There is no way of knowing if the referral has been processed. In my case I have severe inflammation that has caused me to stop my volunteer work, my daily routines, and my public commitments. I know the physicians are not at fault but this should have been anticipated. There are no suitable excuses if you're in pain or have impending treatments for major medical issues delayed.

During my visit, she was rude when I asked for assistance for my uncle after a bowel movement, and it took about 45 minutes for him to be cleaned and cared for. Later, she yelled across the unit while I was walking away and made comments that felt unprofessional, especially in a critical care environment where my uncle is medically sedated to give his heart a break. When I returned to ask her name, she seemed dismissive and even preemptively said she expected a complaint. I am also an ICU nurse and understand the pressures of a critical care unit, but this behavior did not reflect the compassionate and professional environment I expect from McLaren. I hope the hospital reviews this to ensure family members feel respected and that the unit remains calm for critically ill patients.

I understand triage, but at that point, I had already waited longer than anyone should in an urgent care setting. To make matters worse, when I tried to cancel my appointment and leave, I could not get the attention of a single staff member. I waved, I stood up, I even tried calling from inside the waiting room--nothing. Their complete lack of communication and concern for their patients is appalling. This place is an absolute joke. If you actually need urgent care, go literally anywhere else. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

Took lots of time with me to listen and understand my problems, did X-rays, reviewed all my medical documentation, determined that the cause of my pain is the IM rod in my tibia, was able to give me a detailed and logical explanation for why he could not do surgery to remove the rod, and gave me suggestions for how to manage the pain given that surgery was not an option. Night and day experience. If you need an OS in Lansing, I highly recommend Dr. Waterbrook.
