I've been following this place on Instagram and when I decided to get another tattoo for my 50th birthday, I went there based on the quality of the art. Ted worked with me to get it looking exactly the way I wanted, and he did a fabulous job while also being a great conversationalist! I will definitely return here the next time I want some more ink.

I love love love it at this tattoo shop. I got my first tattoo at this shop from Tony, who is one of the shop owners and had the most amazing experience. He liked my original idea, showed me two versions and I ended up liking his idea better than my own and love it! My second tattoo was from Emily who no longer works there, but the experience was still great none the less. I was able to sit in with my best friend for her first tattoo while Amanda did her thing. I've never had a bad experience here, Everyone is helpful and easy to talk to, I recommend this tattoo shop and the many artists to anyone I know, I even got my husband a gift certificate for this shop specifically (yes, you can do that) If you're looking for a comfortable place to get your first tattoo or a place to be a regular at, this is the place I recommend!

Great artists to have conversations with, absolutely welcoming. Gotten a couple tattoos with Andy and she's the best, light handed and amazing at her work. As soon as I stepped in for my first tattoo my dad and I was offered Chic-Fil-A by Ted. Just got my 3rd session done yesterday with Andy and she's the best, Gwenda (or Glenda) the shops apprentice is extremely nice as well. Would recommend going here if you want to be well taken care of, and want amazing work done, all artists are amazing.

Me and my friend came in today to get matching tattoos. As you can see by the pictures we very clearly did not leave with the same tattoo. My friends tattoo is not the same shape or even spacing as mine. The tattoos were drawn on with sharpie instead of there being a stencil used, and that is very obvious by how they turned out. I dont know what we're supposed to do with this, but there is no reason we should have paid for something that messy. I'm not sure if this is fixable, but I didn't want to keep it without saying something.

Ted is awesome. He's a good artist and he takes his time. He's a little more on the expensive side. But I think it's worth it for a sense of security knowing I'm getting his best effort and patience. I've been under his needle for about 16 hours so far and have about another 16 to go, and I don't regret any of it. He's open to idea and has a flexible schedule. His line work, attention to detail, and shading are insane.

I came w my best friend to get tattoos together and we loved it here! Our artist Ted was friendly and really wanted to make sure we were set with our placements and overall design before he got started tattooing us. Amanda is AMAZING! I am so happy she helped fix my tattoo. Left pic is before, right is after. As you can see, I was left with a horrendous coloring job on my mermaid- not at all how I wanted it to turn out. I emailed ink illusions with photos asking if they could help and Amanda was quick to respond and take on the job. She was very clear and honest in not knowing exactly how it would turn out, as she was coloring over someone else's work which I appreciated. During the appointment, we took things step by step, trying a color and seeing how it looked. She was very communicative, knowledgeable, and on top of that, so friendly and fun to talk to! I have many tattoos and have never had such a great experience with an artist. 10/10 would recommend and will be back for more!

I've gotten three tattoos total here (so far) and I haven't had a single problem with any of them. My first tattoo was with Amanda, and while I didn't take care of it very well it still looks incredible after 5-6 years. I've worked with Ted twice now and his line work is PERFECT! I didn't have a solid idea of what I wanted for my second piece, just a couple images I had for reference, and he took in my suggestions and made a perfect piece of art for me. After we were done with the base design, he suggested a couple changes to the tattoo to make it look better - and it definitely makes the tattoo 5x better. He also has a very light hand, and it's very clear he loves what he does and takes a lot of pride in his work. I seriously can't recommend this shop enough.

In early March I got my largest tattoo done by Ted. First of all, Ted is just an all around amazing, kind, and down-to-earth dude with a good sense of humor- exactly the kind of person you want to interact with especially if your nervous or not familiar with the process of getting a tattoo. From the beginning Ted was easy to interact with and gave me exactly what I wanted in terms of the style I wanted my piece to look like. As a health care provider I felt very comfortable and sanitary in Ted's room (including their COVID protocol), and was absolutely thrilled with how my tattoo turned out. I have gotten my 2 tattoos here and both experiences were great! My first one has held up well I think it's been about 2 years and it still surprises me when I see it sometimes. For my second tattoo I decided to go for the tops of my feet! OUCH ‍ Nate was great though and I love my tattoos. He did my daughter and my husband all in the same day. My daughters tattoo is beautiful and my husbands is great too! In fact he's headed back for his third one this weekend with Nate. I was s little overzealous with what I thought I needed to do for my feet so they will need a touch up. My fault not theirs. I went to Disneyland a couple weeks ago and I got compliments on them the day I wore flip flops I think every artist here does fantastic work. Highly recommend!!

SXX8K I8 P``1`I wanted a tattoo to honor my wife of 65 yrs, who is now deceased. At 90 years old, I was told the skin gets thin and it's very difficult to get a crisp tattoo. I came to the area to visit family and noticed they all had tattoos. I mentioned to them I wanted a tattoo (at 90 years) old. They all said Tony from Ink illusions in Kirkland would look at me and let me know if I was eligible or not. Tony said he would design a small one to go on my arm. My recent visit to Ink Illusions for ear piercings didn't go as smoothly as expected. Despite my intention to get three piercings, I ended up with just one simple lobe piercing after a two-hour session that extended past closing time. While the piercer was friendly, she seemed a bit overwhelmed and confused during the process. Despite providing clear instructions, there were mix-ups with the piercings and jewelry placements. Additionally, I was surprised to learn that the piercer was still in training, which was not mentioned beforehand. Overall, while the experience was not what I had hoped for, the piercer's friendly demeanor and apparent knowledge were appreciated. However, I would hesitate to return, and if you do decide to visit, be prepared for potentially lengthy appointments. (I also spent $195 for one tiny, dainty lobe piercing, of which, $115 was the gold jewelry, to be clear.) read more

I LOVE ink illusions. Emily does an amazing fine line work. I get all my tattoos from her. She's amazing! Looking for someone to help design your new tattoo and to do straight detailed lines? Ink illusions is the place to go! I have gotten a tattoo from Ted as well and he also does great work. I have not met anyone that isn't good at what they do here. They are absolute artists. He was able to bring my loose idea to life (a tribute to my recently deceased terrier) and took the time and care to explain everything and seek input. I just finished my full sleeve with Ted and I have got to say that he surpassed my expectations! Ted is an AMAZING artist. He will listen to what you have in mind and draw up exactly what you want. He is professional and nice. Don't let his looks fool you!! (He is not the typical full of tattoos, tattoo artist) Everyone I have met that works at Ink Illusions has been awesome! All extremely friendly. I would have never known the shop was even where it is because you can't see it from the street. I am sure glad google helped me find this little gem of a tattoo shop!!!!!! I am beyond satisfied with my sleeve and feel very blessed to have met Ted! read more

He was so chill that my daughter who came with me spontaneously got inked for the first time. She had been wanting to get one for a while but was scared of the process. I don't typically write reviews but the piercing work I'm doing with Jo is beyond my expectations. I spent a considerable amount of time researching different shops and talking with a few piercers. Not only did Jo totally understand what I was after but knew exactly where to get the piece made. It is beautiful. The biggest thing for me was her knowledge and her experience. I've seen so many piercings on friends from other shops not have good end results bc of placement and cleanliness and the actual jewelry. After talking with Jo and her taking the time to teach me so much valuable information I just can't say enough. No other shop even came close to her standards. I will never go anywhere else for piercings or ink. I wish I could leave ten stars. I am so grateful that I took the time to research shops and then find Ink Illusions and Jo. Also, she's fixing what another piercer did wrong. I'm just a very happy customer. read more

Amanda is AMAZING! She is kind, compassionate and a wonderful artist... I flew in to Kirkland (from Michigan) in February 2019 to be with my brother and sister on the anniversary of our beloved father's passing and I wanted to get some of his handwriting tattooed on my arm... Amanda did an amazing job! Every time I look at my arm, I feel my dad with me... I will be back again this coming February 2020 and I will be setting up an appointment with Amanda for more works of art... read more

I cannot say enough about Ted and the rest of the staff at Ink Illusions. Ted is an amazing artist who took a very basic idea of mine and turned it into a living work of art. The level of details in Ted's work amazed me after each appointment. You will most likely have to wait for an appointment with Ted BUT, it is worth the wait. Ted was awesome. From the first call I made to schedule a consult till the completion he was kind, considerate & very cooperative. He really listened to what I wanted, drew it up just as I asked. We modified a couple things like size & the length of the flower stem. He re-drew his sketch. The tat process was just great. Low pain, very tolerable. He was steady, quick, precise & asked several times how I was doing. We had great conversation. He listened to my whole life story basically. I asked his art experience too. Great guy, awesome Artist. I'd highly recommend Ted. You will get what you ask for! My husbands going next for his with Ted. read more

Andy did an amazing job! She was really sweet and very helpful. My husband and I showed up for walk-in tattoos and she was happy to oblige! She even stayed late to be able to finish both of ours since we were heading back to Ohio the next day. We will definitely be back when we move out here read more

Ted is awesome! My sisters and I came in for matching tattoos last year. We walked in, discussed what we wanted and he was great at turning our vision into reality. He did a really light, thin line (per our request). My sisters both look beautiful but mine needed a touch up after some fading one year later. He was super willing to touch it up and didn't even charge me for it, even though it had been so long. He made it look brand new again and I couldn't be happier. Ted is definitely the best as he genuinely wants you to love your tattoo forever read more

I just turned 18 and have been dying for a tattoo and was nervous about the whole process but I this great place and am so glad I decided on sticking to ink illusions... there are sooo many to choose from but I had Nate and he was great made sure I was comfortable and okay and the whole thing went so well. will for sure tell my friends about this place and choose them again! read more

Meet the Manager: Tony C.

Tony Callan is a veteran in the tattoo scene for 30 years. He started his career working for the Seattle tattoo Emporium and learnt from PA Steven, Danny Danzel, Smitty, and numerous artists there. Over the course of his career, he had managed several other shops in the Seattle area and Ink Illusions Tattoo is his latest creation.

She's only been tattooing for 2 years and it is very evident that she has a very bright & fruitful future ahead of her! At no point during our time did I feel awkward or uncomfortable (which I tend to feel sometimes in social situations). I've been very skeptical about getting a lady's face on my body since I've seen many botched faces but Hannah gave me the prettiest & cutest face I could've asked for! I've also seen plenty of botched American traditional eagle pieces and to say she NAILED IT is simply an understatement. My husband & I were both done in 4 hours and the price was extremely fair. We have already determined that we will be returning to her for our upcoming anniversary tattoos. Also, after the tattoo, Hannah offered us hot compresses. I've gotten tattooed at plenty of places in the past and have never had a hot compress. Let me tell you!!! The hot compress was life changing and felt like a nice warm hug on your tattoo. She informed us that it helped with the swelling & healing process and I can definitely tell a difference! I will never decline a hot compress moving forward haha. When we were there, we got to meet the other artist Andrew, who is also Hannah's mentor. He had great vibes & was a great conversationalist as well. We got to see his finished piece on someone else and it was DOPE! When we were done with our tattoos, she had Andrew look at both of them and received his seal of approval. If you have a chance to swing by Mammoth and get tattooed by either one of them, you will not regret it!

Two weeks later I wanted to get my septum pierced so I wanted to see Chuck again. They don't do that piercing. I saw Connor. He spent time marking my nostrils and telling me what was going to happen. Well, he pierced me and the piercing was crooked. The jewelry doesn't look right now. I asked what could be done he said after a week come back and get re-pierced. I am so frustrated and angry. The piercing, despite what most people say, really hurt. I guess I will go back and make them fix my nose but after these two experiences I can't recommend them and they'll never get any more business from me. Gotta take their free sticker off the car too.

The day of the tattoo, he screwed around for 45 minutes and when he went to place the tattoo, I told him that it was supposed to be bigger and he now tells me he can't do it bigger. I say fine, I've already waited for him to draw it out and have two smoke breaks. He then proceeds to complain during the entire tattoo about how he was doing such great work for so little price. For three hours he complained that I was basically short changing him on a price he agreed to beforehand. At the end off the three hours he informs me that my time was up even though he had not applied shading or details to make it look anything other than what a 6th grader could do. I'm pretty upset by this point. When I get to the register he tells the girl that I owe full price. When I remind him that I gave him the deposit, (she said he had not put it in the computer) he just said charge her the full price and walked off. Did not feel like getting stabbed so I just threw the money on the counter and left. What a thieving, unprofessional jerk. so beware.

Visited several tattoo parlors to find out pricing, all were pretty close in hourly rates. However! Some would talk badly about all the other parlors and that they were the ones that would be the best. LoL I decided to stop by "Ink Illusions" and spoke with the owner "Tony" and one of his tattooist "Ted" they both were very pleasant to talk with and put me at ease and understood what I wanted on my forearm. I repeat "what I wanted". I decided to have Ted be my artist. Honestly at first I was a bit weary for this was going to be a tattoo all would see. I have other tats that I'm not proud to show off but I just deal with it. You should never have to feel that way for something that is forever. This tattoo of my tiger is one of the best on my body. Ink illusions you all ROCK!! I can't wait to go back and have my dragon placed on my other forearm. Long story short, amazing service and excellent artwork. I came in with a friend over last weekend. I was trying to get one of my tattoos fixed and my friend wanted a small space needle. After calling about 3 or 4 shops near the Seattle area (no one took walk ins/ everyone was at the tattoo convention), we decided to look for a shop by where we live (Woodinville-Redmond) this one popped up with 5 stars. We gave Ted a call and he fit us right into his schedule. We had to wait for a short consultation that was scheduled in advance, but honesty it was no hassle because of the service, and you can look at the tattoos in the binders they have. Ted fixed my tattoo and I couldn't be happier with the finished product, and he gave me friend her Seattle Space Needle tattoo. They were both rad! Thank you so much Ted and Ink Illusions! Incredibly nice staff, laid back atmosphere, no pressure or intimidation. They're all super helpful and talented!! Amanda has done my last two pieces and I couldn't be happier with them. I was referred to ink illusions by all my friends, who were all of the sudden getting lots of tattoo's there. I walked in, nervous because I used to find tattoo artists intimidating, and found that the artists were actually really cool, I never felt like they were looking down at me. I especially liked the passion my artist there showed. Haven't had any work done by Ted or Amanda but Ive witnessed several pieces done by them and their work is great. Nate is the best! I went in only knowing which Bible verse I wanted (James 1.12) but didn't have much of an idea on the size of the font and the font type. Nate gave me great direction on some options that would be best, taking into account the quality of the tattoo over its lifetime. In about 20 minutes Nate collaborated with me as he put together the design and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. As I'm typing this up today I plan to contact him tomorrow for another.
