Lineberger's Tree Service has removed many trees on our property and provided other landscaping services for us for well over 10 years. We use them because their work is always top quality, no matter how difficult the job. We are particularly impressed by their attention to detail and care to avoid property damage. After the "Matthew Tree," (see above) I had fallen behind on my annual yard mulching tasks. After having worked with Lineberger's on thatTree removal, I contacted them after seeing they offered mulch delivery and spreading options at a reasonable rate. I estimated I needed 40 cubic yards of hardwood mulch to cover 2 years work of missed beds. They responded to my email in couple of days and provided their next available date which was a few weeks out. That was no big deal because emergency jobs always take priority, it was prime Spring weather and I was not in a rush. The team arrived on time. They completed the minor tree items we needed, trashed a old wood pile and then promptly tackled spreading the 40 cubic yards of mulch across multiple beds. At the end of the job, they cleaned up the driveway and beds never looked better! Overall, we are very pleased with the team, professionalism and attention to details. To be clear, they did not do any work for me. I called 3 places for an estimate and they were the only ones who sent back an email wanting me to describe what I wanted done and to send them pictures. No thanks, I don't believe I need to do their work. The $5,500 in tree removal went to a company that was happy to come out and see what I needed done. read more

I contacted Lineberger's to get some mulch delivered. They replied to my email within a few hours and sent me a quote. I accepted their quote and they were able to deliver the mulch the following morning. I asked that they dump the mulch on half of the driveway and they did exactly as asked. The mulch was high quality. I will definitely use Lineberger's again if I need mulch delivered in the future. They had great customer service and were very prompt with delivery. read more

Do not use Lineberger's Tree Removal Service. Bait and switch on the crane! We contracted the company to remove a tree from our home in Cary, NC. The original estimate was high. When we challenged the bid, we were told our job cost more because we required a crane. The crew arrived on time with the crane. However, the crane was not deployed. It was left on the street. We were told the weight of the crane would crack the driveway. The work was performed manually, but we were charged the full amount. The crew arrived at 8:30 and left at noon as promised. No additional personnel were brought in and no additional hours were required to complete the job. When asked about the crane, we were told the price is the price. We paid, but disputed the charge on the spot. I then also followed up with several emails to the owner seeking a refund. The owner was responsive, but made rude comments about my wife. Here are some quotes from an email regarding my wife: "...it was clear that she was overwhelmed" "It was an incredibly high maintenance situation working with her" "quite frankly she was unprofessional" "I would not recommend asking her to deal with contractors in the future if it can be prevented for her personal well-being." All of this from a single email! This is a bait and switch operation where the crane is used as a means to drive up the cost to the customer. Do not use Lineberger Tree Removal service, there are plenty of companies to choose from, try someone else. read more

We recently had an oak that did not survive the drought as well as other stressors. In addition, we had other tree issues I was concerned about in general. After working with other, non-ISA tree services, I decided that it was time to go with a real professional and found Lineberger's through the Certified Arborist website. This meant that the consult was not free and there was a travel charge (since we are not in Raleigh). Was it worth it? Definitely. Brent came out and took his time answering all of my questions about the trees in our yard and was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. His professionalism made an impression, too, and we hired him on the spot to take down our tree. The actual removal (a week later) was fast, very safe, and clean (they used a special machine, like a cherry-picker, as well as mattresses to not harm the yard). I couldn't have asked for a better service. I only wish that their other services were in our budget - we would have had them do at least two other jobs. They are not the cheapest tree service in town, but you aren't saving money if another tree service damages your roof or kills a tree that you just wanted trimmed. You can't ask for a better service than these guys. read more

We had a damaged and dying Elm in our front yard that unfortunately needed to come down. We reached out to three companies; one never returned our call, one came out and gave a noncommittal quote, and the third, Lineberger's, gave a detailed quote, explained three different options, and provided an itemized accounting for each option. We scheduled a time with them and then unfortunately had to reschedule, with which they were very accommodating. The day of service I came home to a beautiful new tree expertly installed where the old elm had stood and the elm laying in the yard (as requested!). They had included the cost of chipping it or removing it in the quote, however we wanted to do that portion ourselves. Lineberger's took down a tree that was only a few feet from my house. No damage occurred to the house or the yard, and I was able to leave my bird feeders in place while the crew worked on the tree. I chose Lineberger's since they did an excellent job when a tree landed on my house during a storm 5 years ago. Because they had insurance and because they were arborists, I wanted their expertise and education so that I was covered for any damages and very confident that they knew what they were doing in felling a tree. We needed some limbs and one tree removed, and some major pruning done. We also received valuable free advice! Lineberger's was working at my neighbors house and i needed only one tree removed so i hired them on the spot. As i have learned since, they were 50% higher than the competition, and took advantage of the fact I was in a hurry. They also never provided a written estimate or a final invoice. The service was performed in a satisfactory manner so no complaints there. I was running late for work so i cut them a check which was from the wrong account. Upon learning that the check bounced from the bank I immediately contacted Lineberger to make it right, before they even realized there was an issue. Upon contacting them and agreeing to pay the returned check fee, the President of the company told me the following: "you cannot seem to manage your banking issues" and that " you should tell my neighbors that you bounce checks". Direct quotes from the email sent by the President of the company to me. I have never been treated in such a disrespectful manner by anyone in my life. I advise you to steer clear of this company, not because of the service, but because they do not value their customers at all and do not treat them with common courtesy or respect. read more

The crew from Linebergers did a great job on 3 trees (plus stumps) that we needed taken down. One tree was pretty close to the house, and they got it down safely and efficiently. So efficient, in fact, that they charged me less than they originally estimated because the work took less time than they predicted. I contacted this company and after a few weeks got an email wanting pictures. Sent the pictures and after a week nothing. Called 2 times, no answer and left a message. No call back no nothing. Called Jackson's Tree Service and got a call back 2 days later and by the weekend someone came and wrote up an estimate. Work is being done this weekend by Jackson's and Lindeberger finally contacts me a month later asking me if I still needed service and wanting info on underline cables. To me this is a sign of a company that is very unorganized or doesn't care about a little job. In either case I will never call them again. read more

I love these guys! We had a huge Oak tree in our yard that had been struck by lightning. Two of the huge limbs were dying and a potential threat to our kids play area. We had them first remove the limbs in hopes of saving this lovely tree. When the rest of the tree started to die, they came back and took the rest down. We had them chop the oak into firewood, and they stacked it neatly in usable sizes. Overall, they are both professional and reasonably priced. Recently they started selling mulch products as well, and we just purchase a 20 yard load from them. The price was over $6.00 a yard less than what we were paying another local company for the same product, and they followed our delivery instructions to the letter! I've used Lineberger's Tree Service twice now, for two large jobs. The first a few years ago to remove over 60 pine trees from one of my properties in an effort to allow the existing hardwoods to better thrive. This involved having to work in a very confined space which also involved avoiding a septic field so as not to cause any damage there. The second job at another property involved three solid days with his large crew and involved trash pickup, tree debris clean up and removal, tree and stump removal, pruning and light grading, with careful selection of the trees that were chosen to remain. In both cases, they went over and above the initial scope of the assignment in order to deliver an awesome end result. Very impressed with Brent's knowledge, professionalism and integrity. Lineberger's Tree Service does not leave you hanging out on a limb! We had an unusual situation of needing to move a sofa that could be accessed via a third floor balcony. We contacted Lineberger's to see if this was something they could do. Beverly responded within minutes and after a bit of schedule adjusting the guys completed the work the very same day; and on the weekend to boot! Out came one sofa, in went another using their crane. It was as easy as that. Their communication was great, the service was excellent and the price was in line with what others posted for use of a crane. We could not be more pleased. We are extremely satisfied with Linebergers. We had 4 houses in our cul-de-sac contract them and they showed up with a crane and several trucks. They spent the day and the cost was less than those guys who randomly show up at your house asking if you want any trees cut. All trees were removed and the area was clean when they left. Linebergers just came out with a chipper and I had an excellent experience with their service. At first I was not going to continue with them because the emails were strange or possibly seemed deceptive about charges, and I saw this same thing written in a review. If you do not get the help you need, you need to get in touch with Brent Lineberger or Nikki and they will answer your questions straight away. Since the storms, the tree services have been overbooked, and many have high minimums or a minimum plus hourly that seem inflated. Lineberger's charged for their driving time but it was definitely a reasonable charge. The crew of two they sent me were very nice, personable, and native English speaking (big plus if you care what happens to your trees), and even surprisingly presentable given the messiness of the work. They fit me in with a cancellation while other services were not calling back or had to come out for an estimate while Lineberger's came straight out and got it done. I coordinated with neighbors to do our tree pruning at the same time. I have not received my bill yet but if it is as I expect then (will update review) I would call them again if I needed someone and would not even be bothered contacting anyone else! read more
