Stayed after a surgery which was just 2 minutes away. Checking in was simple and unique. Given a code by email to unlock the door when we arrived. Snacks were supplied . Quite a bit of snacks. Fabulous Inn! Can't say enough about it. We had one of the Waterfront Rooms. A gorgeous view from a lovely room with french doors that open to your own patio steps from the harbor. Also, a private big deck over the water, with comfortable seating for all Inn guests. Not only a beautiful view, but a great location as well. Great amenities like the most comfortable bed I've slept in; Keurig coffee maker; mini fridge; corner fireplace; nice bathroom. Even the artwork on the walls is an added touch. There is a convenient common room with a microwave, another coffee maker, glassware and snacks (yes, including microwave popcorn). There is no staff at the Inn, but Patsy, the Innkeeper (?) is terrific. If I needed anything, it would have been no problem. Very accommodating and excellent at communication. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Gig Harbor. read more

We just spent three delightful days and nights at the Waterfront Inn in Gig Harbor. When you're going to spend time in such a beautiful little harbor town, the best way to spend it is to find lodging with a view and that's close to dining and other things to do. The Waterfront Inn is right on... well... the waterfront! We stayed in the "Lighthouse" room, one of three one-bedroom rooms on the ground level. Each of these rooms have a small porch for sitting and beyond the porch it's just a short walk to their large pier, which also has multiple and comfortable chairs to just sit and enjoy the view. The room itself features a VERY comfortable bed and great pillows, plus two armchairs that all look out through the double doors (mostly glass) for a spectacular view. Amenities include a Keurig coffeemaker with multiple choices of coffee and tea pods, a small refrigerator, and a spacious bathroom. A door near the bathroom opens to a common area where you'll find ice, a microwave, another coffee maker, and various supplies, plus treats like breakfast bars and microwave popcorn packs. The room and everything about this little inn is in perfect/like new condition and super clean. With only a few rooms to rent, they only need a few parking places and some of them are on the street level and two of them are down the very steep but short driveway. Those two spots are easy to drive down to, but a little tricky to get out of. But our little 4X4 SUV had no trouble. Simply put... It was totally worth it to pay a little bit more than the surrounding hotels/inns to have such a fantastic bedroom right on the harbor. We would definitely choose to stay there again on our next visit to Gig Harbor. read more

Beautiful place and charming Inn! Easy check-in. And the rooms are super updated. Room was hot when entering. And feel like every room should have at least four towels. The front rooms get a lot of street noise and the room locks are super noisy when hearing people leaving and going. The coffee maker and hot water maker look like they have mold growing where the water goes. Lastly, I wish the staff was a little more friendly especially for not having a front desk. read more

There is nothing to complain about! Lovely little inn on the water, beautiful view, comfortable bed. The little amenities station in the hall was perfect and needed. I'm giving it 5 stars in comparison to other little Inns, BnB or the like, not in comparison to a fancy hotel. It's just exactly a perfect little getaway spot. We walked to town, had (late) breakfast at Devoted Kiss, and had a tasting at Heritage Distillery....went back to our room and listened to the rain through open door while sipping on award winning brown sugar bourbon on ice. We stayed here for two nights at the start of a 10-day trip in Washington. We loved Gig Harbor! The location of this inn cannot be beat! We stayed upstairs in the Lookout room, which was spacious and charming. The bedding was very nice but it may be time for a new mattress soon. Our favorite thing about the inn was its location and its private dock. It was easy to walk to breakfast and dinner and we enjoyed using the kayaks during the day. They recommend The Devoted Kiss for breakfast and Morso Wine Bar for dinner (you even get a discount!) and both were excellent! We really enjoyed our stay! read more

I love coming to the Waterfront Inn whenever I visit Gig Harbor! Such a perfect location right on the water. There is a large deck over the water that you can sit out on and kayaks you can use to explore the bay. The location is great, walking distance to all the restaurants and shops along the Harbor. I really enjoyed my stay at this cozy little inn. Things I liked: Gig Harbor, the fireplace, the bed was comfortable, the room off of the bedroom with the coffee and fridge was cute, accessible, and cozy. I thought the view was really pretty. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. Walking distance to shops and places to eat. Things that could be better: the interior could use some updating: the carpet and walls were a little dingy. The walls were underdecorated. The shower had weak water pressure and wasn't super hot. The bathroom was odd in general and could use some updating. It needs a little TLC, but we would totally go back. It was a nice experience. read more

We sailed right up to The Waterfront Inn! My husband and I sailed to Gig Harbor in October. We found out the temperature that night was going to be almost freezing. A local hotel near the pier was full. We found this place online. We called and they said "Yeah, we have dock space." So we sailed right up to our bed and breakfast. Reserved a room with their on-line service. Recieved confirmation. I sent wife a link showing her the nice place we were going for her birthday. She was ecstatic. Next day was called by inn saying there was computer error and that I did NOT have a room. Put me in quite a bind. Caller apologized but would have made it a bit more tolerable if the inn had a couple of other inn's phone numbers with vacanices. Also, a nice gesture would have been an offer to return with an upgrade or some discount to make up for their error. read more

Our new favorite getaway. The room, which is 20 ft from the water offers a fantastic view of Gig Harbor which just gets better after dark. The room furnishings are perfectly appointed without being overly flowery. Close to EVERYTHING Gig Harbor has to offer. Walking distance to great food and drink, and shops just around the corner. Dennis and Denise, our hosts were fantastic. Dennis even parked our car on the tricky sloped driveway! We will come back here in the summer to jump in the free kayaks and paddle around the harbor. The Waterfront Inn is only 40 minutes from our home, but we felt like we were completely "away" just for the night. read more

They charged our credit card at a different rate then they quoted, asked for a deposit which we they didn't return until we called and requested it be returned, and charged us for the use of their deck which we had been told was complimentary and no charge. read more

Lovely place, lovely views, lovely hosts. Denise and Dennis are fairly new to managing the place, and they're both wonderful. You need to know this is NOT a normal hotel. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and have air conditioning and a fireplace for warmth. However they have a communal area that is accessible from the rooms, and it works very well. I stayed here for two night to get away and check out the area. There are a lot of reasons for the five stars. The hospitality was fantastic and we were given some eating suggestions which took out the guess work. Many great choices in walking distance of the home.The location was amazing!! The room opens right to the water. There is a large dock to go out on and enjoy the sun or a nice bottle of wine. Evenings and mornings are that much more special with this type of view. The room we stayed in was clean and provided the perfect space for two. There is a large private bathroom which is hard to find in some B&B's. The price is very reasonable for what you are getting. Next time we will be bringing our road bikes as we noticed many bike lanes in the community. read more

I give it a one star only because there is not an option to go lower. We would never stay here again, nor would we recommend staying here. Although it had a beautiful view of the water and marina, the room was very small and less that what you would expect for $197.80 per night. There was no on street parking and to say that the drive way was a NIGHTMARE is a serious under statement . Had they had the courtesy to explain the parking when we called to make the reservation and PAY for the room we would have stayed elsewhere. Having already paid for the room a couple hours before we showed up made us unable to cancel the reservation and we were STUCK staying there. To explain the drive way, it was an extremely steep downward incline that was at least a 100 degree downward angle, it was a near vertical decent getting in there and the only spot they had available was at the end of the driveway on an even steeper incline in a space that was so small that I had to have my family get out of the car and WALK down the drive way in the rain because there was NOT ENOUGH ROOM to open the passenger door without hitting a very rusted metal wall barrier to the right of the car, I would say the only decent and level parking spot was the one in front of the garage door that kindly read DONOT PARK HERE!!! So after wedging my BMW into a spot that would at best hold a small Volvo, we unpacked the car and descended down a very wet and slick stair case to the rooms around the backside of the building,. At the time of making the reservation we were advised that the only room left was only suited for two and only had a queen bed, but that they could provide a roll away bed at an additional cost of $25, we were advised that this was included in the price making it a total of $197.80. The roll away that our son used was not something we would even use for a dog. The checkout time was 3:00pm the following afternoon, but due to the poor quality of the room we left bright and early at 8:00am, if this tells you something we arrived at 11:00pm and couldn't wait to leave. Now came the problem once again with the drive way, If we thought it was bad getting in there, It is even worse when trying to get out. I had to back up to turn my car around but could barely see, the visibility was severely limited, my wife had to direct me into the spot that said NO PARKING because there was absolutely no way that I could have backed my BMW all the way up that steep hill and into the road. This took at least 8 minutes to get me backed into that spot and the minute I was in it a lady came running out to tell me that I could not park there, had she taken the time to see that I was trying to back out and that we were guests she would have known, but no. In total after getting turned around it took me almost 10 minutes just to get out of their slick steep drive way because due to the incline my car just couldn't crest the top, and kept losing traction. Finally a gentlemen seeing that we were having so much trouble getting out of their drive way came out and told me that I had to STOMP on the gas and that it was the ONLY way I would get out of there and as soon as I did I was able to get out, but not without scraping my catalytic convertor and the bottom of my car on their drive way. This was a lovely addition to our stay here. And the final added bonus was that they never gave us a copy of the receipt, we never signed anything and the following Tuesday I noticed that they had charged my credit card twice once for $197.80 and a second for $25, I called the inn and left several messages and received no response, so I then called their corporate number listed on my credit card statement and spoke to their vacation rental department who advised that they could not tell me what the charge was because the inn had not put any notes on it which was strange, they then provided me with a second number which I called and left another message on. Finally on Friday evening I received a call back telling me that the additional charge was for the roll away cot, I explained that I was told that the additional cost was included in the quoted price and the response I received just floored me 'Huh, well I am not sure why they would have told you that. But think of it this way at least we didnt charge you tax on it", this is not a response you would expect from a business, and when I advised the lady that II had not received a receipt I was told it was emailed to me, when I explained that I had not received it and needed it for my records I was told that since they had email it once that she 'Guessed" that she could email it again, not sure why anyone would say they didnt receive a receipt when they did but what the hay.. I did finally receive the email receipt and on that copy it showed the price plus the roll away.. What a way to do business huh.. Anyhow, my recommendation DONT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT THESE PROBLEMS!!!! Very disappointing to say the least!!! read more

Starting with some ting positive, the location is bucolic. And the inn offers free kayaks to use. And that's it. The rooms are just not clean enough, the beds comfort life has long expired, we were not told that there is no daily cleanup service, and when I asked for towels, I was reminded that info on clean towels only on request was in a doc I had been given. But they did supply them so that's good. There was a common room that was not respected by other guests ( perhaps telling people what to expect and rules would help), so that was pretty unpleasant. The TV stopped working and I asked for it to be repaired. It was not, and that is ok, but not getting back to me to let me know, was not. There's a for sale sign on the rear of the property facing the water, so maybe they don't care, but we were pretty disappointed. Maybe just stopping by to see how we were doing after a day or 2 would have made the whole thing a little better. Inna should be friendlier than this. read more

I was one of those who discovered the charming, quaint and post-card worthy Waterfront Inn through the wonderful world of Groupon. I booked a two night stay for the "Boathouse", with a view looking directly out onto the harbor. I have to say, this was exactly what I was looking for and I had a very relaxing stay. Sue and Gary, the innkeepers, went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied -- Gary even picked me up and dropped me off at my bus/shuttle stop about two miles into town! My favorite part of the Inn was the quaint little backroom, stocked with coffee, tea, DVDs, books, magazines, and popcorn. Having freshly brewed coffee ten steps from where I awoke is always nice ;-) Bed was very comfortable; I slept like a baby. And I spent many hours lounging out on the dock, which has chairs and tables for relaxing and reading. There are kayaks to use (free of charge) as well, and the Inn is walking distance into the downtown area -- although there are a string of restaurants and breakfast places (you get a discount at a couple of them for staying at the Waterfront Inn), and a Market that is open late 5 minutes away (good, affordable sandwiches). All in all, if you are looking for a place to get away, Gig Harbor operates on another, more relaxing wavelength than most places, and for that, I can see myself returning to visit. I will definitely be staying at the Waterfront Inn when I come back. read more

We love the location and the beautiful private pier. Our concern was the lack of privacy. It was hot the day we arrived so had to have to door to our room open, as did everyone else. The other guests walked around the yard, we could see into each other's rooms. It would have helped a bit if there were shrubs or something dividing each space. The owners were wonderful. I have stayed at the Waterfront Inn a few times; in the walk- on- to the waterfront suite with it's stone fireplace and in a cozy suite with a view of the quaint town of Gig Harbor. It is a relaxing, peaceful and luxurious place to stay with wonderful views especially at night with the moon shining on the water and with the fresh salt air. I have enjoyed meeting other guests from all over the world. It is great to go out on a kayak trip to see the abundant wildlife; fish and fowl, in the peaceful bay.
