This is our favorite getaway. It's an easy drive from the Seattle area, the rooms are unique and charming, the owner Hirsch is the sweetest, and the breakfast is served hot to your room in a basket so you can keep being alone and relaxed. There are two rooms with massive tubs in them that we always stay in, you have a sweet gas fireplace and there are lovely views you are invited to explore all over. This is a wonderful romantic getaway, and would also be a specular choice to stay in before or after doing the very close Mt Si or Little Si trails. A luxurious and delightful base camp! read more

The positive. The hosts are lovely people. Very friendly and helpful. Their breakfast was as good as or better than any 5 star hotel. They served a large portion of frittata (had bacon if that an issue), a slice of heavenly blueberry bread that was super light like a fluffy muffin, fresh fruit - grapes, strawberries & cherries and orange juice. Breakfast could not have been better. The TV, albeit tiny, worked well as did the internet. The room was furnished in a very cute homey style. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable but we would have like a heavier blanket. The not so positive. We stayed in the Tall Firs room. It is located underneath another room, so we could hear folks walking around above us. The bathroom smelled like mildew. I couldn't see mold but there was an area that looked like it was rotting under the paint. The shower is very tiny, as is the small chamber where the toilet was squeezed in. With the door shut the mildew smell was less noticeable or maybe we just got used to it. Recommend you ask for upstairs room, if available. And don't eat anything before they serve breakfast as the food is ample and delicious. read more

Instead, you'll find an amazing B&B that overlooks a bend in the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie that does indeed roar nonstop. Great hike to the river. Perfect hosts that bring breakfast to your room. Staff / Office Experience: Arrived at office to check in and get away from it all, only to have Fox News blaring at me. I'm not mad at Fox News at all, I'm mad that POLITICS! was the first thing I saw when I arrived at full volume at a getaway. Room Transfer - When I arrived and checked in I asked about room transfer for next day since one room was only open for one day and told to ask the woman who will be there in the morning the next day after breakfast since 'he doesn't know that stuff'. The next morning after breakfast form about 9am - 11 am I called a handful of times and no one answered, so I left a message two times still with no response I walked to the front office every half hour from 9am to find no one in the front office. I stood in the middle of the grounds for 10 mins waiting to see anyone but there was no one. At 11am I went to the office to check out but no one was there nor was there any sign about how to check out (nor did I receive any instructions when I checked in, I had to literally look it up on your website what time checkout was). At 11am I decided I had to take all my belongings to my vehicle since no one was around only to find a women asleep in her car next to my car. I knocked on her door to wake her up and then she confirmed she worked here and would help me. She went to the office to get the Rock and Rose room key saying we can leave our stuff in there and come back later in the day during which she dropped her vape pen twice and seemed out of sorts (high sleeping in car?). Common areas experience: Coffee and Tea room had no mugs or stirrers for the coffee and tea so I had to go to the office, where the man has no idea what to do but found some mugs around and said we can use them. All tables and chairs throughout the site covered in animal droppings and fallen pine. In the morning I had to go to town to buy Lysol wipes (I would of asked the front office if there were any cleaning supplies available but no one was available in person or by phone from from early morning, literally we were the only ones on site so I cleaned everything by myself). We went to the shed area where there is some type of fire pit, would of loved to of known if and how we can use it since it had signs of active use, but no instructions, and again, no one around to answer any questions or help. The Mountain Room: There was only one mostly used toilet paper role in the room, and when we discovered this in the morning, with no one around, I had to go to town to buy a pack. One of the air outlets in the hot tub is visibly broken. The shower heads water pressure is not powerful enough, or, the shower heads were filled with deposits too much, so the water to reach above abdomen level if you stand in the middle for both shower head streams to hit you. Window blind not customized around room AC outlet, and since AC outlet causes the blinds to stay in a very obtrusive position, the room interior is visible from the outside. Side window is only partially covered by privacy decal but not fully so it is still possible to see in clearly, and no blinds to cover the side window. Rock and Rose Room: Spider webs around the rock in room. Killed 3 spiders during one night. Woke up with two spider bites. Sauna problems - Sauna window had penis drawing appear when fogged up (left by previous user or staff?). No instructions on how to use sauna (had to call office for them to be brought over). Spider webs throughout sauna including a variable mess of them under the benches. Left very real doubt that the sauna is actively cleaned. Curtain covering door window is sheer so you cannot see out when lights are on inside but anyone can see in. Front door lock feels like it's handing on by a thread. No water in fridge after sauna (had to call office for them to be brought over). Again this day, there was no one around in the morning, only a sign this time saying leave the keys in the room to anyone. Overall it felt like no one really cared about their property or the experience. It made us feel the story and info on the website was complete soulless marketing and only a money grab. All edges were rough and dirty, figurative and literally. I really wish I was somewhere where people showed they really cared. I have never had to go to town to get base necessities like toilet paper when at a BnB. I felt cheated of my money and a waste of an anniversary get away. My wife, because of the weird window blinds and sheer window covering, never felt comfortable and was happy to leave when we did. Literally if you posted this on AirBNB, drastically reduced the price, and said it was a self guided experience then it would fit the bill. Lastly I got an email form them asking for feedback but never received a follow up email when I told them of the issues I encountered. Just another reason to hate my time with this place. read more

Just returned, very reluctantly, from one gorgeous scene-- The Roaring River B&B has absolutely stunning views and sounds for those nature lovers out there. The river will lull you to sleep and greet you cheerfully in the morning. Speaking of morning, you also get a substantially yummy breakfast in a basket delivered to your door. Now, this B&B ain't for beginners. The hubby and I spent an entire year and half on a little business adventure surrounding B&B's, so you really have to be "into" this sort of thing. People I've spoken with who have said that their least favorite thing about B&B's is having to sit with strangers and possibly force conversation over breakfast (something we actually *like* doing) will be delighted to know that you are eating in the privacy of your own room at Roaring River with only your love muffin and breath-taking views to keep you company. We stayed in two different rooms- the "Mountain Retreat" & the "Rock 'n Rose". They were both lovely and ample but the latter has something we've never seen elsewhere-- your very own sauna and giant boulder (I guess they built the room around the boulder, hence the "rock"). There are super duper awesome hikes and walks just outside your door and the total cost of staying here is significantly less than your average trendy hotel (chain or no). Even though we felt like we were eons from civilization, there is free Wi-Fi (for those who never stop working) and every satellite TV channel you could possibly "need". We can't wait to go back! read more

The first words upon walking into our room were, "So, can we live here?" We were only able to stay one night, but would stay 100 more if we had the chance. Right when you drive up, the scenery is breathtaking. The river rushing below you, the mountains in the distance framed by trees, and the subtle landscaping make you feel calm and welcome. Then, upon walking into our room (Herb's Cabin), we were greeted with softly playing music, a bowl of M&Ms, and a feeling of being home :) The decor of the cabin was both appropriate and not overwhelming. There were little touches everywhere that we were still finding the next morning. The bed was comfortable, the towels soft, and everything else was nothing short of perfect. In the morning I woke up, brewed some coffee right there in the room, and sat outside on the deck for over an hour just watching squirrels run around and listening to the river. When we got breakfast (delivered right at 8:30, in a basket), we ate on the porch just taking everything in. The food was wonderful. We had a fluffy pastry with berries and yogurt and fresh orange juice. As a bit of a back story, we did have problems getting to the B&B. Our car kept over-heating and it was really stressful - we arrived later than expected because we had to keep stopping to let the car cool down. Peggy and Herschel were very understanding of this and gave us the number of a wonderful local pizza place so we could get some dinner without going back into town. In the morning before we left, Peggy offered us three milk jugs full of water for the trip home, just in case. The Roaring River B&B is a real treat. It is calming and romantic and the innkeepers are fantastic. I highly recommend a stay here, and will definitely be back. read more

5 stars doesn't do this place justice! We stayed in the Rock and Rose room, which has a sauna and an amazing private deck area. This room is contained in the basement area of the main house where you check in/out. The Godiva chocolates were a nice touch, as were the bottles of water. Plenty of towels in the room, and they even have custom made soaps for their B&B, how cute! The breakfast was nothing short of amazing, and it arrives at your door every morning in a picnic basket. I could go on and on, but I won't because I want you to check it out for yourself. When in North Bend for a day hike, Snoqualmie visit, or just to get away, PLEASE stay here. If I could give this place a ten star review I totally would because that's how amazing this place was!! When we first arrived to our room there was music already playing, a tiny cup full of m&ms, and the decor was beautiful and felt really homey. The scenery outside of the rooms took our breath away! They deliver fresh breakfast in a cute basket. Our favorite was the French toast, sausage, and scrambled eggs. Although we didn't get to enjoy our third breakfast since my husband had to go to work (bummed out about that) I'm sure it would've been just as amazing. Wow! Just wow!! I came to Washington to run the Tunnel Light Marathon and chose to stay here because it was close to the finish line. Now I would come back to Seattle just to stay here again. It is the most serene, idillic place with a beautiful view of the Roaring River. I stayed in the Bear Iris Room and it had the most comfortable bed, pillow and sheets than any other hotel I have every stayed in. It also had a jacuzzi tub which was perfect for relaxing my muscles before the race. The serve breakfast to your room - french toast, sausage and a side of fruit, which my husband got to enjoy, I was already running at this point. Peggy and Herschel were also very accommodating when I finished my race and took a little longer to check out. Bonus: Herschel is a Boston Marathon alum so that should tell you how awesome they are right there! read more

We stayed in the Rock & Rose room, which ended up being perfect for the two of us! The room is underneath the home of the gracious hosts, and from what I could tell was by far the most private. This is a must visit Bed & Breakfast! This is our second visit and we can't wait to come back in the future. This precious B&B is in a breath taking location, with awesome rooms, and delicious food. The B&B over looks the River. Depending on your room you can see the river. There are awesome walks you can take to explore take in the view. Our hosts provide lots of sitting areas to soak in the sounds of the river. The room we were in was the Bear Iris room. It has an awesome Japanese soaking tub, view of the river, COMFORTABLE bed, and a bunch of items to help make your stay cozy. The fireplace is probably my favorite thing, after the soaking tub! The breakfast comes to you in a basket in the morning hand delivered by the hosts! You can tell they love to cook and enjoy hosting others. The food is super good! Lots of little options. You get a lot for what you pay for. It is competitively priced and worth every penny!! We have recommended the place to friends and they have loved it as well. Need an awesome weekend romantic getaway? May I suggest the Roaring River B&B? We booked a room at the last minute and got an even better deal than what's listed on their website. It took less than an hour to get there from Seattle. The B&B is right at the trailhead for Mt. Si. We spent the day hiking and then at night relaxed in the Japanese soaking tub in our room. Ahh, that's the life. In the morning, the owner, Herschel, brought breakfast in a picnic basket to our room. There's no communal dining room, like in many B&Bs. So you really do have that romantic privacy from start to finish. read more

We stayed in the Bear Iris room for a couple nights during the Twin Peaks Festival and satisfaction doesn't even begin to describe this lodging experience. The owners are warm and friendly (as is their cat!). The location set the tone for our weekend perfectly ("Man, smell those trees!"). Breakfast was INCREDIBLE (fresh berries with REAL cream??) and filling, with a real home-style touch. My nephew is a bear fanatic and was thrilled with all the pictures we showed him upon our return (the bear eating a fish on the bathroom wallpaper was his personal favorite). Heck, even the shampoo and soaps were to our liking. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough. read more

This place is Beautiful!! This B&B is unique as it has individual rooms on the property overlooking the Snoqualmie River. One of the rooms has a large rock built into the side of the room with a sauna attached to the other side! Breakfast was delicious. The owners are really nice and care about everything. They even let our 1 year old daughter stay as well... which some B&B's have a problem with but since the rooms are separate and private it accommodates to everyone. If I could give these guys more than 5 stars, I wouldn't hesitate to! The views are beautiful and the rooms are so nice, but that is barely scratching the surface of what makes this place so great. Peggy and Herschel are so so wonderful, it's clear they've been doing this for a long time and still love it. The breakfasts (presumably cooked by Peggy and delivered by Herschel each morning) are delicious, from the fresh berries and cream to the baked eggs to the corn fritters to the fresh orange juice. We've stayed in both the tall firs room and the bear and iris room. Both are wonderful, but the bear and iris room has a huge whirlpool tub that is great to soak in after a long day of skiing at Snoqualmie. This is such a lovely property, situated high above the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River, which babbles and churns and can be heard from every room just by cracking the window a bit. If you are looking for an extremely comfortable bed, gorgeous views of mountains/river/tall trees, privacy, and an amazing gourmet basket-delivered breakfast, then this is the place for you! They've even built a little deck and warm up hut for those wanting to drink their coffee overlooking the river. North Bend also has one of the best Italian restaurants, Il Paesano, down the road, plus a tasting room (The Wildflower), a winery (Piccola Cellars), and a creperie (Euro Lounge Café) whose owner makes a mean Turkish coffee!
