This is by far the best bagel spot we've ever eaten at. We usually order uber eats, but we decided to stop in. Make sure you order online, they don't answer their phone on the weekends as they are too busy. There was a line out the door, so we're glad we ordered ahead of time. We usually get the #5 the Putz on a double jalapeño cheddar bagel, the everything bagel with sundried tomato basil cream cheese, and a poppy seed bagel with a random cream cheese. The flavors are incredible. I think the prices are right for the quality that they provide. The service is good. Just make sure to order ahead online, otherwise you'll be waiting 20-30 mins for food. Inglorious has taken over the spot of Sun Flour Bagels, which was run for years by a Japanese immigrant couple using the traditional process (Boil then Bake) and turning out authentic New York bagels (I grew up eating bagels in Brooklyn!) When I called the new owners, and they said they also boiled their bagels, I looked forward to continued delicious bagel eating from Inglorius. 'Fraid not! Whether they got a bogus recipe or they actually don't boil the bagels, what they turn out is more like the bready chain-style Einstein/,Noah's/Garden State bagels--thick, not thin crispy crust and airy, not dense on the inside. An Inglorius bagel although the same size as the authentic bagels I've been getting, since Sun Flour closed, from Love Bagels up near Oceanside, weigh a third less. So barring a change in Inglorious' technique, I'll continue making the haul up to I Love Bagels for my authentic New York bagel fix. read more

So I start by saying wow delicious soft fluffy bagels. I tried this place a while back and was disappointed because the bagels were hard. I decided to give it another try a couple of weeks ago and I was shocked how great it was. Then i went and picked up a dozen today and wow. So delicious and soft. I'm not sure if they changed things recipe wise but it's fantastic now. I hope it stays this way because I'm hooked now! Oh and the garden veggie cream cheese delicious. I'm a big fan of Inglourious Bagels. The first thing I like is that the bagels just taste good. There are some bad bagel places around here .. perhaps I'm a bagel snob :D. I really like the flavor and freshness of the bagels and cream cheese. Secondly, they have a lot of spread options and good coffee. This saves me extra trips and I like having stuff like nutella and more exotic spreads. Lastly, I'd say this place is truely local. The people who work there and own the place are good locals and you can tell it's not a big corporate-run thing. Now, the place is new and it's a 'soft open'. I've seen some negative reviews here with people saying "they're out of this" or they make mistakes or whatever. Those things are true, but they're true because this is a real local business and the owners/workers are trying to figure it out. Support your local business and get the best-tasting bagels in the area. And be cool during the soft open people, running this business can't be easy. So happy Inglourious Bagels is here. read more

Walked over with a friend during lunch for a bagel sandwich. We'd been wanting to try now that they've opened in La Costa! Unfortunately the experience was not so great. We got there around 11:50 and they were sold out of almost all bagels. They had a few garlic left so I ordered a sandwich on a garlic bagel with no aioli. The gal taking our order was fine. She seemed young so maybe this is her first customer service job? Got my sandwich and it was full of aioli. I went back inside and was going to order just a bagel with cream cheese (and pay for it - I don't tend to ask for refunds or complain to staff), but they were out of everything except chocolate chip bagels by that time. Huge bummer. The gal at the register offered a refund which was nice. The owner or manager came over to help her but he didn't even say hi/sorry/what's the issue. Just refunded and was on his way. Hoping that maybe these are just kinks to be ironed out? Will try again and update soon! read more

Some of the best bagels in North County, and it was great to find a decent bialy. Bought a dozen assorted and all were enjoyed by the family over a couple of days. However, the smoked whitefish salad was a major disappointment. The whitefish had not even a hint of smoke taste, with a couple of family members commented that it might as well have been tuna fish. I really wanted to love this place and I had a great experience when I visited but unfortunately the food itself was a bit of a letdown and the prices were just too steep. I was there when it was still just a soft opening so they were unable to offer several of the sandwiches unfortunately that were listed on the board. I really appreciated the friendly service and free samples that were offered. The whitefish salad was actually super tasty and the gravalox was interesting but not my thing (regular lox for this gal please). If you love New York style bagels, this is your spot! The everything bagels are so delicious! My favorite is the bialys!! If you've never had one, try one. I've given them to a few friends who say it's ruined them on bagels forever! Toast them and just put butter on it. Sometimes I dip it in my coffee. We started coming here before the hard opening and were thrilled with the selection and quality of the offerings here , however like so many things that are too good to be true..it was. Now, even though the lines are impossibly long to order and wait time to actually receive your order will take up most of your lunch hour, after less than a year, Inglorious Bagels and the owners responsible for the original great menu offerings and quality of ingredients, have chosen to ignore their patrons, in favor of what I can only imagine as a money grab: at the expense of quality or service, have cheapened everything they possibly could to make a heftier profit. The tuna salad no longer is classic and creamy, but salty dry and inedible, the raisin bagels are no longer filled with juicy raisins , but have been replaced with tiny "raisin specks", the lines at prime time are LONGER, the quality is appreciably LOWER, the staff is seemingly OVERWHELMED by every order. Basically, Inglorious Bagels is unworthy of further patronage. In a world filled with mediocracy, crappy service and inedible food, Inglorious Bagels was once a shining example of quality and innovation. NOT ANY MORE. Pass this one by..... I came here this morning (2/6) around 10am and the man at the counter (longer dark hair, lighter eyes) was so nice and helpful. So rare to find these days. He didn't rush us, answered all our questions and made some killer bagels. I should have gotten his name, I hope you're able to track him down from this review!
