obviously going to the hospital is not fun but i went in may 14 and two ladies checked me in and…read morethey smelt really good and they were very sweet , as i was getting testing done a guy , nicholas came to blood test me and he was automatically a very sweet and funny guy . He was talking to the other nurses and was ready to work and everything . His energy is super high and he was just an amazing person !!

I was dismissed from your ER yesterday while in crisis…read more I peesented with a dental infection and mania. I was not treated for either. Last year I went septic with a dental infection and was in the ICU for four days. I spent a total of 16 days in the hospital. The pain is causing me to lose sleep, which feels like mania. I have bipolar disorder. If I have an extended session of mania, it leads to psychosis. I see a paychiatrist regularly and I actually saw her in the morning, but there is a paperwork issue and the meds she requested for me will not be filled to Tuesday. I know the ER is not a dentist or my psychiatrist, but I felt like I was in crisis so I went. I was hoping for antibiotics for the dental infection and maybe a bridge prescription of a couple of my psyxh meds to get me through until Tuesday. Instead I was summarily dismissed by Dr. Chad Kovala. "I'm not a dentist and your psychiatrist is treating you. I can't help you." It didn't matter that I went septic last year from the same issue. Apparently my inpatient psych history doesn't matter either. I was so distraught by his dismissal of me that I called the suicide helpline when I got to my car. I have the screenshot. I was on the phone with them for 30 minutes before I felt safe to drive home. I have never before been dismissed with such a smug and superior attitude. Yes, I know a dentist is the ultimate solution for my tooth issue and a psychiatrist needs to do long-term med adjustments but I was in CRISIS. My teeth are IN MY MOUTH AND THEY AFFECT MY HEALTH. I am terrified of ever utilizing your ER again. Hospitals are supposed to care for sick people. Period. You didn't. Do better.

I've been using MMP OB/GYN for several years (and through three pregnancies) and have been…read moredelighted with them. Dr. Takyi delivered my first, Dr. Herta my second, and I'm currently pregnant with No. 3. Dr. Herta is my primary OB, and I love her, but I've liked all of the OBs, NPs and the CNM that I've met there. The nurses are fantastic (one in particular always goes out of her way to aak about my kids), and the front desk staff has always been friendly and helpful. On the occasions when I've had a problem, someone has always gotten back to me right away. My current baby has given us a lot of worries, but whenever I've called in with a question or concern, they've gotten me in right away for a checkup (and ultrasound, if necessary). A good friend also went through a pregnancy with some unknowns (due to her own health issues) with Dr. Herta and was very happy with her. MMP OB/GYN is definitely known around town as one of the more natural childbirth-friendly practices. In the two deliveries I've had with them, there were minimal interventions (as per my request), and I felt like both were fantastic experiences. My only complaint about the practice is that it can be a little difficult to get in, particularly to see Dr. Herta, of you aren't pregnant or having a major problem, or if you're a new patient.

My husband and I made MMP our primary care provider when we first moved to Lansing, because they…read moreaccepted our insurance and had a location close to our home. I really wish that we had shopped around more. We've both seen several different doctors, because it can be difficult to make an appointment with the doctor they assigned as our primary care physician. After initially seeing him for my physical, I returned two weeks later for a pap smear and he didn't remember me. With a few exceptions, the staff do not come across as friendly, and I usually feel like I'm inconveniencing them simply by being there for my appointments. When I've brought health concerns to the doctors I've seen, they have repeatedly dismissed or ignored my reports, sometimes allowing treatable conditions to worsen before they take them seriously enough to treat them. When my husband developed sciatica, he received no advice or treatment at all until his third visit to seek treatment. He was simply told to wait and see if it went away, despite the fact that it was causing him a great deal of pain. When he was finally referred to a physical therapist, his pain decreased drastically and he has been able to maintain the improvement at home. MMP has been singularly unhelpful compared to the various other doctors/facilities I've used in the past. We're moving soon, and I can't wait to shop for a doctor who'll actually be able to see me at appointments and who will actually treat me promptly if I'm sick or in pain.
