I just visited the other day with my girlfriend and I must say I I am very, very disappointed! I had already reserved the "carriage suite" a week prior. When I arrived on the day of our reservation, there was nobody in sight to help us or give us any information about our room or any other services. Luckly, I had already been there in the past (2 years ago) and knew where my suite was. The door to the suite was open and I found the key lying on a table as I walked in. As if they didn't even care to great us or check us in. Like Cecil did, years ago. It took 45 minutes to fill the jacuzzi tub due to of lack of water pressure. As it was filling, I noticed long blonde strands of hair all over the tub! I had to drain and clean the tub and then fill it again. It had obviously not been cleaned prior to my arrival. As far as bed and breakfast, it didn't get any better! Our bed was absolutely terrible, the mattress was warped and it least 20 years old! The breakfast? Non existent! Apparently their kitchen was closed due to renovation. I saw the kitchen when I went to check out and it looked fine. No construction, whatsoever, and fully functional. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anybody. I will never go back to this once beautiful getaway ever again!

I slept very soundly and comfortably! It was just what I needed to reset. The owner Bev is a very sweet and hospitable person. She got me situated in the suite very quickly, offered me recommendations of nearby restaurants, and was available by phone if there were any issues (which there were not). The breakfast service is currently not available as they are renovating the main house, but I had a lovely tea and chat in the morning before checkout. Will definitely consider returning if I am in the area!

I had the top floor room (only one on the top). The dinning room is very nice, the atmosphere is great, the breakfast is good. And I'm very picky about places where i stay. The two owners are wonderful, ready to help and are doing a wonderful job keeping the place this nice. The house has been registered as a landmark. Now I know where to stay in Tacoma next time, or even skipping Seattle, it's well worth the drive to be in such a pleasant place. Also, you're just a few minutes from downtown (by car) and probably only a 15min walk. Highly recommended.

It would be nice if they have air refresher. My aunty fell because the floor was too slippery and there was no bath mat. We're not going to come back and not recommended. They charged us 77$ additional cleaning fee even though their instructions were not clear. They also want to charge 15$/dozen of oysters that we took home even though it was not included on house rules. Plus we never get oysters on the day we were there because of high tide. They treated us as thief. Asked if we take their bbq tongs that they missing. We washed and put it in the dishwasher. They should of check first before asking like people are stilling their stuff.

There is nothing available now, this was my last resort in the first place and now I am stuck. I'm in 12 hour work days on Saturday and Sunday and desperately need somewhere to stay so I don't have to tack a 2 hour commute to the beginning and end of my days. And now I am left with no option and 16 hour days. The explanation was "emergency situation", which is exactly what I'm now left with. Since booking, the experience has not been great. I booked via phone on 7/29 and was asked to send a check immediately, so I waited for an email. 4 days later when I was on vacation for my birthday I followed up and was finally given the information. She wanted me to mail a check the next day, but I didn't bring a checkbook on vacation, so I had to do the next best thing and utilize Bank of America's online system to mail a check. This usually takes a week since it's considered "bill pay". I was informed the check was delivered August 9th, and the money came out of my bank account, but she said it was not received. Not a huge deal, just had to call the bank and cancel it, so I sent another check. I had been waiting to hear that it arrived when I am woken up with a text this morning that my reservation is cancelled. So now my husband and I are scrambling and I have no idea what to do. We've already paid our pet sitter and he took the next 2 days off work. Losing money and being stuck is not a fun situation to be in.

We stayed in the Arbor Cottage because it was separate from the other rooms and was its own cottage. There was a nice little deck to enjoy, too. Perfect for playing a board game if you find that kind of thing romantic (maybe we are strange that way...). A jacuzzi is always nice, too. I don't recall this place costing as much when we went a few years back, so $175 seems a little high, but if you've got it to spend, this is a beautiful place to spend it, and taking the ferry to Vashon Island and just driving around is fun, too.

The owners, Sue and Scott, were friendly, respectful of our privacy, and very flexible and accommodating with regard to our arrival and departure times. It was lovely to be able to wake up in the morning and make breakfast in the kitchen without having to go to the grocery store first! The property itself is very scenic. We enjoyed visiting with the horse, and also loved the large vegetable garden! Sue and Scott gave us full access to the garden, and our second morning there, we picked shallots and kale from the garden to add to our scrambled eggs! We were fortunate to find this spot for our stay on Vashon Island (we were there for a wedding), and were so pleased!

Conveniently located and with a friendly, yet non-intrusive, host Judith, the Farm was a very relaxing and much-needed break from the monotonous stress of Covid life in the city. Five stars all around for me. With that said, I have to STRONGLY take issue with Linda S.'s review below, due to the incredibly enjoyable experience I had. I will address each complaint: a. It does not smell musty. It is an old house, what are you expecting it to smell like, a god-blessed perfume store? b. It's Vashon island. Nobody is gonna steal your stuff, Linda. And if you are so concerned, you can take valuables with you in the car you undoubtedly arrived in while away from the cottage. c. There is most certainly a latch on the bathroom door. d. There is a wall in the closet. Also even if there wasn't, when doors are closed, they are like a wall. The barn does not have people in it while you are sleeping anyways. e. This charming accommodation is run by a single proprietor. I'm not sure why Linda expected meal service in a rustic cottage on an island. Nowhere is the claim made this will be the case. I think the "you make both" joke is hilarious, I wish it were still there. f. Leaving the first dang night? Give the place a chance. Thank you for reading. Judith rocks and the cottage is spectacular, I will be returning.

Selecting…read moreWine and Roses as our venue was one of the first - and certainly best - decisions we made throughout the planning process. The entire property, and especially the barn, was flawless on the day of our wedding and there were so many gorgeous photo opportunities it was difficult to take advantage of them all. The farmhouse, cellar and tree house were perfect hangouts for us and our wedding party during the day, and many of my guests enjoyed exploring the beautiful grounds while taking a break from dancing. Whereas other venues had hidden fees and added costs, Wine and Roses provided all of the tables, chairs, facilities and transitions we needed, even going out of their way to request that draperies hung for another event the weekend before remain up for us to use free of charge. Johanna, the venue owner, was professional, flexible and easy to work with both leading up to and on the day of our wedding. Rather than see us as just another business arrangement at the tail end of her busiest season, Johanna demonstrated true commitment to making our day special, seamless and fun. Johanna was also able to provide some great recommendations and reviews as we selected our other vendors, which helped us put together a great team of experienced professionals for the day. Melissa, the venue coordinator, was responsive to all of our questions leading up to the big day, even going so far as to help us find ways to trim the budget without sacrificing the important details and special touches. For larger events, I would definitely recommend using Melissa's Jubilee Weddings services for set up and take down. For a very small charge, all set up, preparation and take-down was taken care of on the day of the wedding, giving my family and friends more time to simply enjoy the day. While I was at first concerned to learn that Melissa could not be on-site for our wedding day, she was careful to communicate all details to the day-of coordinator, Leslie, who did a fantastic job at implementing our vision and keeping the day on-schedule. Even our complicated centerpieces were set up perfectly and packed up carefully at the end of the night. While I'm confident that our wedding day would have been memorable regardless of the venue, the staff at Wine and Roses truly made the day's logistics run smoothly, always with our vision and our guests' comfort in mind, which allowed us to relax, focus on the moment and enjoy the day!
