Must sound very weird, but it was the first time in my 21 years on Earth to enter a cookie store past 10pm-ish, and it left such a good impression. They carefully asked if I wanted a paper plate or a double-open bag for takeout. Recalling all my cookie-tasting memories, I think this is the best cookie I have ever had. They handed the cookie to me lukewarm. First bite was exactly like described in the title, very ooey-gooey. You could feel that batter hot out of the oven melting in your mouth. The texture was soft, wet, a little crispy, and sticky; nothing could compare to it!! When I first held it, it broke into medium-sized parts that fit my chewing capacity. Yummy, but one is enough for the night because it's cloyingly sweet at some point. I ended up having a macadamia cookie with cookies and cream cream sandwich. Obviously have to eat this quickly because the warm cookies will quickly melt your ice cream. Yum yum yum is all I can say... The locations right near UMass and Amherst College in the thanks square. This store is perfect for students who need to pull a all-nighter with projects and exams. When I was in college, I was jealous of any school that had an Insomnia Cookies nearby. It was a great place to go after a party to get some drunk sweets. It was great. But when you peel back the filter of adolescence, you realize that the cookies are good, but only slightly better than the cookies you'd get at BJ's Wholesale or CostCo. I think it's intentional but the chocolate peanut butter cookie was almost like cookie dough in the middle. My partner thought it was okay so he ate it but that's not what I was looking for. I also bought a salted caramel and that was warm and done nicely so I'm not sure what happened with the first cookie. Prices are a bit steep for the quality and service. Cons: - Prices are on the higher end with a single larger cookie being $3.50. The deals only apply to the regular sized cookies but those deals are pretty good for their prices (for the most part). - Service in-store feels quite rushed even though there wasn't a line or anything. My first time there was pretty decent but during my most recent visit I mentioned that I wanted to scan for my loyalty points but the cashier went right ahead and finished the order without asking to scan it or anything. When I inquired about the points I was told "sorry, it's too late" even though I just stated a minute ago that I intended to get them... The staff was very friendly and made sure my friends and I got fresh cookies. I got the chocolate chunk and my boyfriend got the white chocolate macadamia. I usually don't like white chocolate but his cookie was GOOD. We also bought strawberry cheesecake icecream but it was nothing special. It tasted like regular icecream from the grocery store. Insomnia cookies is part of a chain, and not a unique local business, targeting rich college students. The prices are absolutely insane for about a three inch cookie. We stopped in and picked out a "Six Pack" for like $10. All their cookie ordering quantities are lamely named such as, The Six Pack, The Major Rager, and The Sugar Rush. All the cookies I've read online are pre-made and previously frozen, and are made by David's cookies. If I knew ahead of time what I was getting I never would of stopped in.
