Jaime is a complete pro. I think he's new to Yelp, so doesn't have as many reviews as others, but after working with him I can vouch that he's a *seasoned expert*. In general, getting a tree cut down is an expensive decision, and a stressful one, at that. I asked for quotes from a few companies and he was not only the first to respond, he worked me into his schedule for three days later and had the best quote -- AND he was super patient when it took me a few weeks to get all of my other quotes together and make a decision. Once I did, then he turned my request around so fast that I still can't believe that it's already finished.
I asked a few companies for quotes. The one other company (besides Jaime) that made it out for a quote said, because the tree was too dead, they would need to cut down several other trees to bring in a bucket truck. This they decided after several visits. I didn't want to cut down additional perfectly healthy trees, so when the March winds picked up and my old dead pine swayed over my newly renovated house, I texted Jaime again. This was on a Friday night. He was out Saturday morning to confirm his strategy, and Sunday he arrived bright and early to take the tree down.
Now all of this would be impressive alone, but the fact is that we are talking about cutting down massive, dead tree. I bought this house with the tree already dead, and at this point, large limbs were just falling off in the slightest breeze. It certainly wasn't climbable to cut, but it was surrounded by other trees and leaning towards a shed (which is included in my home appraisal) and my house. I assumed it would have to take out some limbs and maybe even damage a few trees, but when I compared the prices and the ease of working with Jaime, I decided it was worth it.
Let me tell you: that tree had basically one place it could fall and not take out anything else, and it was a drop-zone about 4 feet wide. Jaime and his team put that tree down EXACTLY where they wanted it to go, and not a single tree around it felt the impact. Simply incredible. Then, they cleaned it all up like it never even happened in a matter of a few hours.
My verdict: I'll never call anyone else. Service 100%, Skill 100%, Communication 100%. From my understanding, Jaime does landscaping work and a lot of fence building/repairs. I'll be calling him for help with those things, too. Couldn't recommend him more, and having vetted a few others, that not only comes from my experience working with Jaime, but comparing him to his competition.
Jaime, if you happen to read this: thank you!!! read more
