2 scoop "Good Stuff" sundae with hot fudge and almonds, 2 scoop Cherry Vanilla sundae with walnuts

Conveniently attached to Glenwood, this ice cream shop makes some pretty good stuff. Pardon the unintentional pun. Ambience was decent and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I got two 2-scoop sundaes. The first one I tried was Cherry Vanilla (with added walnuts). It was good, but the cherry flavor wasn't very prominent. It mostly tasted like vanilla ice cream with a small hint of cherry. The other sundae was "Good Stuff," which was chocolate peanut butter ice cream with chunks of Reese's peanut butter cups. This one was amazing. Rich, chocolatey with just the right amount of peanut butter flavor. I also added hot fudge and almonds to this one, which paired perfectly with it. Highly recommended. Overall, this is a great place, if you're eating at Glenwood, it pays to save room for desert.

I stopped in here with my friend last night and met the owner and she is just the nicest human being ever. The ice cream tastes fantastic, I tried the raspberry and it was incredible. Such a cute spot, I'll have to come back and try more of their specials.

This coffee float was so good. It was made with Oreo ice cream and we added chocolate fudge. Indulgent and creamy. The perfect consistency

I have been going to Kelley's for most of my life. It has always been a really great spot for ice cream. It's attached to Glenwood Drive in which is part of the father daughter business. Makes some really creative flavors and they were one of the first round to have a really good dairy free option. They usually have multiple on hand so there's a little bit of something for everyone. We really like Kelleigh. She's very warm and welcoming. The ambience is that of a small ice cream parlor. We ran over there the other day once we saw that we could get a ice cream bouquet! It did not disappoint. We featured it on our blog (@thesidedishers) we loved it so much!

Strawberry flavor burst soft serve - small Kids stated the flavor burst was "just vanilla"

I love that they advertise their specials on social media. They have a variety to choose from - hard scoops, soft serve with a flavorburst option, ice cream sandwiches, and plenty of fun toppings if you're going for a sundae. My kids had flavorbursts - strawberry, black cherry, and cotton candy. They said they tasted like plain vanilla, but still enjoyed them. (I have found this to be true times that I've tried this variety of soft serve elsewhere). I went with Cookie Monster and the Good Stuff. Both hard ice creams were disappointing. Not much flavor and the mix-ins were sparse. The Good Stuff is supposed to have pb and Reese cups, but I felt it was more of just the pb cup edges that were in the ice cream. Oh well, it was a good deal and we enjoyed the sweet treat and the friendly staff. Be sure to check out Yelp for a deal. I saw $4 waffle cone, which is a great price, you get two scoops of your choice. FYI - October is $2.75 soft serve month.

Starting off I got to say I love Kellys in general from the ambiance, food and lastly the service. The workers are hard working and will give you recommendations on there best ice creams. I give the most appreciation to the workers Julian and Riley. Check them out it's perfect for an afternoon with family and friends!

Another wonderful bit of my childhood that I get to share with my kids. I came here with my family, loved seeing Kelly then and I saw her today. The ice cream is delicious, it just feels wholesome and I'm so glad it still exists.

Kellys' has become our go to ice cream shop. They have so many delicious options: homemade ice cream, frozen yogurt, pies/cakes, pup cups, milkshakes, ice cream cookie sandwiches etc. We always get a treat to eat immediately plus a take home treat or two like a to go pint or pack of 6 homemade chocolate chip cookie sandwiches (check the freezer case for these!). The "flavorburst" is also a unique and photogenic way to enjoy the soft serve. Also helpful that they are open 12-9pm 7 days a week and staff are friendly and efficient. Each month offers a special such as $4.50 soft serve cups of waffle cones so be sure to check social media.

2/23/22 Double scoop of toasted almond ice cream w/rainbow sprinkles. The ice cream is excellent quality.

2/23/22 Kelly's Kone offers the seemingly odd combination of soups and/or ice cream in the same building that houses the Glenwood Drive-In. Weird, but it works for some reason. I usually place my dinner order on the Glenwood side, then while waiting for it to be prepared, I'll saunter on over to Kelly's Kone to get a cup of whatever soups they're offering that day. Today, while having lunch with my sister, we decided to save room for an ice cream from Kelly's Kone. So right after finishing lunch at the Glenwood, we walked the 10-15 paces through the open mutual wall the two businesses share, to sample the ice cream for the first time. A good decision! We both selected a cup with two scoops of toasted almond. I d have ordered mine one scoop each of that & chocolate chip ice cream, but they don't offer it. What's THAT about??? Anyway, sis and I agreed that the ice cream was really excellent quality and creamy, not too hard or soft, and a nice amount of toasted almond flavor. One star fell off the truck when the server said they don't have chocolate chip ice cream......my favorite flavor. Other than that, I'll not hesitate to try another flavor another time!

Delicious homemade ice cream,... we enjoyed the mud pie, loaded with chocolate sauce, yum!! ... and for the month of July, they have a homemade waffle cone special for $4 !

Ice cream was pretty good, a decent amount to choose from. The waffle cone was good, but a little too chewy for my liking. The whipped cream was fantastic. I was be ely excited to see the flavor burst soft serve, I used to get that as a kid and haven't seen it since! The shop was clean, service was a little strange. The server wasn't very friendly and when I tried to use a Yelp Deal, a worker came out of the back (possibly the owner or manager?) she was like I absolutely do not do business with Yelp... she still gave us the deal, but it made me feel uncomfortable and like I was being scolded. Overall, an okay experience.

Waffle cone chocolate dipped with sprinkles. Ice cream flavor was called The Good Stuff.

Shhh, don't tell anyone!…read more But also tell everyone you know! Let it Be is a chic, cozy little hole in the wall spot on Dixwell which although you can easily miss, you won't want to because it's a legend of a Thai restaurant. AMBIANCE - 8/10 When you walk inside, you're greeted by a familiar friendly smile (? one of the owners) before being seated amongst brightly colorful interior decor. They play relaxing Thai classics and sometimes switch it up with familiar and vibey pop songs. It's a small space, but is never overcrowded, and there's conveniently plenty of parking in the back. FOOD - 9/10 The food here is incredible. I've tried multiple Thai places in and around the New Haven/Hamden area and Let it Be has got them all beat. Not only are the flavors authentic and high quality, but prices are fair and the dishes are well-portioned. Best of all, they're made with so much heart. Every bite has felt like a journey back home to South East Asia. SERVICE - 9/10 The service here has been phenomenal. Our friendly server is welcoming, prompt, and responsive to our needs. When a dish we asked for wasn't available, he took the time to find similar dishes for us. He also takes the time to make friendly conversation and share with us the history of some of the special dishes. Visits here always just feel like a pitstop at a friendly neighbor's. The only thing is that it can take a bit of time for the food to come out, which is natural as the dishes are likely made to order. OVERALL - 9/10 From the Thai staples (pad thai, red and green curries) to the more avant garde (larb kai but in a bánh mì / hoagie style sandwich?! woah!), this place does it all the right way. If you couldn't tell by now, this is my absolute favorite Thai place and I could not recommend it enough. Ally's Recs: Pad Thai (8/10) - cannot go wrong with a classic Pad See Ewe (9/10) - another classic! tastes great with a squeeze of lime Let it Be Thai Curry (9/10) - delicious house curry; they combo the curries well to create a creamy sweet and savory mixture that always leaves you wanting more Thai Tea (8/10) - if you're down for a treat, the condensed milk hits every time! Longan Juice / Tea (7/10) - refreshing and comes with a bunch of juicy longans on top. such a unique offering!

They offered my wife a syrupy lychee drink on the house to take care of the extra heat that she wasn't expecting. They put a bit of a different spin on their version of some popular dishes so don't be mad if it's not what you get at other Thai restaurants. Check out our pics. It was all excellent!

At the time, I found the ramen competent and the interior pristine, spacious, and modern. Returning for a second visit, I'm happy to report they have withstood the test of time, maintaining high standards for both food quality and cleanliness. To provide context: when Roishi first opened, it felt like ramen shops were everywhere. Fast-forward a few years, fewer shops remain, and unfortunately, many of those survivors just don't stand out to me. The mid-range sushi scene has proven equally unimpressive. Aside from high-end establishments like Hachiroku Handroll Bar, or the outstanding Gohan in Southington, most mid-range joints disappoint with mediocre quality and a lack of creativity. Many may start off strong in quality, like Niu Sushi in East Haven or Sayori in Orange, but eventually their standards slip over time. In the current food scene in Connecticut, finding a restaurant that excels at both ramen and sushi is a rarity. While I enjoy the Spicy Miso at Akatsuki in Hamden, their sushi remains lackluster. Conversely, from what I recall when they initially opened, the sushi at Takumi in Branford impressed me, but their ramen has disappointed. This is where Roishi shines. Perhaps my previous disappointments at other establishments have made me quick to judge, or maybe I simply caught Roishi on an exceptionally good day. Regardless, our last experience at Roishi has won me over, and it has officially become (for now) my go-to for a satisfying bowl of ramen paired with fresh, creative sushi rolls. It is clear the sushi chefs put effort into curating their menu and making their rolls look visually appealing. Our server was pleasant, professional and attentive without being overbearing. While the menu would benefit from rotating specials featuring higher grade ingredients, the restaurant's ability to maintain standards and consistency is a rarity, and is the primary reason I will continue to return as long as they continue to do so!

We tried to get in yesterday but it was super crowded and we didn't want to wait amongst a lot of people (too much sickness going around). However, I wish we had gone, because our breakfast wasn't anywhere as good as today. I started with a Carmel latte which was really good. I had the croissant French toast which was utterly amazing! I have to say that I am NOT a breakfast person. I'm not a fan of eggs, but I will eat them and I hate to start the day with a sugar bomb! However, the croissant French toast was a true delight. It came topped with fresh, not frozen sugary stuff, beautiful juicy strawberries, a nice light whipped cream, and a not so sugary chocolate sauce on the side. It did have a lot of whipped cream so I loved that to the side. It was served with syrup but I didn't use any. The flavor of the croissant with the strawberries was enough for me. I barely dipped it in the chocolate. It was delectable! I've also had their Irish Benny on another trip which was amazing and the pumpkin pancakes. There is NO other breakfast place where I cannot make a decision because there are so many delicious items to choose from. And, I know that anything I choose is going to be utterly amazing. Their portions are big and their prices are very fair for what your get. I felt like I had a whole pint of strawberries on my croissant. My husband had the meat lovers omelet with oatmeal. He said everything was perfect. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. This is a typical breakfast place. It's not fancy but friendly and clean. And everyone seems happy! The kind of place I like. You have to get here early or you'll have a wait. I say the wait is well worth it. We went at 8:30 on a holiday and were able to be seated immediately. That's the first time that's happened though. I want to try their lunch, but their breakfast is so amazing, I would probably order breakfast for lunch which is something I NEVER do! If we had this place near us (we're from Philly), it would be the death of me! I'd be going all the time.
