He was direct that the sales team that goes door to door is a subcontractor but Insight Pest is located in Cheshire and the technicians are local. Had Edward show up for initial visit. Very knowledgeable about getting rid of all pests, not just insects but moles, groundhogs and even snakes. You name it! This guy was thorough. He spent a good amount of time doing the inside of the house and then outside, the perimeter of the house and the perimeter of the yard. I really trust this man and this company. I have similar complaints as a lot of the others on this forum. I think the positive feedbacks are coming from people associated with the company or employees. The business in my opinion is a scam. I had a young man stop by the house going door to door trying to sell their insect treatment. I did not sign anything but told the young man I was seeing black ants coming into the house and he could spray. I also took him around the house and explained where I thought the ants might be coming in and to make sure he sprayed those areas. I went inside and came back out ten minutes later and he was gone. No sign of spray in any of the areas I designated. The spray could not have evaporated in such a short time and I had no reduction in the black ants until I purchased some bait granules from Home Depot and spread them around the house perimeter. Approximately,two months later a different technician came to the house and was going to spray a second treatment, I explained to her I was not happy with the initial treatment and did not want the service and explained the reasons why. She told me I would have to call their office and cancel my contract. Since I did not sign anything I didn't think I had a contract or if I did that it was a big deal to cancel but every since I have been billed for cancelling the service. I have asked them to provide me a signed copy of the agreement and to date they have not. I will be reporting them to our BBB and the Ohio attorney generals office for harassment and poor service and management practices. read more

I had a door to door kid come by my house at 7:30 at night. I had a sick child trying to go to sleep and had just got my 7 month old down to sleep as well. I typically don't expect unsolicited visitors at that time of night. I informed Devon, the sales kid, that he woke my baby and asked him to leave. As he did he called me an asshole. I couldn't believe my ears. I mentioned this to my neighbors and warned them about the door bell ringing idiot. Several of my neighbors informed me that the same kid was at their house the night before at around the same time, on Memorial Day!! Who goes door to door at 7:30 at night on Memorial Day? I think the more accurate statement is this kid Devon is the asshole, and I plan on calling this business today to report my neighborhoods issue. I was also told that this kid was name dropping other neighbors as ones who have signed up and we've confirmed they haven't Shady sales technique for sure. read more

Do not do business with this company. A wider search of the net will show others had the same issues I did. Door to door sales, OK, nothing wrong with that. Sales rep told us he had signed up several neighbors (by name) and therefore could offer a discount rate since they would be in the area. Makes sense. We signed up for one year of "comprehensive treatment and control of the house." In particular we were concerned about carpenter bees that have been an issue for some time. The first visit my wife was here for. She pointed out the carpenter bee issue and the service person did not seem to be concerned nor particularly aggressive in his technique. Was more interested in dusting the house. The next visit lasted about 5 minutes as the service man ran around the house dusting the house. "No need to do more" The next time the service tech showed up in the rain. We told him to come back later. Never did, but we were billed for it. The final visit the man showed up about 9:30 at night, Told him to come back in the day when he could see what he was doing never did. Again, we were billed for the call Refused to pay for the last 2 visits since nothing was done. Correspondence sent to local office and corporate explaining situation with no response. But the dunning letters just kept on coming. Explanation to collections had no impact, just a referral to the contract we had signed to make 4 payments. The fact that they did not perform the service was not a concern to them. In a conversation this spring I asked my neighbor (one of the ones who according to the sales rep had "signed up" how they felt about them? He new nothing of them, never heard of them and had used a competitor for years. OK, So I just paid the bill. They have worn me down and I have other things to do then to continue to argue with a company that does not care about the service they DO NOT provide. Stay away from this company, unless you like sending money off for work that is not done. They are a real rip off. read more

Have used this company for a year. I can not saying enough about the technician that usually comes. Great guy and super knowledgeable. The office is the worst. I set up for auto payment obtained a new card and they can't seem to update payment as requested. Most recently I paid them on July 9 and I confirmed what my next service was scheduled for which was July 24. Nobody ever showed up. I called them AGAIN and left a voicemail and sure enough nobody called me back. I contacted them again yesterday and I was told by Jasmine that they never rescheduled my July 24th because i had a balance which was paid on July 9. Does that make sense? Hmmmm. I paid a bill that was owed and if they would just update my method of payment so they can stop calling me that would be GREAT. How many times do I need to ask... And how about that service call? Horrible communication from office. I asked to speak to the franchise owner and Jasmine said he'd never call you. Most of my neighbors have your service. I am a business owner. I refer companies all the time. Looks like I will be searching for a new pest control company and not referring insight again. I will be sure to let my neighbors know as well. We use insight for our home and really enjoy the service. The company is located in Cheshire, which is awesome because we can support a local branch and get local employees. They are always dressed in uniform with proper safety gear. They use IPads for easy check out. Their services are covered by warranty, which adds a sense of security that your pest control will be taken seriously. read more

I had my initial inspection completed today with Arturo G. and Gerlin S. They were on time, explained the process to me, provided me some tips of preventing future infestations, and were finished in under an hour. 9/21/17 update. Had them come out yesterday for the third time. Ya. 3 to kill some ants. Had appointment for 4-6. Tech shows up at 2 with no one home and "sprays". I call today to find out what he did. Says he treated the back yard for ants. How can he if he doesn't know my property line? Why not the front also? My email receipt says he used 1 pound of stuff and a hand spreader. I have around an acre lot. That isn't enough and deff not the right delivery system id use either. Takes an hour to mow my lawn on a riding mower. Cancelled services. Everything was a terrible experience. Would not recommend to anyone. Updated 9/25/17 Called and canceled services on 9/21/17 for good. Was told by pat I would get a confirmation email. This way I shouldn't get anymore services and no charges on my account. Had to call today because no email has been sent. This company can't do anything right. I'm laughing because of how terrible everything was. read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. We were stupid enough to purchase this service this summer from a guy wandering our street... he was "giving us a good deal." We had major spider and carpenter ant issues so we thought we'd try it. They came for the first spraying and it did absolutely nothing. We called to inform them of that and they came back to spray again with their "strongest formula." We saw no change whatsoever. Also - they say that their formula is organic and safe for animals but each time they came our dog Olive got incredibly sick. Today we got an email saying they were coming back on the 24th for the next spraying and so I called them to cancel. I spoke with Tanya who said she was going to HAVE to charge me for cancelling and that I'd have to repay the signing discount I received. Now, I would understand paying the cancellation fee for a product and service that actually worked but they have a detailed record of me calling in the past because it did not work. She said she's sorry, but there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak with someone there who would be able to do something and I was told she was the manager. After pressing a bit more, I was told that "Brian" would be calling me back. I asked for his number in case he didn't call and she said she cannot give me the number, I'd have to wait. I'm currently waiting and will happily share the rest of that experience here. In the meantime, I wanted to issue this review in the chance it helps someone else.... I had 1 service done by this company. The very next day i saw I had dead fish in my pond. I called and a manager named Brian Brown called me back. I explained that my fish were dieing and that i had never lost fish in the 20 yrs I have had a pond. He seemed very concerned and as I was going on vacation it was decided that when i got back I would call him with a final talley of dead fish. A week later i called his office and left a detailed message that I had lost 17 of my 28 fish. I had also taken pictures of the fish to keep a record. This was on June the 18th that i had called him back. A few days later i began to see ants and then 4 ticks were pulled off my dog. I have never pulled 4 ticks off him in the entire time i have had him let alone in a matter of hours. This company was supposed to treat for all that. Anyway i called back and set up for a retreat. Now mind you I still havent been called back by Brian about my dead fish. On Monday the 25th of June a service member showed up to do a retreat. I advised him that I no longer wanted their service and wanted out of the contract. He was nice enough and saw the puctures of the dead fish. He made contact with someone at the office who said they would be in contact about the issues. Now the funny part.. i got a voice mail stating that they were going to let me out of my contract WITHOUT a penalty. At no time was any mention made of my dead fish or for them to even take action or responsability for what happened. This company and management are the worse i have ever delt with. Do not use them. Do NOT sign anything with this company when they illegally solicit at your door!!!!! Sign NOTHING! It may look like a receipt, and upon further reading will show that it is a year -long contract with expensive cancellation fees. They will rope you into a nominal fee for your initial service, such as $59 or $79. They will VERBALLY tell you, right then and there, that you can cancel anytime with no penalties. That's a despicable lie. And who has the time to read the small fine print while they're pressuring you in your front hall and have already wasted 20-30 minutes with their false promises? It sounds great, and remember, they tell you you can cancel ANY time with no penalties. Not true. Please look at the the many, many reviews saying exactly what I'm saying. They make it sound great by saying that they'll come out again and again after a service if you're not satisfied or still seeing insects. Yes. That is true. They will come out ONCE after a service call, to spray for bugs they should've killed on their original service call. If it didn't kill the first time, it won't on the second visit. And you'll be billed for any subsequent follow-ups after one. On top of everything, that's just plain inconvenient if you like to be home to watch strangers on your property, or have to let them into your garage or basement. And what's worse, if you don't have a property camera or monitoring system to prove that they actually showed up to treat your home and yard, you might be out of luck. I have Ring. Thank goodness. I got an email for an invoice stating that a technician had serviced my home, (property), earlier that day. It was very specific, amts used, time, application area, tech's name, my address, etc..... I asked my son how the dog's did while he was in yard. He told me no one came to treat house. I checked invoice again and then checked RING. No technician was ever at my property on that documented day. When I emailed, called, emailed and called them, (constant run-around, blame game, horrible customer service), I finally got a manager who made up some story about how they sometimes send out invoices before the work is done, blah, blah, blah..... That's baloney because it was time stamped, had details of a treatment, signature, amts. etc......I am currently working with a legal representative to help me, and hopefully others, from being further scammed, billed, cheated and lied to repeatedly. Please do your research and DO NOT USE INSIGHT PEST SOLUTIONS in ANY region. It seems that they conduct their business this poorly in various states, not just PA and NJ! read more

Not a very good experience with Insight. House spiders were not controlled, never seen a difference. They claim to have mice control, I caught as many this past winter as prior with $1 trap. Still noticed usually bugs in the home, but the only thing I noticed a difference was with ants they did control them. The man who did the application was very nice and explained everything, I just feel it didn't work. A mouse trap and a bottle of Ortho Home Defender is a better choice for me. read more

If I could give no stars I would. This company is a scam and any company that needs to lock you into a contract isn't worth dealing with. My husband got swindled with the door to door salesmanship about this "great product " and was locked into a 3 month contract. The service tech came out for a total of 20minutes and did NOT perform the services my husband was sold on. I called to cancel and there was a cancellation fee of 100 which I was willing to pay until I was informed almost a additional 200 was being added since we no longer get to have the"discounted" price for the initial treatment. We would of been better off doing the additional two treatments but both my dogs had awful itching and redness for the first time and this product was the only thing new they were exposed too. I've tried multiple times to speak with a manager and get tossed around, filed a complaint with BB and now waiting for it to go to collections to contest it. Don't waste your time. read more

Signed up with this company as a result of a door to door sales calls (I guess that technique still works!) Seamless signup process and had service completed the very next day. We had been having issues with ants so the visit was timely. Michael Cruz was our tech to do the initial treatment and he was great! Explained every step of the process, had us sign paperwork, and let us know what was going on and when they would be finished. Initial treatment took less than 30 minutes. This company is a total scam, save yourself the aggravation. They stole money from me on the first visit when I inadvertently let them in my house, my fault for trusting them. Now they only come and treat the outside for the remainder of my contract. The service person spends 10 mins spraying your foundation with bug spray and happily leaves you a $120 bill in the mail. UPDATE from my original post stating they were a good company after the first visit. I did the review too early on and ONLY did it because the tech said he'd get a $10 bonus for a good review. REVISED POST: Terrible service and customer service. Don't bother wasting $126 each quarter for the one year contract when you can go to Home Depot and get spider/bug spray for $10 and do a better job yourself. They don't attempt to schedule your quarterly visit with you. They show up in the middle of the day (most people are at work) leave a tag on your door and state they sprayed the perimeter of the home. They bank on people not calling back and getting a technician to return to do the inside of the home. On one occasion, a tech, Darwin, told us that their product doesn't even prevent the spiders/bugs from coming inside...funny that your own employees aren't talking highly of your product. The last time we got him here on a Saturday to do the interior, he did one room upstairs and went to leave. I already discussed with him other problem areas and he wasn't even going to bother spraying where I mentioned. What a rip off. The kicker....the contract states you need to cancel in writing 30 days before your next quarterly visit. I sent an email on August 5th and TWO follow up emails with no response asking them to charge my card on file the final balance and to close my account. They haven't done either. This company is a scam. I signed contact with them for one year. Every time they claimed to service my house, I didn't see any different from what it was. They didn't leave a notice that what they supposed to do. I've tried to cancel the contract with them, and they told me I have to fulfil my contract, or they will charge me for it anyway. I continued to go on for 1 years. After that they came to service my house without my knowledge, and sent me another bills. I called and refused to pay. They continued to send me email to schedule appointment for service. I've warned them, and refused to give them permission to step on my property and they still come to service my house. Door to door sales guy came by and I actually did want to be sure not to have any ants or ticks. They came in the winter with 2 feet of snow on the ground to spray "outside". I sent them away and said never come back. I got a bill for $175 and they said they came when I wasn't here after leaving a voice message to "confirm" the appointment. Avoid these scammers at all cost... still have ants of course. $5 ant trap fixed that. read more

The three short days I have been dealing with this company I must say that they could be the worst company I've ever dealt with in my entire life. I had an appointment scheduled for Monday night at 6 p.m. and nobody showed up. I called them and after being on hold for over 20 minutes finally got to speak to a person. They could not find me in their system and told me that it usually takes a few days for that to happen so they could not provide me with any information. I told them that I would like to reschedule for Wednesday night at 6 p.m. The next day when I get home from work there was somebody at my house doing the exterior portion of the pest control. Since I was not expecting them I did not have time for them to do the interior of the house. I told them that they could just keep the 6 p.m. appointment for Wednesday night to come back and do the interior. A few minutes after the person left I got an invoice in my email saying that my service had been completed even though it was only half done. I called them back to ask why I got an invoice when the work was not completed. Once again they could not find me in their system in the person I spoke to promise that that information would be updated the next day and she would call me back on Wednesday. Wednesday comes and I get no phone call and as expected nobody showed up on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. I called them back once again to ask why nobody showed up and got the same person on the phone who apologized over and over that she did not call me back but had no idea why nobody showed up for my 6 appointment on Wednesday. So I requested that the manager call me tomorrow and rescheduled my appointment for next Monday night. I'm neither expecting a call from the manager or for the person to actually show up so we will see what happens. This company is absolutely horrible as far as their customer service goes. read more

The company lied to us about everything We dropped our original pest control company for Insight only to find that they never actually provided us with the treatment that they told us they were going to. We never received paperwork like promised. We were told by a technician that the customer service reps lied to us. It's not good when your own employees are telling you bad things about the company. In the end we got an entire 100% refund for the services but not without a struggle. I will make sure I tell my old company how amazing they are when I call the restart my service. Also roped in by door to door sales, also told the same story about neighbors having hired them and offering group discount; not sure that's true given that others have reported a similar story. We were told that they would eliminate what the salesman "confirmed" was a mole. Technician later came out and said that the pest that was digging our lawn was NOT a mole, and therefore couldn't really help us. I should have known that salesman would say anything to get a sale. We had to call back for re-treatment because a month later all sorts of insects were back inside the house and close to the perimeter of the home on the exterior. Had to call several times to request retreatment, with no call back. Finally got an appointment scheduled, and they told me I had to be home so they could spray inside. I took the day off of work and technician never showed up in the time frame. Had to call 5 separate times, until someone showed up at the house over 3 hours late. Recently have left messages requesting re-treatment since the last scheduled visit, and no one will return my calls. Not very impressed with the customer service or the product. read more
