She was thorough, and worked for more than 10 minutes trying to get the item printed -- all to no avail. The HobbyTown employee withheld this information. Also, the employees seem very disinterested in helping and only offer advice that will help them achieve maximum profit, not long term customers. I walked in, said hello, and was immediately stopped by the woman at the front because I was carrying my laptop backpack and shopping bags from the Walmart next door. Before I could even browse, she abruptly told me I would have to leave my bag at the front of the store. The interaction felt accusatory and uncomfortable, as if I was being treated like a criminal for simply walking in with personal belongings. I initially thought she might be offering a cart to help lighten the load, but instead I was asked to leave my property unattended. I politely declined. I would never feel comfortable leaving my laptop, wallet, and personal items at the front of a store. As a result, I decided to purchase my potting soil and chicken feed from Walmart instead. Unfortunately, what could have been my first time shopping here will now be my last. Making customers feel suspected or unwelcome is not good for business. I doubt anyone would appreciate being asked to leave their purse, cash, and laptop unattended at the front of a hardware store. Customer service and first impressions matter, and this experience fell far short of what I would expect.
