On 2/28/24 or area was the recipient of severe storms with embedded heavy hail and high winds. Just east of us a tornado touched down in mostly open farmland and did extensive damage. The roof Ron's Roofing installed on our home went through the storm unscathed according to the inspector who was here today. Neighbors who had roofs installed after ours have to have new roofs installed subsequent to this storm. We would recommend Ron's Roofing to anyone who asks for a recommendation.

Even with a lack of communication, it should be understood that this home is MINE, and does not belong to your inspectors. They are not entitled to come in my home any time just because they were hired by buyers. I did not appreciate that he had no respect for PRIVATE PROPERTY. The inspector allowed the buyers to bring a group of family members in four separate cars into my home. They treated my house like a public facility--using my personal toiletries, towels, and bathrooms without permission. I did not appreciate that no one was told to STAY IN THEIR CAR. How many onlookers does your staff need in an inspection??? I did not appreciate the said unwanted family members scraping their boots on the sidewalk before entering MY CLEAN HOME as if the home was already theirs and they could come and go as they pleased. They were obviously not helping the inspector with anything, they were just at my home to relax and invade my privacy. Most alarmingly, I discovered at 7:00 PM that my refrigerator/freezer had been shut off at the breaker. This level of carelessness could have resulted in significant property damage / food loss. When I was finally able to read the end result inspection list to my home buyers, it was noted that 2 breakers in the kitchen were not working, The inspector, Mark, shut the BREAKER OFF TO THE WHOLE KITCHEN, then requested that a licensed electrician come and fix them. I AM AN ELECTRICIAN. Wow ! Is this how you drive away home buyers ??? With stupidity? I am a licensed IBEW electrician. Would I honestly live here 11 yrs with broken outlets ??? And I really did not appreciate the inspector, Mark Ballge, allowing his clients, the buyers, and added family members, who did NOT OWN MY HOME, to come in and make themselves comfortable, forcing and wasting another extra hour of time into MY heavy schedule. They were not invited by ME into MY HOME and I should have been warned about this set up thru my realtor. Once again, they should have BEEN TOLD TO LEAVE. My house is a hundred years old so a fifteen year warranty sold me. Their estimate was right what I expected it would cost. My only complaint would be that I would of appreciated more information about charging me a credit card fee on my deposit. Although it was on the estimate, I must of missed it. It cost me an extra $355 for that mistake.

It is March 13, 2026 and they were here again about 2 - 3 weeks ago to fix the soffits again and now with strong winds the large triangle at the peak of my house (Historic Committee said they had to put it up there) has come down. Hoping we don't get rain, because it will probably leak down my walls. My husband left a message, just waiting to see if they call back Monday. Someone from Roach came by today (March 14, 2026) and said that they would put the piece back up. Apparently the crew that put it up in 2023 used nails that was too small.

Update to our review: After more than two years of attempting to get our multiple roof leaks…read moreresolved with Tichenor, Inc. / Battle Creek Roofing, and their ultimate refusal to honor their warranty; we filed a claim with the manufacturer Owens Corning. Two independent inspections were completed by Owens Corning and they determined that the workmanship completed by Tichenor Inc. / Battle Creek Roofing was so incompetent that the entire roof had to be re-roofed. During this process we discovered multiple installation errors that caused additional wood rot, including some sections which had never been nailed. Although Owens Corning is paying for the re-roofing, we have endured three years of damage to the inside of our home, countless hours of lost work, and additional expenses to resolve this issue. Heath Tichenor refused to re-roof when we requested, instead he blamed our roof, his crew, and global warming for the constant leaks. He was, at best condescending and unhelpful while trying to get this issue resolved. I cannot state strongly enough to avoid this contractor at all costs!

About seven years or so we had Ayer come out and remove the old broken clay weeping tile in our…read morebasement and install a new system complete with sump system. They did a nice job no more water in the basement. Hated the little in ground sump discharge tank in the yard...always standing water. We ultimately had a local contractor reroute the sump discharge to the city storm sewer system $$$. It resolved the problem. Ayers at the same time also installed new basement windows (wrong type) but never finished the installation until months later after a lot of calling...in the interim we patched them as best we could, but our basement became a haven for spiders and other insects. The next year at our annual Ayers sump inspection, Zach (Zachart Stout) pointed out the failing of our 80-year-old north basement wall, of which we were already aware of. So, by 2026 after annual inspections by Zach, the wall situation had worsened to the point of needing repair (or take your chances). An Ayers crew came out and installed a series of GeoLock wall anchors to stabilize the wall. Their work was timely, very efficient and left no mess. We probably would have rated Ayers with a 5 if it hadn't been such a poor previous experience with the windows. Thanks, Zach, for your help and advice over the years.

My bedroom is directly over the crawlspace. Maybe that would explain why I felt like I got hit by a truck every morning I would wake up. He recommended Foundation Specialist to install a vapor barrier for me and I called them the same day. Cody from Foundation Specialist came out to he very next day and he gave me a quote. It was several thousand dollars less than what I anticipated. Unfortunately, they could not do the work until August 24. If you've ever encountered mold, once you know you have it, it's a very unsettling feeling. He told me he since it was causing me health issues, he would do his best to get to it on a rainy day since it would only take one day. I moved out of home temporarily and on July 25, Andrew came in and did the mold mitigation. On July 31, I got a call from Jason and he said a crew of guys was looking for some extra hours and could they come the next day and install the vapor barrier? I immediately said yes. This morning 4 young men arrived looking sleepy (as was I) but ready to work. They got right to it. My house is 90 years old and made of solid concrete. It was a space probably no taller than 3 feet. Nick, Drew, Tony and Dame were very efficient and worked well together. They took the time to show me the vapor barrier and dehumidifier and answer questions. I didn't like where the drain hose was so they quickly rerouted it for me. They were friendly and I really appreciated them for coming out in a Saturday. I can't thank them enough. It was not an easy job. Whatever they get paid, it's not enough. Thank you Foundation Specialist for helping an old lady out. You really took a lot of worry from me. Thank you Cody, Jason, Dame, Nick, Tony and Drew for making my job a priority. Will definitely recommend your company.

I paid them in full - but for the babysitting I had to do - I should have been compensated. My "project manager" (Brice) who was supposed to manage the job - was a "no-show". I never got a call from him when things went sideways. He never visited the site after selling me the job. In the end - I would use someone else for my next drainage project.
