He really goes out of the way to answer my queries and assist in my requests. Concierge and maintenance staff also very friendly and helpful. Will never forget Kyle and his amazing smile. Common facilities as well as facilities within the apartment are very new and well maintained. Gym is very well-equipped. Love the courtyard where the kids can play and run around. The management also organized many events to allow the occupants to mingle and enjoy. Nothing but full of praises for the hardworking staff and management team. Have been recommending to my friends who plan to stay at Cambridge to seriously consider 3rd Square.

It's hard to beat Third Square's location. And generally speaking it's a decent living experience…read more My issue with Third Square is they are demonstrably dishonest. Over the span of 5 months, Sep '22 to Feb '23, Third Square raised our lease offer by $1,000 (25%). They insisted this was reflective of the market and was fair. They even told me that the demand in March was simply higher than the demand in September, and that this was a big part of the reason for the increase (come again? Sep 1st is commonly known as the biggest move-in date of the year with 10's of thousands of students moving back to the area). As an aside- On a previous occasion when they raised our rent 14% they told me they were constantly monitoring the neighboring apartment complexes... so any prices they set were in alignment with the competition and were, again, fair and honest. Back to Feb '23- Because there were other apartments in the building for less than the new lease offered, we moved into one of those. They then posted our apartment 4 days after moving out for $900 less than the lease they had tried to push us into. $900 less than what they had stated was the true and fair market value. And hundreds of dollars less than the new apartment we just moved into. They flexed us out of our home with dishonesty, and when we didn't give into their attempts to manipulate, they put the apartment on the market for the true market value- which they now couldn't fake. I find this to be extremely offensive. Forcing us to move (with a 1 year old in tow, making everything much more difficult) after having been at Third Square for 2.5 years and never having made a late payment, all they cared about was squeezing us to see what they could force us into. I'd compare their practices to that of Comcast- zero interest in customer care and strict attention on revenue, all at the expense of their reputation. When dealing with Third Square, do so with skepticism and an aggressive business mind. You are not a valued customer, you are a revenue source interchangeable with any other revenue source. If you have experienced something similar at Third Square, or any other complex, I would urge you share your experiences with the Cambridge Consumer Council or to go directly to the Attorney General's website where you can file official complaints against an entity like an apartment complex. I'll lastly add that the personnel on site at Third Square are enjoyable and kind. For the most part they come from the area, they do their jobs well, and they even recognize the poor business practices of their employer. Re Third Square's reply- The response below is not for me at all, it's for the broader Yelp audience and meant to communicate to the Yelp audience that Third Square is not dishonest and manipulative, but is in fact engaged and caring- "notice how we're replying to Yelp complaints. We care." It's PR. However, it ignores the facts of the experience and glosses over the details that reveal an intention to manipulate clientele. Additionally, saying things like "may have impacted" or "may have caused you" when it's completely obvious that is has is patronizing and insulting.

Ultimately our high ceilings and natural light sealed the deal. After moving in, the leasing office has treated us like family. When we need packages sent off but don't feel comfortable leaving them outside of the package room, they're there to help. When we have questions about our lease, we just walk into their office. Last week, I swung by to talk to Tim and Svetlana about options for renewing or lease. They both sat down with me for twenty minutes to discuss our options. The community here is great, and the leasing office makes us feel like a family. Thank you guys!

It's been about a month since I moved out (nothing to do with them or the area) and I miss them.. A LOT. The apartment was in very good shape, things that needed maintenance (laundry machines, etc) never went over a week without repair.. and everyone that I've chatted with at Laverty has been great. In fact, when they were painting or doing work they made sure to get in contact with my 2 other roommates and our house phone (not that it's a person...) before stepping foot into our apartment. And I know this is probably a law or something, but I didn't experience that with my other apartments in Boston. On top of the fact that they maintained the front areas well. They made sure the landscaping and walkway were always under control and groomed. If you ever see an apartment being rented out by Laverty.. JUMP ON THAT SHIZ!

The building itself, how it was when I moved in a year ago, would get five stars. However,…read moreBlackstone has frozen all investments in order to prioritize profits over building maintenance and this place is a dumpster fire! Maintenance issues started in August of 2025 and they have continued to pile on with no end in sight. It began with fire alarms going off because they had hit their expiration date and needed to be changed. The solution was to tell us to rip them out of the ceiling. They still have not been replaced. For months, alarms were going off continuously - day and night. They say we don't need those fire alarms, but the wires continue to hang from the ceiling all these months later. When I inquired about when the windows would be cleaned, I was told the hooks on the roof needed to be replaced for safety. That was two months ago and nothing has happened. So, the great view that I'm paying for sits beyond a dirty window. In a cost-cutting effort, they eliminated the package handler position and now expect the concierges to do their job plus sort through packages for 528 units. The good ones do, but sometimes they pile up in the back hallway until shift changes. Many times, I've had to sort through bins to find something that was delivered hours earlier. A building this size either needs to get the delivery services to put packages in the correct floor's shelf or hire another package handler. The latest issue started last December, when there was a fire in the trash chute, which caused electrical failure in the first 12 floors. Once that was resolved, their solution was to put trash cans on each floor and pile the responsibility of collecting trash on top of the regular duties of our wonderful janitorial staff. Two months later, their solution is to deliver unsightly trash bins to each apartment, demanding that we bring them in by 9 am and put them out between 6-7 pm each day. Now, we live with trash piled up in the hallways and rats reported as high as the 12th floor, which I never heard of before. And, lately, they've been raising rents as much as 10% because profits are king. So, if you're looking for a great community, I'm sad to say, keep looking.
