4.8 Quaint little cottage. Very nice interior with beautifully landscaped exterior. NO AC! Room has a tower fan only. Bed is right next to the front & only window. Sheer curtain! We hung a blanket over the window for privacy but blocked any cool air coming into the room. Walked to beach & downtown shops. Would stay here again!!!! read more

This place is so cute and quaint. Very thought out items throughout the rooms, a large bathtub, very clean and great service. It's a little ways from the beach but not too far. It's definitely good exercise and nice to go out and look around on the way there. We would definitely stay here again! read more

We stayed here for 1 night because we liked the proximity to the beach. The room itself was very clean upon arriving. However, the rooms are somewhat "cabins" in how they're set up next to one another with a cute deck and seating and the windows in the front offers no privacy. (See pic!). The curtains were light tan and sheer and anyone walking by can see in your room and you can see everyone walking by. Plus it's noisy when people are entering and exiting their rooms next door. I didn't see a phone in the room to call the front desk but they provide a paper with the number and office hours. Samantha checked us in and was very nice though! When we got up to shower the next morning, the shower handle was a little funky lol. My husband had to sit and turn it around and around for a couple mins to get it on and when it turned on the water was extremely hot. Which I guess is better than cold! read more

Disgusting place! Found blood stains on the pillow case, hairs on the dishes and in the tub. Jets weren't working. Loud construction in the room next to us. Mary the receptionist was rude and even the manager Conny said she refuses to retire even though they get a ton of complaints on her. They are liars instead of just saying we prefer you don't stay here. We are not trashy people. We clean up and care for the places we stay because if we normally enjoy a stay like the first stay, we will come back. Second stay was awful and now they are just lying. Don't waste your money here. Not sure how it has that good of ratings....Just overall disappointing... it is close to the beach if you can get across the Hwy that is ... which sounds like it runs through the living room... front desk team was nice we had the "two room" suite well kinda literally one creepy back bedroom with a queen bed. upstairs with a full bed and two twins ( my dogs Costco bed is more comfortable) placed randomly. upstairs. Make sure you settle into the sauna upstairs is so hot you can't sleep..... and walls are paper thin.... mind you a two room suite is not equipped with two queen beds ????????? What a joke. What if two couples split the two room suite .... they have to fight over 1 queen..... just save your money and time and keep driving to Rockaway beach far far better than cannon beach! And I'm not mentioning what I paid a night... people you folks would laugh at me! read more

Pretty much the worst communication I've ever had with an inn/hotel. Tried calling all day with no one answering or picking up during business hours. Did not provide pack n play as requested and tried to upcharge for it when my husband asked again in person. Did not call us to let us know when our room would be ready though the receptionist said she would. Office not attached to inns, it's about a block away, fyi. Our 2 bedroom suite was meh. Only 1 sofa provided in shared space with means for a unit that could sleep 6, only 2-3 people have a place to sit on the sofa. It is close to the beach but that's really all it has going for it. I would not stay here again. read more

I have never left a bad review in my life, but this one is truly deserving of it. I wanted to leave this a five star review as we had planned on returning a few weeks later with our youngest son, but after our experience we will not. We did like our cottage, as it had ample room for a family and a pet (if you wanted to bring one). However, that is where the problem lies... We initially made a reservation for ourselves and our dog, but we did not end up bringing our dog, because he got sick. We called a few days prior to our arrival to let them know that we would not be bringing our pet. We called several times and no one ever answered the phone. So, we left a voicemail and followed it up with an additional voicemail the next day. We never received a call back. When we checked in we let the front desk know that we tried to reach them and wanted to make sure that they knew we did not end up bringing our dog. She said no problem and that the pet charge was removed (though we weren't feeling confident that this was done). Upon check-out they said we were good to go, but my husband insisted on a copy of the receipt, because he had a feeling that the pet charge was not removed. Good thing he asked, because it was indeed not removed as they said it was. The front desk staff called someone on the phone and after much conversation came back and said the amount will be credited back and we will see it in 7-10 days. We noticed on the return receipt that they had taken away the pet charge and then added it back (zeroing out the balance), but they assured us we would see the credit. Of course, the credit never came. We emailed the front office to let them know and their attitude was that this was no longer up for discussion. "It has been done. If you don't see it call your bank." We emailed back and asked them for the receipt showing the return authorization...no response. Unfortunately, this had to be resolved by way of a dispute on our credit card bill. This has caused so much time, effort and frustration. read more

I am only giving this one star due to an item left behind not being returned. I do love these cute cabins, the jetted tub was nice except there were some parts that kept falling off. The customer service horrible. Monotone voice, no smile at the front desk, even when I called in and asked for the code to the keylock box as I was instructed online, I was told "Come to the office". "Okay, where is the office, I don't see it".... "The first one" "The first one, what?" "location" "Oh, there are two? can I have the address?" ::quick mumbles:: I took a load of items to the car to checkout, saw the housekeepers and said, just one more load and we will be out. The man asked which number, I said 15. My partner had just bought a new watch and placed it on the fireplace mantle. I saw it as I was taking a load out to the car to check out and yelled back "Don't forget your watch on the mantle!" We loaded the car, got on the road, had lunch and then further down the road he said "Shoot! My watch. I left it on the mantle" (I'll leave out the...didn't you hear me and such...lol) I called the office, left a voicemail about this. I never got a call back. Then I sent a message online "Hello, I left a message after checking out about a watch that was left behind this weekend in room number 15, it was left on the fireplace mantel. I saw it when walking out and sadly my bf didn't hear me to grab it and we didn't realize it until we were already on the way home. We checked in to room 15 on Saturday 12/10 and checked out just after 11 on Sunday 12/11. I haven't received a call back from the message I left." This is the reply "We have already checked where the lost and found items are and there is no watch that describes, everything that our housekeeping department finds in the rooms is returned to the office and the guest is immediately notified. to let know that they left personal items in the room so they can pick it up or we can send it immediately but unfortunately nothing with that description you give us was found, we are sorry, we asked all the staff " I am mad at ourselves for not grabbing it. We looked everywhere to be sure that we weren't wrong. I understand that we are responsible for out own items but it just seems weird that it just happened that quickly read more

Worst customer service I've ever received at a hotel. Don't be fooled by the pretty website! When I booked our stay I was planning on bringing our dog and agreed to the $50 pet fee. He became ill with kennel cough before our trip and we were unable to bring him. I called to notify the hotel and left a voicemail as nobody answered. I received no return call which looking back was red flag #1. When we checked in I explained the situation again and was told the pet fee would be removed. I was a bit unsure if this would happen as she didn't note anything in the computer so thought I better ask for a receipt when we checked out to make sure. Well as I expected the pet fee was still on our bill. I once again explained we didn't bring our dog and asked for it to be removed. The man checking us out couldn't figure out how to do this but assured me I'd see a credit on my card within 7-10 days. Two weeks later no credit had been posted. I contacted the hotel to inquire about the pet fee (FOR THE FOURTH TIME). I was abruptly told my card was credited and I need to contact my bank. I called my credit card company and they hadn't received anything from the hotel other than the original charged. I initiated a dispute for the $50 pet fee with my card company. The hotel actually told my card company we were billed correctly and the dispute should be denied. Thankfully I actually have it in writing from the hotel that we should have been credited back. Absolutely unbelievable that this business would lose customers over an illegitimate $50 fee! Will never return, which is sad because we actually enjoyed our stay other than being scammed. read more

My wife and I will never frequent this place again. On a Pacific Northwest trip my wife and I were traveling from Port Angeles (Olympic National Park) and anticipating after hours arrival, so I tried to check in online. The mobile check in link was not working, so I called the number per our email to which I was curtly told this is for emergencies only. I then called the office number to be told it will be fine and to call the number on the door for instructions when you arrive. Arriving after 9pm, we see the office is closed with a posted sign saying to call the office number and press 5 for emergencies. No answer, voice mail left. I then called the "emergency" number, again no answer, voice mail left. This was repeated over the course of 40 minutes with no answer. At this time, we decided to check with other hotels. We received more kindness and helpfulness from the staff of the Hallmark Resort in 5 mins. My wife in a fit of desperation texted the emergency number to which we then received a response telling us the code to the mailbox that had our room number and key. Had she not done this, we would have been staying in another hotel and out money. Now some would say well you eventually were in contact. What would have happened if we did not text? When we then followed the text with a question, we received no response until the next morning when the number called me at 852am. I did not answer, out of concern my anger would best me. We checked out and informed the desk clerk we would like to talk with management about our stay. This was on 10-13-2024 at 9am. We have still not been contacted. This was unquestionably the worst customer service and concern we have ever encountered in our years of traveling. After arriving home, I was notified we had a credit from this hotel, so I honestly felt management had heard our voicemails and responded. I was sadly mistaken; we were just charged twice. Absurdity at its finest. Response from hotel was dishonest and honestly offensive. "We're sorry you had some issues with communication. Our front desk agent gave you the code in the evening when you called before 9pm and the manager answered your call when you called in the morning asking where you should leave your keys when you checked out." BOLD FACE LIES. As of today (23 days later,) the hotel still has not addressed our complaint read more

Probably one of the worst decisions in hotels I've made in a long while... I paid a premium for the room, as this is a small beach town in the summer at last minute. But, my wife and I were looking forward to a nice weekend getaway at the beach and from the looks this seems like an ideal spot - close to beach, in down town, not a ton of rooms. However, once we got here it went down hill in a hurry. The front desk doesn't welcome you, rather they scoff that they have to acknowledge new guest who arrive; as in the front desk staff treated the guests in front of us, and my wife & I, like we were a major inconvenience for showing up on time to check-in. There is a litany of hidden fees, no air conditioning (it read 82 inside the room @ 4pm) and the room smells like old moldy cigarettes. There are two locations for the hotel; the one we got assigned was across a highway. Our bathroom window looks onto the highway. So, to keep it livable you must open a window- but then everyone can see your business as you use the restroom! No fun. The bedding smelt Smokey and mildewy, the pillows flat and dated. The room over all is small and cramped- not in a cottage or cabin cozy kinda way, but in an unplanned crappy room kinda way. Save your money, find another place to stay. I sure won't come back. Rather sleep in my car. read more

Came to enjoy a long weekend for our anniversary, It turned into a nightmare. At 9 am the first morning they turned off the water and sewer to fix a water issue, 7 1/2 hours later we got water back but it scaled some of the rooms. The sign said water going out from 11am to 1pm at check in. What a shock when 9am hit. Then they called and said, "your waters back in". Got to the room and no dice, turned off again because guests got scalded in the shower. But wait, the desk lady said, here gave some chocolate! I just wanted to wash my a$$. Then it was, don't worry, I'll take care of you with a free night in the winter when there's falling from the sky. No water, no toilets, no meals. Total BS. read more

Tl;tr: the room I was given in no way matched the rest of the rooms shown on the site, or the one I booked. I was hoping for a nice anniversary weekend. I booked the inn at haystack rock on the expectation of white walled, hardwood, open, cute little bungalow style unit based on photos on their site. We were placed in a old, shag carpet suite that felt more like a collection of hallways. The front of the suite faced the street and the back (bedroom) abutted right up against a fire pit which had people partying there until late, all with no sound insulation. I can't overstate how close it was, or how freely sound passed through the walls: when I went to close the bedroom window my face was inches away from another guests head, peering down in his bald spot as his wife stared at me from the other side of the fire. It felt like camping in tents with strangers - and not in a good way. In the end it felt like a giant gross bait and switch. The room I was given was *nothing* like advertised. After talking with the front desk she said that she felt bad for us, understands our situation, but can't really help. I ended up walking out on our 2-night booking after an hour. I paid well over $300/night for a shitty motel equivalent I would feel cheated paying $100/ night for. Maybe not all of the rooms are like this. But my recommendation to the inn is to never rent out room 8 or 9 at all. Close them down until you can bring them up to standard. read more

Expensive, small but comfortable. Enjoyed all places I've previously stayed in Cannon Beach better. All had better beach access 2.

Cutest little inn. So close to the beach and downtown. Will definitely be going back.

We rented a spot here through Airbnb and it was a perfect little spot for our one night getaway to Cannon Beach. We were at site 2, which not to worry was just a less than a minute walk across the street with parking right in front of the cottages. The cottage itself was clean, well-stocked, and very cozy. Staff was great and brought us wine glasses late at night when we called to ask for them. People were having a great time sitting outside at the firepits- really nice addition to the place. It was also just a quick walk into town and very close to the beach. I would stay here again and thought it was worth the price. read more

Very underwhelmed by this place! This was by far the most expensive place we stayed on our trip down the coast and it was by far the worst. We had a 2 bedroom suite. When you open the front door, you are met by a steep staircase that goes up to the bedrooms and a tiny bathroom in between. The main floor has a combined kitchen and a sofa - not enough room for 4 of us to hang out. There is also no AC as many places don't have it but it was hot in August. Oppressively hot. We stayed at so many other places on the coast to compare so I knew what was out there. This place is close to the beach in walking distance and sits right on the main drag if that is what you are looking for. No views from our room. Nothing special for $463 a night! read more

Called to make a reservation after their online system would not allow the booking on their site direct. The rep on the phone quoted me a price of $414 (prior to taxes and fees) which matched their online site, and said he would put a hold on the property for me but had to get a manager's approval for the booking. He said someone would call me the next day, which never happened. I attempted to call the manager number he gave me, but it just rang to a VM box which was not set up, so no ability to leave a message. When I called the reservations line back again the next day, I spoke to a new rep who quoted me a new base rate, over $100 higher than the first rate, for the same room. She also confirmed the first room was never held for me. I requested she speak to the original rep and honor the price given, and even offered to share the screen shot from their website showing the original lower rate. She said she would not do that and would not ask for an approval. This place is a scam with bait and switch pricing, don't bother booking with them. read more

We had room 8 and literally just checked out 10 minutes ago. $185 night with no sleep. Room 8 is the one by the street and you share two walls with other room. You can hear every conversation and if there are kids around their yelling is heard throughout. Update: got a call soon after we left and offered a partial refund. Update #2: refund was promised before they saw this review. Today they asked if I would change it. Keep you $90 -- worst experience ever. read more

I've been trying to cancel my reservation for three days with this property. I've sent emails, left messages and called hundreds of times. No one will answer or get back to me. I have a terminal heart condition and just received a message from the Washington and Oregon Emergency Stats that the air quality on the coast will be dangerous for people with heart/lung disease. I can't risk my health staying there this time. Its also raining ash where I live in Washington, so I don't feel safe leaving my ho.e and staying down there. I hope they are not refusing to answer me so they can steal my money, because with the way the economy is, I can't loose that much! Please fix this and I will update my review. read more

We were charged $1920 for 2 nights! We were quoted over the phone for half that price. These guys are scammers. These are old cottages, small bathroom, old carpet, no a/c , no pool or hot tub, not even a view of the ocean....for nearly $2000. You cannot even hear the ocean from this place but you can hear the noisy street traffic because you won't be able to breath without the windows open. No thanks. Atrocious customer service! Beware!! We booked and received confirmation for a 3 night stay. Phone call from Inn later to say only one night available and nothing else available. Complete reservation debacle and horrible customer service. So we grabbed their advertised 3 night deal for $250 plus tax and made a reservation. I had to re book due to my job as an essential worker managing a homeless shelter in Seattle. Fast forward. Bags packed, clothes hung in the car, restaurant reservations, cat care arranged and paid for but wait....phone rings from the Inn at Haystack Rock and the front desk person confirms our reservation. Yes. Wanted to run our card for $1k and some change when the deal was for $250 plus tax. Wow. I asked to speak with the manager/owner but was told by the front desk person that she'd contact the owner/manager. She did and relayed that the employee that I spoke to was no longer employed and therefore would not honor the deal. Incredulous. Never have I experienced such a disregard for customers. The Inn advertised having a laundry room but it does not. As a matter of fact Cannon Beach does not have a laundry facility. You will need to drive to Seaside, or as the front desk suggested, go to the RV park as they have a laundry room. We had room #8 which does have a fireplace. It just doesn't work. The sitting area has very uncomfortable chairs so there is really no where to sit and relax. The place was fairly clean. The bed was comfortable which was a plus. The room is also very noisy. It faces the street so you get a lot of car noise. It's also right next to the office so you get all of that noise as well. Also most of the windows do not lock which to me seems very poor security. Also one of the window screens on the front window was torn. Looks like they tried to upgrade by painting. That's pretty much all they did. The price they charge for this room is really way overpriced. Will not stay here again. The room is dog friendly for an additional $50 fee. On a good note it's location to the town and beach is very good. Short walk. So in a nutshell...Overpriced, not well maintained. Stay elsewhere. read more

Nice little place. We had the room with a fireplace and a Jacuzzi which was nice, as it was very cold/wet outside for most of the trip. It's within good walking distance of the beach and many restaurants, so a great location. Our room had a (smallish) TV with cable and a DVD player, and the office lets you borrow a decent selection of DVDs for free. The room had a minifridge, microwave, coffeepot, and small counter / sink area if doing some basic meal prep. -1 stars due to the bed not being really comfortable, and some challenges keeping the room at a stable temperature. With the fire on, the room rapidly gets way too hot, with it off, it gets way too cold, and we couldn't find the sweet spot despite being there for four days. Also, the front door squeaked horribly. It was like strangling a rat to death every time we opened or closed the door to the point my girlfriend would flinch every time I touched the knob. I gave them a heads up and hopefully they'll fix it shortly. Overall, I'd probably stay here again. read more

We had a nice stay while we were in town for a friend's wedding. Check in and out we're easy. Room was nice, bathtub had jets and was very large. There was a tv with a DVD player and the office had a huge selection of movies. Little kitchenette in the room with a small fridge and silverware & kitchenware. The small porch and courtyard were very nice to sit around in the evening. They even had a fire pit with chairs that we enjoyed after dinner. Bikes to borrow on the premise which was a great touch. Only draw back is that there was a skylight in the middle of the room which didn't allow for us to sleep past 8am (we were there in summer). We'd recommend bringing eye masks for next time! read more

King bed my ass. More like a big double or a small queen. There was dirty laundry from a prior occupant and the kitchen was dirty. They apparently don't clean the kitchenette very often. The worst part though was that the hot water wasn't enough to fill the spa tub all the way to cover the jets. The reason I got this room was that tub for my wife. Fail. Fail. Fail. Want to go complain in the morning? To bad, nobody even near the office. On the plus side, it did have a nice gas fireplace. They provided sleepy monk coffee in room. I got a pretty good deal here through booking.com when we wanted to visit Cannon Beach for an art festival sort of last minute. We were able to check in early which was nice. The lady who checked us in was very nice and they have a pretty decent stack of DVDs should you need some entertainment. They do make sure you are stocked up on local coffee, Andes mints and decent bath stuff. Our room was cute and clean and we did not hear our neighbors at all (we were in room #5). I must say the location was perfection and we walked everywhere since the hotel is right in the middle of Cannon Beach's main road. We stayed in their Guest house and while it appeared to be nice, when we went to go to sleep we found the bed spread to be dirty...it appeared to have a few boogers on it. When I went to get a replacement blanket from the front desk person a "sorry" would have been nice, though we were apologized to for when we went to check out. There were also quite a few ants through out the house. I think two stars is being a little generous here. Based upon or initial experience, we will never stay there again read more

This place was a "just right" gem for my son and I. We spent 2 nights and 3 days in Cannon Beach during Spring vacation. We were allowed to check in early, because the room (8) had been serviced already. That was a bonus, as the weather was a little foul. Upon getting settled in, the weather cleared up and we walked across Hemlock via W. Adams, to the beach! So easy. Though I did not read any reviews of this place until after my stay, I will only agree with one comment: unit 8 has thin walls...allowing us to hear our neighbors. Pat and the other lady working the desk were courteous and informative. The accommodations & grounds were impeccably clean and orderly. This small unit offered a two range stove top, microwave, coffee maker, dishes for 4, pots & pans, wine glasses, etc. The kitchenette / dining / living room was "just right" for my 6 yr old son and I. It had 2flat screen tv's w/ built in DVD player, along with free movie rentals- perks for my kiddo! I really only missed having a tub. This unit only has a shower, that does come with a wide range, soft spray shower head. The unit has ample storage space if you are playing on staying a week. The grounds also has a court yard that I might have used if the weather had not been showers! It is within walking distance to downtown; we walked to the post office as well as the candy shop & yarn store. You bet I would recommend them again. read more
