The owner came by later that day, gave me a bid, and we agreed on a time when one of his crew would do the work. The painter turned up as promised, and the work -- including chimney caulking that my other painter had neglected to complete! -- was done on time, and beautifully. I was concerned about being able to get someone for such a small job but that wasn't a problem for them at all. We actually decided to ask them to patch and repaint a wall where the paint had cracked due to roof leakage (since repaired) and they gave us a really reasonable bid for all of that. They came and did it today and it took about 5 hours and everything looks just great! They did an excellent job taping everything off, cleaned up perfectly afterwards, both inside and out and John, Hernado and everyone else were friendly and professional. We'll definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

The leak ended up being related to bathtub plumbing instead of an actual pipe leak (got lucky). It took some detective work but he ultimately was able pinpoint it based on a bit of trial and error. He also helped cut out a previously walled up window in my garage. Like previous reviews, he does do a good job explaining what he's doing and even giving tips in the event I encounter something similar. He charges by the hour but doesn't waste time. Towards the end I consulted him on a potential for further garage remodeling and he's pretty honest about cost/scope of work/time needed on some ideas I had. He's not afraid to refer others in his network who can charge less or do a better job then he can (that's rare). Overall, he gives me honest feedback, doesn't over promise delivery of work, comes on time, works smart and quickly, and is pretty laid back.

DC Northwest Painting, LLC just finished painting the exterior of my house and back garage/studio…read more I cannot recommend them highly enough. Derek and Chris cleaned and prepped everything thoroughly, then selected the correct paint for the job. They worked tirelessly making sure the job was done to the highest of standards. They were wonderful with suggestions when asked about colors, knew exactly how to apply the paint to our many different surfaces, and, when done, went back to touch up and clean up. I came home from work and found my house exactly as it was prior to them showing up with the exception of a better looking exterior! Very polite, fun to talk with, respectful and, to top it off, very reasonably priced. If you have any painting that needs to be done, interior or exterior, you need to get a quote from these guys and HIRE them! I will have them back to do some interior painting -

I hired John Peck for exterior repairs and painting for my house. His quote was one of the lowest…read moreand most competitive at the time. However, during the paint job, it ended up costing us more than some of the other quotes that we received. I would have been still fine with this, only if the finished job was up to the standards that was promised to us. Unfortunately it was not. During the inspection, John agreed that part of the exterior trim near a tree needed to be fixed properly (he even mentioned bringing a ladder to reach it). That repair was never completed, and the very first rain after the job caused new water damage inside my home -- the exact problem we were trying to prevent. I trusted that the repair followed by the paint job was done properly, but as you can see from the pictures this was not the case. When I raised the issue, John insisted the work was done as scoped, rather than acknowledging that the problem area had been overlooked. His email response was more focused on defending the paperwork than on taking responsibility or offering a meaningful fix. I paid in full (in fact, more than the initial quote, effectively higher than what I would have paid if I had hired some of the other contractors) but ended up getting a lower quality job. Despite trusting that the work had been done properly. It's disappointing to discover that wasn't the case and now I have to go through the additional hassle of not only fixing the exterior but also the new damages caused to the interior. Based on this experience, I would not hire John again or recommend Pecks Property Pro LLC for repair or painting work. Attention to detail and accountability were clearly lacking.
