Angel goes above and beyond with all the tenants. he opens the door for you if you need help and even brought up a heavy box to my apartment since I am pregnant and it was too big for me to carry. Whatever you do, do NOT live here. The customer service is terrible, once you sign your lease the leasing office is not there to help you, and it is impossible to get out of a lease. We had a mouse in our unit on the 4th floor. Leasing office raised our rent and there was an issue with the auto payments which resulted in an outstanding balance of $50 one month. They sent us an eviction notice over this balance (which we didn't even know existed because they did not try to call us beforehand). Extremely noisy near the highway with the commuter rail. Pool will not open early in the year or stay open later in the year regardless of weather. Overall, terrible experience living here and would recommend doing everything in your power to avoid this building and this development community. read more

Renters beware. Lease at your own risk. Once you have signed your lease, the rental office is your adversary. Your rent will increase significantly each year. Ending your lease early is next to impossible. I was told, in writing, that (a) my lease may not be assigned under any circumstances, (b) my apartment may not be sublet under any circumstances, (c) in order to break my lease I owe 4 months' rent (2 months' notice plus a lump sum payment equal to 2 months' rent) and (d) these terms may not be amended or modified in good faith under any circumstances. My current rent is approximately $500 lower than what similar apartments in the same building are listed for and the rental office still will not work with me even though InkBlock stands to gain from ending my lease early and re-leasing my apartment. I have lived in Boston area for over 10 years and in that time I have rented in multiple apartment buildings, including apartments in other luxury buildings. I have never been treated worse by a landlord/leasing office than I have been by the leasing office at InkBlock. I would not recommend leasing an apartment here under any circumstances. read more

Here we go again! The last fire was one level above me, and only a few months later we've got another fire a level above that!! Imagine the deja vu I felt when, while traveling, i received the ominous voicemail asking to discuss the "unfortunate event" of the prior night. I've again been displaced with no compensation offered up front. Yes, that's right, two major fires that resulted in major leaks in my ceilings and walls in 8 months time. We're now officially 30 days after the fire and NOTHING has been done in my apartment. Occasionally I'll get nebulous emails about inspectors or repair folks that will be in my apartment the following day, but they never actually show up and nothing has changed. Communication is sporadic, opaque and confusing. I still have holes in my shower ceiling and the the molding at the base of my walls is ripped out with exposed holes in the drywall. So far, the only sign of action I have seen was the week following the fire when fans and dehumidifiers were plugged into my outlets (despite common outlets in the hallway) and despite asking, no concession was offered for an electric bill that skyrocketed to 3 x normal. The building is cursed and it's only made worse by a management group that's more concerned with keeping costs down than tenant satisfaction. read more

While Ink Block is marketed as a full-service "doorman" building, it is far from it. More often then not the front desk is empty leaving tenants to rummage through the package room trying to find their latest delivery, IF they even get an email notifying them of its arrival. Forget about food deliveries. With the front desk empty your food either gets left on the floor by the door with with no notification that it's even there or if you're lucky they'll call you to come down and get it yourself. I have given up on even attempting food delivery any more. There should be two people assigned to the front desk at all times so that they can take meals, bathroom breaks, and let guests up the elevator while still being able to attend to guests/tenants. And while we're talking about guests...you'll end up having to go down and let them in. Rarely is there someone there to buzz them in. Everyone is very nice but the service is severely lacking for the rent that they charge. read more

AMAZING location, super clean, incredible staff / concierge...... I've lived in Boston nearly 20 years now and this by far is my favorite place I have ever lived... living above the largest Whole Foods in in Massachusetts is an extra added plus. This area is booming out of this world... Many amazing restaurants have just opened within Ink block... Bar Mezzana... Fuji... Sweetgreen..... not to mention Turnstyle spin and a brand-new core power yoga over at Siena! Ink Block is super pet friendly if that is important to you as well. Another extra added plus it's just how clean the building is and how quiet the units are ... I have a one bedroom that looks out onto downtown Boston and overlooks the pool. The view is gorgeous. And Block does an amazing job keeping the windows (which are floor-to-ceiling large windows) clean. The entire building is always clean including the gym. I have a few friends who live in other luxury buildings around Boston and it's clear that Ink block used the best materials in building this place... Many of my friends are envious of the quality of the floors, fixtures, and appliances. The negative reviews here really confuse me- i've lived here since May 2015 and have never had a problem- it's been an amazingly peaceful and awesome urban living experience! Love it! read more

However, if there's ever a problem with your apartment, or the staff, or your neighbors, or the amenities (or your security deposit) it will very likely not got resolved to your satisfaction. My husband & I have lived here for a little over 2.5 years and have mostly really enjoyed it. I think there are some helpful things to know if you're deciding to live here: Pros: - The modern style of the apartment is really nice. The kitchen in our unit has a lot of storage, which is great if you like to cook! Big windows let in a lot of light. - Laundry in unit, which can be hard to find in Boston - The people who work at the front desk/office/or maintenance are WONDERFUL - really great people who are so friendly and helpful. - It's awesome to have a concierge to hold packages. - garage parking in the building (not free obviously) is awesome especially in the winter - Some nice amenities, including a pool (I only go on weekdays, though - in weekends, the pool is unbearably crowded - see below). - Living above Whole Foods? As AMAZING as it sounds! And there are some other great places in the building, too: Capital One/Peet's Coffee, Fuji (sushi), Sweetgreens, etc. - Overall, the neighborhood is great and accessible to a lot. You're a quick walk to SOWA, tons of parks, Chinatown, etc. If you work in the Financial District you can walk to work in 20 minutes. The Tufts Medical Center Orange Line T stop is less than a 10 minute walk. Tremont Street in the South End is less than a 10 minute walk. Cons: - This is not a quiet place to live (which is the primary reason we're relocating; we have a young child and he is constantly woken up by the noise). On two sides of the building you have highways right below and on two sides are major construction projects that are really loud. Add in the fact that there are several young tenants who party (see below) and many people have dogs here that regularly bark and it can be quite loud. (We got a new neighbor a few weeks ago and their large dog barks at all hours of the night). There's also random other noise, like inexplicably loud hammering at 3am. You can always report this to the concierge but there's often little they can do unless they can find the source (though, again, they're wonderful!) - Understandably, but worth noting, rent is not cheap here. It's market rent (see below) so depending on the unit and when you move in and the length of your lease, your rent will vary. Good to know: - The crowd here seems to lean young, or at least seems to party young. For example: in the summer, the pool is overrun by people and their guests (while you're only supposed to have 2 guests, it doesn't seem enforced), and largely feels like a frat party. Similarly, I've seen tenants who party in the hallways (e.g., I saw a group that was drunkenly hoverboarding down the hallway while screaming and laughing for hours) or who generally don't take care of the place (e.g., just leaving piles of garbage in the room w/ the trash chute). Mostly, this hasn't bothered us other than the noise. But I think it's good to know :) - I think if you don't understand or don't want to live in a place with market rent, the seemingly random nature of how rent is determined can be frustrating. I.e., it's not going to be like you can really negotiate w/ the people who work in the office downstairs, as the rent is set by a national company. My husband and I decided to change units at the end of our first lease because there was an identical apartment available for a lot less. We know 5 other tenants here and 4 of them moved to a different unit at some point in their living here to get cheaper rent. That could be a pro or a con, depending on what's available/if you're okay moving halfway through living here/if you'd rather pay a possible increase in rent just to stay in your apartment. Ink Block is nice and shiny on the outside, but after living here for several months I am extremely Disappointed with the experience. My washer and dryer are constantly broken, the air filter wasn't replaced for months inducing terrible allergies, the tile in the bathroom is always dirty no matter how much bleach you use. Location is fantastic and there's a whole foods downstairs, but not worth the constant headaches with leasing and maintenance. We moved into Ink Block around a year ago and have been so pleased with our time here. We worked with Rebekah from the leasing office to schedule our initial visit and then again to finalize our lease. She was honest, professional, and so welcoming! We had visited 3-4 other apartment complexes around South End and our interaction with her, as well as Ink Block's facilities and location, made the decision incredibly easy for us to commit to Ink Block. In regards to location, Ink Block is less than a 10 minute walk to Tufts Medical Center, a few minutes from Chinatown, and is located beside/on top of Whole Foods! We barely had to drive/lyft anywhere because walking was so easy and safe. The apartment we stayed in was BEAUTIFUL. So much natural night - we barely turned on any lights during the daytime. It's very clean and modern, with one of the most amazing views of Boston we have ever seen. We've seen the new management take a much more proactive role in creating a community vibe in the building. There are always fun social events/activities at Ink Block going on every month! My husband and I are pretty busy with work/studies, but it's always interesting for us to read about all of the cool things happening in the community every week. Perhaps the biggest thing that made a difference for us were the staff at Ink Block. Deshawn at concierge always greeted us at the front door with a warm smile and kept up with our lives as well. He is incredibly hard working, sweet, and friendly. Literally everyone at concierge was like that! Living in Boston can sometimes be overwhelming, but the folks at Ink Block truly made us feel like we were with family. My wife, dog, and I lived at Ink 3 from July 2019 through November of 2020.  We have nothing but strong reviews for the Ink Block complex and Ink 3, with little to complain about even through a very difficult operating period amidst COVID.  As we were new to Boston, this was an ideal spot for us given ease of access to highways, access to grocery/pharmacy, amenities, and a good spot within walking distance of south end's restaurants and stores.  Devin and Rebekah in the leasing team are trustworthy and always helpful.  Detail of the pros, cons, and addressed other review comments below: Reason for move-out: We wanted more space as we were expecting.  Ink made a great offer for renewal but we opted for the space. Pros: -Maintenance:  The team was phenomenal, always responded quickly to any issues that came up with a sunny disposition.  Super friendly and committed to solving the issue.  A+. -Amenities: Pre-COVID the amenity package was fantastic.  The Ink 3 gym was used very sparingly, so never really any trouble with overcrowdedness. Peloton bikes and treadmills were an awesome addition.  You can easily walk to Ink 1 and use the nicer gym (better light) if preferred.  Post-COVID, the reservation system made things somewhat complicated with booking windows and timing, but that's the world we live in, not ink blocks fault.  The grills on Ink 3 were very useful and always worked great.  Residents took pretty good care of them so not much cleaning was necessary before cooking.  We used the dog wash a few times, worked great.  We never really used the Ink 1 pool as we missed the season the first time around, and then COVID hit for the other season, so I can't speak to dynamics there. -Leasing team: Largely a pleasure to work with.  Fairly responsive and quick to attend to any needs.  I probably overstayed my welcome through emails, but they never were rude or dismissive. -Concierge: We cycled through a few Ink 3 concierge members, but Michelle (since left), Austin (weekdays, still there as of November) and Celeste (weekends, still there as of November) were always super kind to us and friendly. -Mail service: No issues with the amazon lockers.  It's a bit of pain if you order anything large, as it's usually stored at Ink 1 and you have to carry it over, but sometimes they do bring it over anyway. -HVAC: Worked consistently and easy to use.  Nests are nice, but we have found that Ink's HVAC was fairly quiet (we're pretty good sleepers anyway), and was good at keying into the temperature desired. -Parking: No issues with the garage and our spot was clutch (right near the entry way).  Kudos to the ink team for hooking us up.  The Ink Underground is a great cost saving option if you use the reverse commuter subscription. -Water filter: Built in fridge water filter!  We will miss that dearly. -Elevators: Largely open for Ink 3, though we did have one off-line for a long spell during COVID.  They mentioned that getting licensed to fix the elevator was difficult, but it was back up and running before too long.  Just that one incident. -Dog walks:  Our dog got more friendly with the two dog walks below the Whole Foods parking lot and always enjoyed going to ink underground, even though its rocky terrain isn't exactly ideal and slightly a longer walk to get to.  I wouldn't necessarily say this was a pro, because it would be great if they had some turf space to run around in. -Neighbors: Everyone we met was extremely friendly and we made some great life long friends at this place.  Never ran into someone we truly had issues with at Ink 3.  Most people are in the mid 20s to early 30s, but we also met some nice empty-nesters who were outgoing and nice to talk to. Cons: -COVID amenity reservation system: Will give them the benefit of the doubt for trying to keep up with COVID protocols, but the reservation system for amenities was brutal.  Many requests were never logged, and the 24-hours-in-advance system is not good for the spontaneous grilling or amenity use. -Ink 3 Concierge availability: The hours are fairly limited.  No one is there before 10am and after 7pm typically on weekdays, though the weekend coverage is better in the later hours. Other reviews: -Noisy: We never had any issues with noise at Ink 3.  We didn't have a child during our experience, so can't comment there. -Hot: HVAC never an issue. -Washer/Dryer issues: No issues - just don't overload your system or use an exorbitant amount of detergent. -Gym equipment issues: never any problems. -Fires: We had a fire in the sweetgreen below us.  They properly took care of it but no sprinklers were set off in the building.  Fortunately no issues here with that. -Affordability: Its a higher price point but if you want to live in south end, have a dog, elevator access, want easy grocery access, pharmacy access, good restaurants etc. there's really no better option than Ink and 345. -Management: They don't enjoy turning anyone down - if your request is reasonable, t read more

My wife and I have lived here for the past year, and we will absolutely miss Ink Block so much when we leave. The location is incredible. Not having to even go outside to get groceries from Whole Foods (esp. during the dead of winter) was game changing. On top of that, being so close to all that Chinatown/Downtown has to offer as well as the SoWa outdoor market, we always felt like there was something to do within minutes of leaving the apartment. The location is also prime for anyone working/studying at Tufts or BUMC. However, one of the biggest plus points of Ink Block was the hospitality and professionalism of the leasing office and concierge. Rebekah in leasing did an amazing job working with us, and Deshawn at the concierge desk became one of our best friends in the building. Having a concierge present 24 hours was also so nice in terms of security and safety. Any issues we had were promptly solved by the building staff. I've lived here for almost a year and I LOVE it. It's unreal how many amenities one location could have- literally anything you'd ever need. The pool was lovely this summer and they have fun community events all the time. Multiple gyms, classes and opening new stuff in the buildings all the time. Generally my experience at ink block has been ok but for the last 6 months a piece of equipment in the gym has not functioned and I have alerted them to this fact via the maintenance portal. Each time I received notification that it was repaired and that has not been the case. I have sent notes 3-4 times and I think one time it worked for about a week. That was the best response Most times it did not work at all I have offered suggestions on replacements that are better suited but, no response. It sits there unplugged because people get sick of trying to use it to no avail. For the monthly rents this should not happen. Poor service.... read more

I've lived at Ink Block for almost five years; I was among the first to move in here. I could hardly be happier. My studio apartment is comfortable and convenient. The amenities are quite nice and the staff is friendly, competent and responsive. I've had a few minor issues with some of the appliances, and Steve and Garrett have always been prompt,competent, helpful and friendly. Indeed the entire staff are wonderful. The common areas and gym are well appointed, clean and well maintained. Mostly I'm not bothered by the noise from outside; if the windows are closed it's barely noticeable. It is a completely smoke free property, and the one time I complained about someone smoking marijuana the problem was immediately taken care of. And yes, I've had a couple of heavy footed upstairs neighbors (city living). Whole Foods Market downstairs is like having the biggest pantry in the world! Grocery shopping in slippers, even in foul weather! The location is perfect for a non-driver: easy, safe walking to downtown, Chinatown, South End, Back Bay, Southie, etc. as well as nearby public transportation. I first moved to the South End 46 years ago, so I've seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood. Back then this area was a gritty wasteland (I must admit I miss some of the edginess, creativity and deep, diverse roots). The thriving businesses and trendy innovations are amazing. Minor quibbles: Yes, the pool/barbecue is often crowded on weekends and summer evenings with a lot of young families; I just avoid that. There are a lot of dogs and not all masters/dog walkers are good about handling these animals. Oh well. Not everyone loves dogs. I don't. The demographic does run young, and some of them seem quite entitled. (Maybe that explains some of the negative reviews, which frankly baffle me; I've never had a complaint that wasn't perfectly addressed). It's probably good discipline for my curmudgeon issues. I guess I'd sum up by saying Ink Block is great for people who are comfortable with urban living; probably less so for suburbanites. read more

I've been living at Ink Block for 3 months now and it has been great! All of the concierge are very friendly and the leasing/management staff are professional and responsive. The move in process was smooth thanks to Rebekah and the property manager Michael. I put in a maintenance request and it was taken care of immediately. Amenities are awesome - grill area, pool, gym, etc. Everything is kept clean. It has been a nice quiet place to live with lots of areas to do work/study. Another perk is the community events that they hold through the Cobu app (pool party, wine tasting, comedy show). Location is central to everything and an easy walk to South End, Financial District, Back Bay, Southie and walkable to multiple T lines. The BEST thing is having an elevator that takes you right down to Whole Foods and I am sure it will be even more useful in the winter time. Very happy with Ink Block and highly recommend! read more

I've lived at Ink Block the past 7 months and have had an overall positive experience. Here's my list of pros and cons Pros 1. Location is great to get to different points around the city. If you work anywhere downtown, you are not a far walk. I walk to the financial district in 20-25 minutes and I honestly never get tired of it. You're also 1 block from the Silverline that runs up and down Washington Street and an 8 minute walk to the Orange Line. Also, I haven't personally done this, but you can cross the bridge to South Boston and catch the Red Line. 2. Apartments - I live in a studio in Ink 2 and love my apartment. It's 590 sf which is large for a studio and the layout is nice where I don't see my kitchen or bathroom from my bed (this was big for me). I hated the idea of living in a large room, but my apartment is laid out nicely where I don't always feel like I'm in the same room. 3. Amenities - 2 gyms in the complex, amenity spaces, pool, grills, attentive concierge, leasing office staff, cleanliness! They keep this place clean, I see a cleaning person in the halls almost everyday which is awesome. When you're in a complex with this many people, things can get dirty and worn very fast, the management company here keeps on top of things 4. Community tenants - Whole Foods, Turnstyle, Bar Mezzana, Peets, Lion's Tail, Sweet Green. This is fast becoming a place to hang out all day. I sometimes don't leave the complex all weekend, there is so much to do. Cons 1. the obvious- price. I pay the same for my studio as some people pay for their 2 bedrooms in Southie or the South End. It's definitely a markup for living in a fully amenitized space. However, I believe I rented at the peak when there was little vacancy . If you rent at the right time of year, you can probably get a "deal." Rents change frequently with the market and rent rolls in the building. 2. $350 extra for parking - again, this is steep, but with such limited resident parking in the area, I can see why people will pay this premium. 3. Lack of green space for dogs - this is a new place and a Fast evolving neighborhood, but I wish there were more areas for my dog to run around. There are pet areas, but they certainly aren't dog parks. My dog refuses to go in them most of the time. Fortunately there is Peter's Park about an 8 min walk away. Not a huge con, and they are supposedly constructing a dog park under the expressway. 4. Some inconsiderate tenants - there is a mix of people living here, but there are certain tenants that don't bother to put their trash in the trash chute and just leave it in the trash room for someone else to take care of. I wish they would enforce fines for these people, it really is so selfish to do this. In fairness, I can't count how many times I've walked to the trash chute to find it malfunctioning or clogged and then having to turn around back to my apartment with my trash. Again, not a huge deal, but if you're paying a premium for a trash chute, I wish it worked more than 50% of the time. 5. Pool Deck Guests - this one gets to me. During the week (when the pool is empty), the lifeguard strictly enforces the guest policy for visitors, so you can't have more than 2 guests per unit (resident?). I had 3 one day on an empty Wednesday and wasn't allowed to hang out there. On the weekends, it's a free for all and the pool deck is one massive party with presumably mostly visitors. They do not enforce the sign in book and I've gone out alone just to lay out and cannot find a spot to sit, let alone lay out. If you're not going to enforce it on the weekend, don't enforce it during the week when it's actually empty. Overall, I have not been bothered by noise that other tenants have complained about. I don't really hear it and I think that my apartment faces the inside courtyard helps. read more

Not usually a Yelp reviewer, but I just hit the one-year mark at Ink Block so I thought I would leave a review! Long story short, I love it here! If you want no frills city-living where you don't need to worry about anything, Ink Block is a great choice. I moved back here for a job change and wasn't sure where I wanted to live, but I knew I wanted a full-service building in the city. After a friend told me about Ink Block, I took a tour and haven't looked back! The is a building where everything is taken care of! I don't have to live a finger and my apartment looked brand new when I moved in. The complex around the Ink Block is growing like a crazy. There has been a whole foods and a coffeehouse downstairs for the last year, and recently a spin studio and two restaurants have also opened downstairs. I believe there is still a Yoga studio, sweetgreen, and yoga studio coming as well. There is a beautiful full-service roof deck pool with grills and games, the building is super pet-friendly (I don't have one but I like the option), and the complex is walkable to Chinatown, the Financial District, and the Back Bay. The neighborhood around here is continuing to grow, so I would recommend Ink Block to anyone. read more

For the rent you pay, you think they would have made things a lot nicer. They cut a lot of corners during construction and you won't really notice until you move in. But, once you do notice, you won't be able to ignore it. The walls/floors are thin. I can hear my upstairs neighbor walking all the time and I can hear full on conversations that my neighbors are having as I walk by their doors. The carpet in the bedroom is cheap and hideous. The tile in the bathroom is also cheap and impossible to clean. The pass that they give you to swipe to get into your apartment and around the building rarely ever works on the first attempt. The door to the Whole Foods (the one that they will proudly tell you gives you direct access to the store so you don't have to go outside in the cold) only works about 50% of the time. Management is very slow to respond, if they respond at all, to complaints. I had an issue and the property manager promised me a lot of solutions (one of which was letting me out of my lease). She was supposed to call me back, but never did. On top of that, when I requested to speak with her several more times, she never got back to me. I eventually just gave up. The only thing pet friendly about this place is the fact that they will allow your pet to live there for a ridiculously large pet fee. Your pet is not allowed anywhere except your apartment and inconveniently located dog parks. The real issue with the dog park is that the two parks that do exist are very isolated. It does not feel safe to take my dog out there at night. Moreover, in the original lease that I signed, it clearly states that there was supposed to be an area to take my dog to the bathroom in the Ink 2 building. No such area exists. They finally put something in the garage, but you have to walk your pet through garage traffic to get to the room. Moreover, the room is simply a cement floor with a drain in it!! Overall, I am very disappointed with the service and the quality. Most of the people that I know in building are not intending on renewing their lease. read more

Apartment itself is nice besides the bathroom tiles (got dirty real quick, can't ever get it to be as white as they once were). But bathroom(and walk-in closet) is very spacious so I do like that. Concierge is awesome, especially when it comes to getting packages (you can pick them up anytime! And i buy a lot of things online so that is so convenient). Location is great since it's a 10-12 min walk from chinatown & downtown. My main complaint is I've had a few problems during my first few months of living here: toilet, bathroom sink, and shower flooded at midnight the first month I moved in (due to Whole Foods flooding. Lucky me I live right above their bathroom ). They came to install a new toilet and pump out the water but I ended up calling out the next day because I had no sleep AND it was a new job so that did not look good (Steve did let me stay in one of the model studios so that was nice of him). Anyways, there was also a constant squeaking that no one could help me with until I figured out it wasn't upstairs but downstairs (Whole Foods again. There were two pipes that would move and chafe each other EVERY time someone flushed one of the toilets. I noticed when I ate down there once). Eventually that was fixed. :) My main problem now? I can hear my upstairs neighbor walk. I don't mean normal tapping noises you are bound to hear in apartment complexes. No. It's super loud, annoying SQUEAKING and this/these neighbor(s) are constantly walking, as early as 8AM and that noise does NOT go away until 1:30AM sometimes. I know b/c it keeps me up and I've taken clips of the noise. When I put it a work order, Steve sadly couldn't help me since it's not a maintenance problem. It must be the foundation b/c I only hear the noise right above the living room/bedroom area not the kitchen or bathroom. And this place is new?! Maybe I got unlucky and chose the wrong unit. I was told to contact the concierge but what is that going to do? I can't prevent the neighbors from walking jt's not their fault the floor is so squeaky (although they can use a break especially past midnight). But to be fair, everything else is good: gym is nice and clean, the deck is beautiful, there's a lot of common rooms with TVs, and the extra bathrooms throughout the building is convenient (no need to drag guests back to my apt bathroom). And the building is pet friendly which is great when my puppy arrives! :D But the noise still irritates me and disrupts my sleep every night. -_- read more

We have lived at the Ink Block for 18 months and just re-signed another 18 month lease without hesitation. Their leasing & concierge staff are by far the most helpful & pleasant in Boston & beyond. It would be hard to find a more convenient living location than the Ink Block - we don't even have to go outside to go grocery shopping. There is a private elevator for residents that takes us into Whole Foods. We can take our pick from three top notch restaurants when we don't feel like walking or driving somewhere for dinner. You can be in a yoga, spin or bootcamp class within two minutes from the elevator banks. There is also a gym inside our building. We highly recommend living here & don't plan on leaving anytime soon. read more

Well so far my apartment hasn't caught fire, so that's a plus! I've lived here about 9 months now and have no real complaints. The staff has been amazing! They are incredibly friendly and make time to say Hi and ask you how you are. They are amazingly pet friendly. There are 2 "dog parks" on property. Yes, these are nothing more than big fenced in areas with gravel, but they are properly maintained and stocked with bags. Could you ask for more in the city??? And by this fall, the city will have completed the dog park underneath the overpass as another option to take your pup to. The convenience is incredible. I would recommend the place to anyone. With that said, there is intense construction going on right now. Crews are hammering giant concrete pillars into the ground. Is there anything I can do about it? nope. It'll end soon, and right now.. I have learned to tune it out. read more

I moved into ink block a little over a month ago with my boyfriend. We're loving it! The leasing agents were extremely helpful and easy to work with, walking us through many apartments before we made a final decision. Once the lease was signed the move-in process was seamless. The apartments themselves are great, very large bathrooms with lots of storage, huge walk in closet and updated kitchen! We're in a studio and there is plenty of room for 2. Coming from a very old building in Beacon Hill has made living in a brand new apartment that much more amazing! Everyone that works at ink block is extremely friendly and helpful, the maintenance staff in particular has been great - they reply to requests very quickly and get everything done in a timely manner. The gym has everything you could need including a studio next door you can play work-out videos or have a personal trainer come in. The common areas are great, already booked one for a birthday party in the spring. Looking forward to the arrival of summer and use of the pool and outdoor space! read more

I leased a one bedroom unit at the Ink Block about a month ago (I was one of the first to move in) and could not be happier with my decision. I've lived in and around Boston for a number of years and the Ink Block's finishes and amenities are second to none. The windows are HUGE and give me a gorgeous view of Boston no matter where I am in my 3rd floor unit. I'm no chef but do enjoy cooking and having Whole Foods downstairs is a game changer, especially in Boston where grocery shopping can be a nightmare. The gym has top-of-the-line equipment (though I don't venture much outside the treadmill and weights). And I'm certainly looking forward to the pool opening this summer! Jessica and her team were a incredible to work with, let me choose my unit and made moving as easy as it could've been through this tough winter we had in Boston - and they had a move-in gift waiting for me! Despite still being a work in progress, the team has done a great job of insulating us early move-ins from the noise and mess of the exterior work. I work in the financial district and the commute is a breeze - 10 minutes walk door-to-door. Would totally recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy city living. read more

With the brand new Whole Foods on the first floor, outdoor pool right above it and its walking distance to all major parts of the city, what is it not to like about Ink Block? Amenities are state of the art: ultra-friendly concierge service, dry cleaning, super clean gym, yoga studio and common areas. The main entrance lobby is impressive. Despite its proximity to major highways, which most residents find very convenient, the noise level impact from highways is minimal, almost negligible. Pricing of the units is competitive. Given all amenities and heat, which is included (a big plus for Boston's long and dreadful winters), the pricing fairs well with other luxury properties in downtown area. Overall, I highly recommend ink block for hard-working, busy professionals whose time is invaluable asset. Well done, team Ink Block! read more

I moved to the Ink Block a few months ago and have loved it!! I've lived in doorman buildings in the past and this is my favorite by far. The amenities are new and everything is energy efficient. In my unit, the shower has awesome pressure, the in-unit wash makes laundry 100x easier, the electric stove tops are easy to use, and the flooring is beautiful. The team at Ink Block is great, too. If I need something fixed they come the same day and it's done by the time I return. Overall they work very hard to foster a sense of community and make it a personal experience living here. read more

The day I moved into InkBlock I informed the management that my central air conditioning wasn't working. That was in the beginning of July.. I was told by managment to close all my shaded and keep the apartment dark during the day while keeping my a/c at 68 degrees. So now I'm living in a basement apartment not the 6th floor. Big waste of electricity because the interior temperature never reaches below 77during the day. Management tried to pass it off that 'with all the glass windows you just can't cool the interior in the summer". What I'm I a dumbbell? Do they really expect anybody to believe that all buildings with large windows can't regulate a cooling system in the heat of the summer. Reality....cheap a/c units and cheaper windows. Management continues to tell me that they are working on it but won't have anything done for a few more weeks. Great, summer will be over and it's no longer their problem. My advise to anybody considering living at InkBlock..don't. You will find it to be a huge dissapointment on so many levels. read more

I love Ink Block. I will have lived at Ink Block for 1 year on September 10th and I have to say it has been a great experience! The ladies at the Leasing Office were very helpful to guide me during my move in process. They always say hi whenever my dog and I see them on site. The Concierge are very friendly. I must confess that I do have my favorite weeknight and weekend people. I love all the Resident Events Ink Block has that allows you to meet your neighbors and enjoy food and drinks. I also love Yappy Hour sponsored by Baroo each month. My dog and I can meet other owners with dogs and chat and enjoy drinks and snacks. Besides Whole Foods, there is Fuji@ Ink Block (sushi), Bar Mezanna, and soon to be opening Sweet Green. I've looked at other apartments in the area and I fell in love with the apartment layout and design. Ink 1, 2 ,and 3 all have their own unique design. When I was given the tour of the apartment at Ink 1, I immediately knew this was the place I wanted to live. Very modern, clean lines, great view of downtown, and awesome walk through closet from bedroom to bathroom. Other things like heat being included, outside pool and grill area, underground parking, and numerous doggie relief areas only makes living at Ink Block more enjoyable. read more

the construction going on around the building makes living here basically uninhabitable unless you have a job that keeps you from 7am-7pm. For the small group of us living here that aren't working professionals with conventional hours, it is really brutal. Really regret moving here. read more
