Our upstairs A/C unit stopped producing cold air yesterday and we awoke to find our AC running but temperature rising. Called Chad and he said they were booked solid but he would get to us sooner or later. At 9:40 pm we called him and he said they were 20 minutes out. The guys had been working since 8:am that morning but at 10pm they showed up. Turns out a cockroach had short circuited our capacitor which they had to replace. Legendary customer service indeed. I had a problem with my Bryant furnace. Being a DIYer, I did a ton of diagnostics ahead of time and sent an email to them explaining the problem, the error code, and the things I did. I've only had to call them twice, and it was for basically wear over time issues. That were resolved at the service call. So bad I had to file a lawsuit... Chad and Innovative Mechanical installed two 5 ton new HVAC units at a cost of $43,000 in April 2024. After 1.5 years and about 20 attempts to get the units working properly, Chad has been unable to get the units functioning properly and they keep shutting down. A lawsuit has been filed against Chad and Innovative Mechanical because he is unwilling to refund the amount paid. I have not had properly functioning air conditioning during two Atlanta summers. The heat is also not working properly, and I have three kids in my house. A few things you should know: 1. His warranty is worthless. When the contract was signed, he gave me a two-year parts and labor warranty. After a year and a half, he refused to honor the warranty and stated that he won't return money because the manufacturer will not allow him to return used equipment. He also stated that he can't absorb the cost. 2. Another company cannot work on the HVAC units. It voids any warranty or any recourse you might have. I haven't had properly working cooling and heating for a year and a half and there is nothing I can do about it. 3. He, or his company, does not do the actual installation. The installation was contracted out to a third party. 4. The solutions to resolve the issue don't make sense. Chad told me the solution to get the issue resolved was to put a 10-inch duct into the garage (I clearly don't need AC in the garage). He was not competent enough to do any testing on the systems to determine what the problem is. Each time he came over there was a new garbage reason why it wasn't working and what minimal thing could be done to resolve the issue. There is no reason why the units shouldn't work after 20 attempts to resolve the issue. 5. After the units weren't functional, the service was terrible. There were multiple times that he just didn't show up, cancelled or rescheduled for a date far in advance. He would state that his truck was broken, or he had health issues. read more

2 Year old Bryant furnace went out. These guys were very responsive. Called mid day on Monday, they fit me in and came out Tuesday as last stop, ordered part and fixed on Wednesday. The warranty specifics are a little shaky so confirm all that with it written before getting new system. I have 2 systems with them and this is the first mechanical trouble so record's not too bad. read more

Top to bottom great service and professionalism. TLDR: Don't hesitate to contact them. You will be happy with the service! I am a landlord and have a rental unit. The AC has been going in and out of my tenants property. We called another AC contractor in the area and they came out to replace one by one a number of different parts. None of it worked. The AC would still work for a few days and then go out. Eventually, they wanted to replace the whole thing which I wish I would have known from the get go. They quoted me over $18,000 which quickly went down to $14,000 after I refused to even talk to them at their initial offer. I had to get another quote, and called Innovative. Chad was slammed and couldn't come out for 5 days. I was able to speak with him and he squeezed me in the next day. He was honest in the assessment and said he could probably fix the bits and pieces but most likely the system would die in a few months to a year. Well as a landlord, I really don't have the time to deal with non stop repairs. So I bit the bullet and ordered services with Innovative. There quote came in much lower and I felt more comfortable with Chad as he wasn't pushy or salesy. Again we got squeezed in the next week. Initially had an appointment 10 days out. Craig and Jeff were our installers. They came out around noon and stayed until 1AM! They had to take out the old furnace piece by piece because it was too big! These guys were amazing. They didn't have to stay that long. They didn't have to stay during the thunderstorm. They were dedicated. They had to come back the next day for another 8 hours! Can't say enough good things about these guys. My tenant is happy. I feel at ease with the system. All new equipment and ducting. Can't complain. read more

PRICE GOUGE ON FIRST TIME HOME OWNERS I'd like to start by stressing this review is solely based on pricing. Our AC wasn't cooling on Friday night. Saturday morning I called 5 places and Innovative was the only vendor to answer. The technician arrived with two hours of my first call and was VERY nice, professional, knowledgeable. He fixed the issue no problem but we were charged $500+ for a part that's available online for $20-25. I was even contacted by another mechanic who confirmed he would've only charged $100 for the part. Again, that was just for the part. So $225 for emergency service, 500+ for the part. They're offer to set this right was to give me 1 year of maintenance as if I trust them and want to stay in a working relationship after this price gouge tactic has been exposed. Anyways, kudos to innovative... They "got us" first time home owners. Lesson learned, so goes life. read more

Sadly, I knew my 18 year old Carrier A/C system was on its last legs last summer, so I figured I'd work to replace it early in the season before the mad rush! I usually don't leave bad reviews unless a brand or company just destroys their credibility with me and unfortunately Innovative Mechanical did that. My AC broke in the middle of the heatwave probably like others, my house was increasingly hot but they accommodated my timing preferences and were available a day later. Jump to that day, they gave me a window of 12-2 pm and then later informed it would be more around the 2-4 range, okay that's fine. It then turned to 4-6 and then once 6 pm hit and no one showed up we asked for some clarity on when someone would show up, to which we were told they would call the tech and inform us. I waited an entire day in my hot house for someone to arrive only to have all communication promptly drop off. No one responded to our emails, calls, etc and I guess just left for the weekend. I hired another company who promptly showed up the next day and fixed my ac in a timely fashion. It is now Monday and still no one has even bothered to return any communication . While I understand we are in a heatwave the complete lack of communication was appalling. Extremely poor experience and honestly would not recommend them if you're in an urgent situation. read more

My HVAC unit was having issues cooling after switching it over for the season. After reading the reviews for Innovative Mechanical I gave them a call and was able to get a next day appointment with a service window of 3pm-5pm. At 3:55pm the next day I received a call from the technician letting me know he was here. Jacob was very polite and extremely knowledgeable in solving my issues. He was able to run diagnostics and immediately pin point where the issue was. He took time to explain what was happening as well as provide me with a solution and information to keep in mind down the line for my system. IM worked us in and tested my outside compressor during a rain storm. We needed a new unit (to replace the 17 year old unit). It took a week to get one (parts shortages abound). I had them install 5-inch filter media cabinets on both of my HVACs. The folks that showed up were professional, courteous, and knowledgable, but didn't do a 100% job on the first HVAC. It leaked pretty badly, so no bueno there. I messaged the office on Yelp and the office manager called me and wanted to make it right. The next day their service manager came out and finished the installation himself, and fixed the leaky job on the first HVAC. I double-checked all his work and he was not offended that I did so despite me not being an HVAC expert. That's a true professional. I'd give them 4.5 stars if yelp allowed for half-stars, but they deserve a round-up due to their willingness to fix the issues I reported. I definitely recommend them--they're very busy, which is a good sign, but I would encourage them to scale carefully. As a small business owner myself, I understand the difficulties of having more work than humans. Revenue isn't worth your reputation. read more

Innovative Mechanical replaced my AC system and did a great job for a reasonable price. For reference, I had 12 different highly rated companies come out to initially quote the project. I received quotes ranging from $10.3K to $17.9K and Innovative Mechanical was one of the least expensive. The owner, Chad, is very friendly and professional. When he first came out to provide a quote, he patiently answered all my questions and didn't try to upsell me like many of the larger companies did. I went with a Bryant Preferred 2-stage system (identical to Carrier Performance) based on my own research and his recommendation. The house in now noticeably less humid and more comfortable compared to our old 1-stage system. The install team ran into a few issues during the replacement, but Chad was quick to address them and kept an open line of communication. The Water Heater they Installed is working fine, however, this is the worst deal possible. Instead of letting them replace my water heater I allowed myself to be talked into a New Outside Unit which turned out to be a RENTAL, My Payments never reduce the $5,000 plus that it will cost to be done with the rental. I could not be any more pleased with the level of professionalism and courtesy I received from Chad, Meagan and stellar technician Kainan. My request for a quote was responded to within an hour and Chad came out the following day to do a walk through and evaluate my basement needs. Editing my recent review. After supposedly clearing the clog and getting the AC up and running, it cut out again after two hours. Called the company back out that we have a maintenance contract with. It turns out that the pipe is still clogged and when Innovative tried to clear the clog, they damaged the pipe and caused a crack in the fitting, causing water to leak onto the sheetrock in one of our upstairs bedrooms. Original company is working hard to solve the problem and come up with a solution. So all in all, we paid Innovative $750, the a/c wasn't fixed, and Innovative caused additional damage was caused to our home. I would not recommend you use them. read more

I believe I have posted a review about Innovative in 2020 when I had a serious emergency in my home. A contractor accidentity tapped into the Freon line in the master bedroom. It was not his fault, blame it on the builder who constructed the home! Regardless of the outcome of this fiasco, the response and the quality of the technician that was sent to our home to address the issue was phenomena! When it was all said and done, Innovative made the repair as if it never happened! Since 2020 I have been using them for upgrades, yearly services (highly recommended) refrigeration concerns. They also offer estimates for work in and around your home where a/c is a challenge. The staff, the owner the technicians are all hands on deck as a company. It is rare that you will find this type fo relationships that overlap. Each employee takes responsibility to make your experience personal and professional. I have had some of the best experiences with this company on a whole and I often refer them to friends and family. So there you have it! Contacted them thru Yelp to get a quote for a new HVAC system. They replied thru Yelp messaging and we set an appointment for between 2pm-5pm. At 4:57pm on the day of the appointment, my phone rings and it is the dispatcher, saying that their "day has gotten really backed up and it's looking more like 7pm-ish". I told her that was not going to work for me and we would need to reschedule. She says she will reschedule me with "Chad" - who she described as the "Service Manager". On the Yelp Messaging it says he is the "owner". A quick search of the Secretary of State's Business Licensing Division lists "Chad Ferguson" as the registered agent for this business, so either way... "Chad" is pretty important at Innovative Mechanical and should know what he's doing when he shows up to my house, right? ‍ The dispatcher tells me that Chad doesn't do "appointment windows" - he does set appointment times. If he says 10am - he is ringing your doorbell at 10am. I said great. She scheduled me for TUESDAY at 10am. So then MONDAY (yes, the day BEFORE our scheduled appointment) - she calls me to confirm the appointment for 10am THAT morning. I told her it was scheduled for TUESDAY, but if he wanted to show up at 10am that day (Monday) - fine. She says - "great, he will be there at 10am sharp". Well, as you can guess by this point, 10am came and went. At 10:30am, I finally called and asked if he was coming or not. (I work from home and had meetings to attend shortly.) She assured me he was "in the area" and would be arriving directly. Closer to 11am, Chad arrives. Not wearing a mask. No foot covers for his shoes (so he took them off instead). He never looked up into the attic where all of the ductwork is located, even after I explained to him that I was concerned about how one room was functioning specifically. He mansplained to me about why my home office is the hottest room in my house ("look at all the lights and electrical equipment in here!") but seemingly had no reply when I asked why then it is also the *coldest* room in the house in the winter? And when we went into my stand up crawl space, I was "schooled" on how I need to have it fully encapsulated to prevent mold. (Is he working a side hustle for AquaGuard or something?) Btw - I've lived here over six years, there is no mold, it is checked regularly, I am aware of the dangers and costs of mold remediation, etc etc etc. But, yes - thank you for the further mansplaining, Chad. And the best part was... when I got the quote back - their prices were MORE THAN TWICE the highest quote I received from all the other companies I had come out!! That's another thing Chad "schooled" me on when he was standing in my home... not to go with the lowest quote. No worries, Chad. I had plenty of companies come out. But Innovative Mechanical was *more than twice* what the next guy was. I guess they charge extra for all the mansplaining. read more
