room should not be functional? I think not. I have a video of the tub/plug situation but was unable to upload it.

The hotel interior is absolutely beautiful and serene - sophisticated and colorful art graces each hallway. The lobby is spacious and comforting. The location is primetime Tacoma, walking distance to the convention center (1 block), Pantages Theater/Rialto Theater (2 blocks) and many restaurants. I actually think if they updated their *exterior* it would take this hotel to a 5 star hotel. It seems a bit dated outside, but walking inside is a breath of fresh air! The room was clean and updated. Housekeeping was done daily (we stayed for 3 nights) and top notch. Gym was good.. 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, a bike, a full free weights rack and two other machines, 1 weight bench. Each time I went to the gym, I was alone, so thumbs up from me for accessibility. *Runners know, however... the treadmills were on a 0.5-1.0 incline which is pretty much death. :) Not sure if it's the floor or the treadmills themselves, but they're both on a slight hill. Parking was easy, and they provided a nightly discount for our conference! Thank you to Hotel Murano and their manager for this. Beautiful place, great location, good price - would definitely stay here again.

We immediately inspected the mattresses and contacted the front desk. The staff offered to move us to another room, but after thoroughly checking our room and finding no additional bugs or signs of infestation, we still felt uneasy about the possibility that another room could be worse. Given the late hour and the difficulty of finding another hotel, we decided to remain awake in the room until daylight. We carefully rechecked the entire room and, thankfully, found no more evidence of infestation. We also thoroughly inspected all of our belongings and temporarily moved them to the bathroom while waiting for the front desk manager to arrive. I'm honestly not sure which would be worse--a tick or a bed bug. If it was a tick, does that mean the sheets weren't changed? Update -- March 4, 2026 (approx. 6:00 PM): When I spoke with the front desk staff around 2:30 AM and again at approximately 6:30 AM, I was told that the manager would be reaching out to me. I returned to the front desk around 8:00 AM and spoke with another staff member, who informed me that the manager, Anthony, had not arrived yet. I requested that he call me back. As of 5:47 PM, I have still not been contacted by anyone from Hotel Murano. However, I was charged over $222 for the night, despite this being the worst hotel experience we have ever had.
