The check-in team was extremely helpful, professional, and friendly. We were upgrade from a King room to a King suite due to our Bonvoy membership. The room was very well appointed and clean, as are the other facilities in the hotel, The hotel is located just off I-5 with a McDinald's, Subway, a brew pub, a Thai restaurant and a few others within walking distance in the same plaza. McDinald's is our go-to restaurant on tias trips so it worked out perfectly for us. On the drive south a few days earlier, we were having our first breakfast on the trip at the McDonald's next to the hotel. My husband pointed out that this was the hotel we had made a reservation for the stay on the way back. It was meant to be and fitting that we would have our last dinner of our road trip at the same place.

The hotel was nicely kept and comfortable, with lots of options for the hotel soap/shampoo. Staff was friendly, parking was easy. We didn't have any of the cleanliness problems others have mentioned. The surrounding area seemed pretty cutesy, though to be honest we were only here for the night and didn't wander much. The best part was the free breakfast. Among our options were: - gluten free muffins - sausage gravy - pork sausage and turkey sausage - waffles and mini waffles - oatmeal - scrambled eggs and basic omelettes - hard boiled eggs - cereal, bagels, toast, tea, yogurt, pints of milk, fruits, etc I would definitely stay here again if I were going somewhere nearby, and I recommend it.

The lodge is maybe a quarter mile from the Mt. Rainier National Park entrance. As soon as we parked to check-in, Bob and Joe (Owners/Managers) made us feel welcome. The cabin we had was great. It was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The views were wonderful. It was so peaceful and quiet. A great place to relax and re-energize. While there, Bob and Joe shared their knowledge of Mt. Rainier and the surrounding area. Telling us the best places to eat, all about the mountain, where to go for pictures, trails to walk, best places to see wildlife, and so much more. They had a campfire one night and provided everything we needed to make Smores. Many of the guests came out to the campfire, enjoying the smores, the conversation, and the stars. It turned out that one couple had stayed there several times before. At the time we were there, the park required vehicles to carry snow chains. They rent chains at the lodge for half the price of the places you can rent them in town. Unfortunately, they didn't have our tire size but immediately offered to go purchase a set for us to rent. By far, Stone Creek lodge was the best place we stayed during our trip. If headed to the National Park or the Ashford area, we highly recommend Stone Creek Lodge.

Very close by the park so you'll see some wild life, we saw deer and a lot of birds. It still feels secluded even though it's near the entrance of the park, very peaceful place. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel itself was well kept. The breakfast was especially impressive. In addition to the usual breakfast items, they had someone making fresh omelets to order, along with sausage, bacon, pancakes, waffles, and a full breakfast bar. It was much better than the typical hotel breakfast and a great way to start the day. The staff was wonderful, especially Gina at the front desk. She was incredibly kind and welcoming when we arrived in the evening and made sure everything was taken care of for our stay. All around, a great place to stay and an easy recommendation if you're in Chehalis.

I have nothing but kind words for them. The building is well maintained and furnished. There is an indoor pool and hot tub. There is a nice dining area that serves breakfast every morning. They even offer omelets to order. I was staying in a suite on the third floor. I would like to say there was nice scenery from my window, but it was just the parking lot. Oh well, my view wasn't perfect but I didn't really have time to enjoy it either! I would not hesitate to stay here again if I was ever in the area again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Silver Cloud Hotel in Ruston, and by "pleasure," I…read moremean a full-contact endurance experience. Let's start with the parking lot, which appears to have been designed exclusively for clown cars or perhaps very optimistic compact vehicles. If you're driving anything larger than a shoebox, prepare for a thrilling game of "will this fit," followed by a graceful 17-point turn. The rooms are described as comfortable, which I assume is hospitality code for "cozy if you don't inhale too deeply." Spacious is not a word I would use unless we are comparing it to a broom closet. Now, if you enjoy saunas but wish they came without consent, you're in luck. My heater was stuck at a steady 78 degrees day and night, turning my room into a tropical retreat I never asked for. To their credit, they did move me... to a room where I could enjoy the next feature. Trains. Loud, proud, earth-shaking trains. All day. All night. Not "in the distance" trains, but "is there a locomotive in my hallway" trains. If you've ever wanted to feel like you're sleeping directly on a railroad track, this is your moment. There is technically a water view, which sounds lovely until you realize the parking lot sits right below your window. So when you open the blinds, you're not just enjoying the scenery, you're starring in it. Breakfast was... ambitious. I would have gladly paid extra for something edible, or at least something that didn't feel like it lost a fight with a microwave. After working a very long night, I thought maybe, just maybe, there'd be a small gesture of goodwill like a late checkout. Instead, I was told they had 68 checkouts that day, which apparently made flexibility impossible. No apology, no acknowledgment of the sauna experience, no effort to make it right. Just a firm "time to go." All things considered, I'd rate this stay somewhere between a 1 and a 2 out of 5. I won't be returning, and consider this your friendly warning: if you stay here, bring a small car, earplugs, and a strong sense of humor.
