You can't pass this place up while in New Haven. I always stop here after a show to end the night with a sweet treat This time we got the deluxe peanut butter cup, chocolate chip, and salted caramel cookie. We also tried the new fried ice cream stuffed cookie. No complaints when it comes to these cookies.

Insomnia Cookies is a chain founded in 2003 that sells warm, fresh, cookies; there are 17 types of cookies as well as brownies, ice cream, and other baked goods. It is headquartered in New York and Philadelphia; there are approximately 265 locations. They are usually located near Universities and opens later than other bakeries, hence the name, Insomnia. Students and customers who wants cookies and desserts, can get some very late, up to 3 am. We walked by and wanted to try it out. The shop was small and cute. There was a short line but it moved quickly. The customer service was good. We had a variety of cookies; I thoroughly enjoyed the snicker doodle; it's warm and soft in the middle. Overall, a nice spot to get your sweet tooth fix!

Great service for large cookie order! Insomnia is one of my go to comfort cookies and I was so happy to find a location in New Haven! They have great staff who was able to accommodate a large cookie order as you can see I couldn't resist a cookie before taking a picture. If you haven't had insomnia before it is in my opinion the perfect cookie size, thickness, and texture. Crunchy in the outside, soft in the middle, and not too thick or overly sweet. The location is in downtown newhaven so parking can be a challenge since it's mainly street parking.

Loove these cookies! Always warm and fresh out of the oven, with the option to pair with their ice cream. I recently went there to get a birthday cookie cake for my brother and it was perfect. It was a generous size and had the option to choose three different cookie types. We got the m&m, classic chocolate chip, and double chocolate chunk. It comes with a standard happy birthday image printed on top, but they have other messages you could get printed as well. Staff was super friendly too!

Cookies never disappoint & these insomnia ones hit the spot. We got the regular sized White Chocolate Macadamia & Chocolate Chunk (they'd run out of deluxe sizes) & they were both delicious. Warm, crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside & just the perfect amount of sweet. Great late night spot after a walk in Yale; however parking can be tough. We had to park away & since we were walking anyway, it wasn't too outta the way!

This place was a lifesaver after we had a not-so-great night in New Haven. After the club, we were just sitting and chilling when someone told us they were about to go get cookies. Inside had a line as most of the clubs just closed and everyone was out trying to get a late-night snack. The smell and ambiance were amazing. Felt like I was in cookie heaven. There was a wide variety of cookie options on the menu and they also had brownies, milkshakes, and a variety of ice cream flavors. I got a s'mores cookie and a chocolate chip. They were so warm, delicious, and just melted in your mouth. They also have the option of adding ice cream to your cookie. I didn't do that option as It would be too sweet but I know I missed out on that awesome combination. I ended up still having my ice cream, just in a cone lol If you are ever in the area feel free to check them out and they also do open until late.

I absolutely LOVE Insomnia Cookies. This is one of my go-to dessert locations in Downtown, New Haven. The shop is conveniently located next to all the popular restaurants and bars, making it the perfect spot for a late-nite snack or round-the-clock treat. The line is usually ridiculously long here, especially in the evenings and on the weekends. Be prepared to wait a bit for your cookie. This is not the place to go if you're in a rush. Despite the long lines, the staff is generally friendly and helpful. I've only had one negative experience where they made my order wrong and convinced me to take it as is because the store was so busy. I believe the cashier said, "this probably tastes just as good as what you wanted". Luckily the person was right but customer service could've been better. I understand they were busy though. Lastly, my favorite cookie flavor here is the deluxe peanut butter cup and I love that the cookie is always served perfectly warm and gooey. So good!!

Insomnia is one of my go-to cookie shops! I've never had a bad experience here. The cookies are always perfectly done - not raw in the middle, but the right amount of melty. We thought the ice cream was great and couldn't get over how big the cookie sandwich was! The staff always works quickly to get us our treats, and it's nice that there's a few seats, because the ice cream never would've lasted if we took it to go. Already can't wait for my next visit!

We found another Insomnia location right in front of the Shubert Theatre. How convenient is that!!! Was able to enjoy another delicious peanut butter chocolate chip cookie! YUM!!!!

We had our first visit to Insomnia Cookies tonight. There was a short line that moved pretty quickly. Service was fine. We got a classic 6 pack. I like that they come in small pizza box type deal. I tried the peanut butter chip, the white chocolate macadamia, and chocolate chip. All good and fresh, but a step down from my favorite versions of those cookies. Four Stars

Smells delicious in here! Ambiance is nice and perfect for the type of business it is. Located in the heart of downtown New Haven on College St. Perfect pick me up on a cloudy Saturday afternoon in New England. The oatmeal raisin cookie was to die for!

If you're looking for a late night dessert, Insomnia Cookies is the place to go! I always try to stop by any time I happen to be in New Haven, or after getting dinner at a nearby restaurant. On street parking is available in front of the store, but often there aren't any open spaces, so you'll have to park on a nearby street or parking garage. It's generally hit or miss with how busy it is. I've been plenty of times when the line is out the door, and other times when there's only a couple people inside. Considering it's such a popular spot, I wouldn't recommend stopping by if you're in a hurry. The menu consists of Classic Cookies, Deluxe Cookies (which are about $2 more each), brownies, ice cream, and "Wiches" (ice cream sandwiches made with cookies). I usually stick to the Classic Cookies, like the Chocolate Chunk, Double Chocolate Chunk, and White Chocolate Macadamia. While all are delicious, I like the good old-fashioned Chocolate Chunk the best. The cookies are stored in a warmer so they're always warm and gooey when you get them. They also have chocolate and regular milk available, as well as soda. As far as ambiance, there's not much to say... it's meant to be a takeout place, so there aren't any tables to sit inside, only one small counter area in the back of the store with a few stools. The staff are generally friendly. Despite trying many other cookies from different bakeries around the state, nothing really beats Insomnia Cookies!

A MUST when you're in New Haven! We went here after a concert and these cookies hit the spot. I love that they are open super late, until about 2:30am. I got the chocolate chunk and oatmeal raisin, they were still so good the next day. There may be a line but it's usually super fast. They also deliver within the area!

Went here after the Marley concert. The deluxe cookies are where it's at. The birthday cake/sprinkle is the best by far.

Just in time for your home delivery needs come the good folks at the Hartbeat Kitchen. On a weekly…read morebasis they will deliver fresh and fully prepped meals right to your doorstep in the metropolitan Hartford area and the city of New Haven. Check their website to see if your town makes the cut. Orders must be submitted by Saturday night to receive Monday delivery. These are healthy low-calorie and low carb meals. We ordered four entrees, and nothing exceeded 425 calories. In fact, two were in the 300's and one was below 300. Combine the convenience factor, the variety of options, the reasonable cost, and the health factor, you get a lot of pretty good reasons to order some meals from Hartbeat. So how does it work? Well their menu changes weekly, but entrees run $10 or $12 and these are some typical choices: Chicken Tenders, Cauliflower Mash, Braised Spinach Chicken, Bacon, Sweet Potato Hash Deconstructed Fish Tacos Pesto Chicken Pasta Pesto Shrimp Paleo Shepherd's Pie Shrimp and Broccoli Simple Salmon Simple Steak Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon Turkey Burger and Sweet Potato Wedges over Greens They also sell "components" for $3-$5 you can either add to a meal or use as a base for a meal you prepare - think side orders of Garlic Green Beans, Herbed Chicken Breast, Roasted Broccoli, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Salmon, and Smashed Potatoes. This week I saw a soup on the menu (Red Curry Glass Noodle Soup) for $6 that must be a new addition because I didn't see it last week. For our inaugural order, we selected four entrees - Chicken Tenders with Cauliflower Mash & Braised Spinach, a Chicken, Bacon and Sweet Potato Hash, Deconstructed Fish Tacos, and Sweet Chili Glazed Salmon. I had the tacos and the salmon, and I thought they were excellent. I was a little skeptical about reheating fish in the microwave, but the instructions were spot on (I went on the low side of the time range) and they came out great. The sides and sauces were all very good too. My entrees came with a variety of string beans, riced cauliflower, black beans, and cole slaw. The sweet chili glaze for the salmon fillet was outstanding! You'll have to buy a nice insulated red bag for $10 with your first order. It comes with 2 freezer packs and will become your delivery point for future orders. Well done Hartbeat !! Welcome to our rotation.

Hartbeat Kitchen is an absolute life/marriage saver for working individuals, couples, and…read morefamilies--particularly those that have weird dietary needs. Owner Nancy Boone's food ranges from gluten-free to dairy-free to fully paleo, and each week the menu rotates enough to both access your favorites and keep things interesting. She sources from local farmers, so if you're in CT she provides a much more sustainable service than out-of-state food meal delivery services. Nancy continuously collects feedback about the meals and you can actually see the meals change slightly in response to that feedback--it's always getting a little better! Nancy designed the service to help working families--twice now I haven't gotten my order in on time, and she's accommodated me to the best of her ability so that I could still get a delivery. While I DON'T recommend forgetting to place your order on time (that makes her life a little harder), I've been so appreciative of her flexibility during these crazy and stressful times.

This Service is THE BOMB! They ONLY pick up Take Out orders from any local restaurant (you pay,…read moreeither via their website or with the restaurant directly). Here is the VERY best part . . . it is ONLY $5! Yup. I called ALL 7 of the taxi's in Wallingford to pick up, only one could take my visa and they wanted $30 buck! Wow!! SO here I am, in Tennessee, still in my pajamas, it's 2pm & I wanted to send a Mother's Day Meal to my MOST favorite person (also my cousin) in the entire world, who is at Gaylord Hospital in w/ her son (patient). I made arrangements for pick-up at Popeyes (my next stellar review will be of Da'rell/Popeyes in Wallingford), Jessica called me back 'Toot-sweet'. She was extremely quick, efficient & friendly... and also was willing to do a few extra things like print out a card too! What a Darlin' ! USE these guys...what a clever idea! I only wished we had ONE restaurant where I live ('cause you know we don't) and then I'd be missing this fantastic service.

At their website they say that they will deliver from any of our favorite restaurants. "The best part of our delivery service is that you are not restricted to only a handful of restaurants to order from, you can choose the restaurant of your choice and get the order of your choice. There is no restriction on quantity or amount of order either, so your order can range from $5.00 to $1,000. As long as the restaurant and the destination are within Wallingford, it is in our reach." this is a lie they only have certain places that you can get food from tried to order food from Knuckleheads and they would pick it up bc it wasn't one of the places listed...no where did it say that I had to pick one of the restaurants from their list. I'm giving them 2 stars only bc they have and awesome concept, but are restricted to a handful of places that you can get a delivery from.

There is a long refrigerated case on one side filled with their meals and the other side has some shelves with snacks. There are also drinks available I tried the Low carb Sesame Chicken (sorry no pics) and the Low Carb Greek Chicken. Both were 10.99 + tax both came with the protein and a cold salad. The sesame came with edamame and a dipping sauce that tasted like a try at remoulade. The chicken while tender had absolutely no taste, the only seasoning seemed to be the sesame seeds, likewise the edamame were ok but I added some salt for flavor. I wouldn't get it again The second dish I tried was the Low carb Greek Chicken which came with a small salad of chickpeas, cucumber & tomato in a very thin vinagrette. The chicken was tender and had a bit more taste then the sesame but the 'tzatziki' sauce was just very watery yogurt The ingredients were fresh, but make sure you check the expiration dates, and there was a nice portion but they really need to revamp their seasonings The person who was working there was very polite and helpful

"There was a girl in Portland Before the winter chill…read moreWe used to go a-courtin' Along October hill" (Johnny Cash) We stopped in a few days ago and were very impressed by October Kitchen's variety, price, value, service, and most importantly, the quality of their foods, When you walk in you'll see a big menu board with today's listings, a freezer case and a refrigerated case loaded up with the foods. This made it pretty easy for us to review the menu and zero in on what we wanted, which was four items. Our server Anca was very pleasant and professional, and enhanced our entire consumer experience. We went with a small container of freshly made egg salad, a small container of grilled shrimp ($5), Meatballs with rice and vegetables ($13), and a frozen eggplant lasagna ($9). The egg salad was very good. Just egg and Light Hellman's Mayo and nothing else. It was a pretty much perfect batch, and a good convenient value at $5. The shelled "tail-on" grilled shrimp were five large nicely seasoned pieces that were delicious. We split the Asian Meatballs dish for dinner tonight. It was a big 19-ounce container with three Asian meatballs, rice, broccoli florets, and julienned carrots, squash, zucchini and scallions. A half portion was plentiful, the meatballs were excellent, and the sweet chili sauce added a zippy finishing touch. If the eggplant lasagna is half as good as the meatball dish, I'd be very happy. Some of the other intriguing listings we saw on their menu were Balsamic Shredded Beef, Turkey Cutlets with Fontina, Garlic Parmesan Flounder, Spanish Rice with Chicken & Shrimp, soups, salads, and desserts. Definitely worth your while to stop in and check out their grab and go goods.
