They offer student discounts for drinks which is also lovely. I got the moonrise latte (combo of dark chocolate and white chocolate mocha) and it was delicious! Very strong, not too sweet, and a great balance. If I was in the area again, I would drop by for a drink to go.

It was founded by husband and wife Jon and Ellen Rose with the help and assistance of their extended family. The Rose family is one of the oldest families in North Branford. Beginning in 1646, Robert and Marjorie Rose began working their land as a traditional New England farm with orchards and livestock. Today the farm is one of the oldest in the country that is continuously run by the same family. The farm now features a farm market building, a creamery that makes old-fashioned custard, Buck's Grill (offering breakfast and lunch), a bakery, and a maple syrup operation. For several years, members of the Rose family had an idea about opening a winery on the property. 12th generation family member Jon decided to make this idea a realty. Beginning in 2017, several members of the Rose family assisted in planting the vineyard while a winery building was built on the property by Al Rose Construction. Jon and Ellen run the new venture as co-owners and co-vintners. At Rose Vineyards, the staff focus on viticulture, enology and wine education using the best environments and sustainable practices while ensuring the highest quality. My family and I recently visited Rose Vineyards for the first time. This came just a couple of days after we visited Rose Orchards Farm to pick strawberries. We had heard several good things about the winery since it opened. The vineyards were beautiful and the new winery building was very impressive. In addition to the delicious wine, the building also has an on-site kitchen that prepares farm-to-table dishes. We saw several delicious charcuterie and mezze platters coming out of the kitchen during our visit. However, we were there for another culinary treat: PIZZA! In the warmer months, every Thursday night is "Pizza Night". We picked a table right outside on the patio next to the wood-burning oven. To drink, I ordered a glass of "Pinotage" while my wife ordered "Symphony". Both were excellent wines! For pizza, we all ordered and shared the "Pepperoni" (pepperoni, San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, EVOO), "Truffle Burrata" (burrata, spinach, parmigiana reggiano, truffle pesto, EVOO), "Lobster" (lobster, ricotta, fresh mozzarella, tarragon, roasted tomatoes, garlic, pernod reduction, sarvecchio cheese), and the "Nutella" (nutella, strawberries, powdered sugar, toasted hazelnuts) for dessert. Every single pie was excellent!! Before leaving, I had a glass of their "Cabernet Sauvignon" which was very flavorful! I was initially disappointed that all the apples were gone because the trees in the front were completely bare but once we got a bag and saw the map, I saw that the land was quite spacious with every variety of apple you could think of. The front rows had been picked clean but there were plenty to choose from in the back. They charged by the pound. For a few apples, we paid about $6. They had a ton of apple pies and some flavors I had never heard of before like apple caramel walnut. Had such a good time.

Glenwood Drive-In is a historic family restaurant that opened in Hamden, Connecticut in 1955. It…read morewas founded by Rocky Stone. The property was originally a small drive-in that operated under a different name. Stone purchased the drive-in after working as a Tip-Top salesman and deliveryman. He renamed it "Glenwood" and expanded the menu, hours and the physical building. After Stone passed away in 1960, his son Frank "Wayne" Stone took it over and he continues to run it today. In the early days, the Glenwood had a walk-up service window similar to establishments such as Dairy Queen. Over the years, Wayne remodeled the interior and added an indoor seating area. The menu consists of staples such as footlongs, chili dogs, cheeseburgers, clam strips, lobster rolls, soft shell crab, fries, onion rings, and much more! Although the establishment is no longer a traditional drive-in restaurant, the Glenwood still hosts classic car "Cruise Nights" every Wednesday during the warmer months. In 1985, Wayne's daughter opened "Kelly's Cone Connection": an adjoining ice cream parlor business that is connected to the Glenwood. Although both businesses share the same space, they operate as separate entities. Kelly makes all of her own ice cream, hot fudge, waffle cones, ice cream pies and birthday cakes in house. Customers can expect to choose from about 35 different flavors on any given day. My family and I recently stopped for dinner at Glenwood Drive-In. Growing up in the area, I visited the Glenwood several times throughout my childhood. I also frequently accompanied my father to "Cruise Nights" when he still owned a 1971 Triumph TR6. On this outing, we ordered a variety of menu items including a "Chili Cheese Dog", "Footlong", "Chicken Fingers w/ Fries", and "Fried Shrimp w/ Fries". There's something about those classic menu staples that just really hit the spot. Afterwards, we headed through the adjoining doorway to Kelly's Cone Connection for dessert. It was a special occasion because the ice cream parlor was hosting a meet & greet with Spider-Man himself. The event coincided with the release of a new monthly special called the "Spidey-Sundae" (Firework 250 Poprock ice cream w/ golden Oreos, a frosting and sprinkle rim w/ a cotton candy web, poprocks, & a Spider-Man ring). My sons both had a blast meeting Spider-Man and eating his special ice cream treat. I tried a different monthly special: the "New England Clam Chowder" (sweet cream salted caramel ice cream w/ white chocolate "clams", dried mint, vanilla wafers, white chocolate shell). The presentation was immaculate and the flavor combo was simply divine! If you're looking for classic American drive-in food along with some fantastic ice cream, then head to Glenwood Drive-In and Kelly's Cone Connection!

Hindinger Farm sells fresh vegetables, fruits, jams, and other items for children, and it has a beautiful backdrop. One side of the farm overlooks the other side of the farm and the other side of the farmi overlooks this beautiful backdrop of nature on the farm. Hindubger Farms puts on live shows, and you can go shopping. There is also a playground for the kids to play. The playground is fenced in with a picnic area so parents can enjoy their food without worrying about their children's safety. You can always check their website for events, shopping, and find out which food truck will be at the farm that day. The customer service was great, and I will definitely be back.

I also got a scoop of butter pecan ice cream, which I personally don't think pairs the best with peach ice cream, so I'd probably get a scoop in a separate cup next time. However, on its own, the butter pecan is super nutty and creamy. In addition to ice cream, they also sell milk, yogurt, and cheese. I decided to get a quart of whole milk and it was very rich. The only issue was that even when the cap was fully sealed, some milk still leaked out of the side. I love that all the milk is produced at a local farm. Late July is peach season, and the sweet aroma of peaches blends beautifully with the natural richness of milk. The first taste is the sweet and sour peach, with fruit pieces bursting like popping boba, followed by a rich and mellow fruity aroma that instantly transports you to an orchard. All of this is built on a rich and natural milk base. Butter Pecan: A spontaneous choice. Overall, it's slightly salty within the milky flavor, with pecan nuts as a topping, making it a rather full-bodied one. Fortunately, it's not too sweet, so it's not cloying, and the slight saltiness adds a nice touch. I thought it was just okay, but my parents loved it. Sweet Cream Chocolate Chip: Apparently their signature flavor. The sweet cream wasn't actually too sweet, but the cream was very rich and fragrant; the real sweetness came from the chocolate chips, which burst in your mouth with every chew, and even just a sample was slightly cloying. The staff were very friendly, proactively offering recommendations and samples. Taking a break with ice cream while strolling around campus and the art gallery is definitely a great experience.

Popcentric is somewhat hidden in plain sight in a small plaza on State St. Currently they have a table in the doorway where you order and an employee gets your pops for you. I was really impressed with the selection of flavors and we did not pick quickly. My husband got the raspberry mango and I had the grapefruit. Both were refreshing and very flavorful. Mine had just the right tartness I was hoping for. I believe all the pops are $3 which is pretty fair for a little, independent pop shop (also... Pop shop is fun to say). I would definitely recommend others come and check out this spot. There are so many flavors to pick from that I'm sure most people could find something up their alley.
