I saw Dr. Brian Peterson at Infocus Eyecare in Ormond Beach. Not only did he give an excellent and thorough eye exam, he was a very pleasant and caring person. The optician side of the business was great, too. I want a specific style of frame (aviator with wrap-around temple piece) which are common anymore. They were able to source them and I had my new glasses in a week and half. I am not sure why there are some bad reviews from California. Perhaps they are reviewing a different company there with the name Eye Design Eyewear. The business in Ormond Beach Florida does not use that name anymore, and Yelp should adjust its site accordingly. read more

I'm a new patient here and Dr. Harbuck was great! My appointment was at 9AM and I was seen right away after filling out a few forms. The waiting area and exam room were modern and clean. The other staff members were also very friendly and welcoming too. They made it easy to get a new contact lens prescription and definitely recommend coming here! read more

I am really glad I tried EDE, they're friendly, punctual and great to do business with. I found a beautiful pair of frames and got contacts as well. The first set could be improved upon and I was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating they were when I called in to discuss. After a brief hold I was invited back in to pick up another strength to take home and try for a week. When I got there she actually gave me two additional strengths to try. A little friendliness sure goes a long way and alot is simply heaven! Who doesn't like feeling appreciated? I highly recommend them. read more

Nice staff, Not sure if Jodi still manages there anymore. This is an update on a 5 star review from last year. Spent 900.00 on a pair of mirrored,polarized, prescription sunglasses. A year later the mirror coating has fogged up and are useless. Took them back to show them and they said I should avoid prolonged time in the sun or heat. I have older mirrored glasses from Lenscrafters that still are clearer after 10 plus years ago. They offered me to replace lenses at half price but why bother if the same will happen. If you work outdoors, fish, hang at the beach, lifeguard I recommend going elsewhere for coated lenses obviously they need another vendor. read more

Was told two weeks, after two weeks called, told glasses were special order. Failure to communicate, was upsetting. After getting glasses, I noticed sore spot, wanted to get re adjustment, had to make appointment. Showed up for appointment, they took a walk in in front of my appointment. My husband and I made appointments for eye exams and new glasses. We thought the place looked nice when we arrived. We both had our eye exams and then went to see Christie for eyeglasses. We both chose frames that we liked and after a few measurements it was time to pay what our Medicare plan didn't. It was a lot but what can you do. We received a call about a week later informing us our glasses were ready. We both went in but I had an issue immediately with my right eye. I couldn't see out of the lens. The doctor wasn't there so they called in his son, who happens to be an eye doctor as well. He did another exam and changed the prescription, so I was asked to come back again. I received the call to go in to try out the second pair of glasses. Unfortunately, it was the same as the first. A third attempt produced the same problem. Christie asked me to take them home for the weekend and try to use them as much as possible. I went back on Monday with the glasses and explained as much as I tried, I couldn't see through the right lens. I spoke with the Doctor and he informed me that I had cataracts and should consult an opthalmologist to get them removed. I asked why he didn't tell me that to begin with. The owner was unhappy with having to refund my out of pocket payment. Then I called the insurance company to make sure they would recover what the insurance had paid on my behalf. It was at this point I discovered, Eye Design had overcharged my husband by not giving him a 20% reduction on our out of pocket cost. I had to keep after the insurance company but 3 months after returning the glasses the insurance company finally received back the payment they made on my behalf. I have cataract surgery scheduled in the near future but I will not go back to Eye design Eyewear ever again. Make sure you know what your coverage entails before visiting an eyewear place. read more

Great shop in the trails with very nice staff. I never went in before thinking them to expensive from the outside appearance. I recently lost a nose pad on my current glasses when at the Trails. Walked in expecting to pay for the fix. The gentleman assistant replaced both nose pads, He did both to "keep them balanced and look the same". When I asked how much he said "no charge". WOW the previous place I have purchased my glasses from for years charged me every time I needed a fix on THEIR glasses. When I saw the prescription sun glasses I asked if they do them for my prescription and he said yes. I have always wanted to be able to wear wrap around style sunglasses when driving and out for walks or on the water, With my astigmatism and now needing trifocals that has been a pipe dream. With the new changes in technology this eye store can do it. I immediately went to get my updated eye exam from my Optometrist and make sure that my prescription was fresh. The glasses I chose were cheaper than what my Optometrist could provide and had a better feel to them. The past optical store I bought my glasses from always said they could not make my perscription into those frames. read more

I walked in to see about replacing the broken nose pads on my glasses. I did not buy them from here, I just moved up from Miami early this year. They were very nice and did not charge me..even replaced both pairs, very nice. Since my husband will be needing new glasses soon, I asked about the transitions and the guy was very honest and upfront telling me that transitions won't be good for what he needs. We will definitely be coming back here when the time comes and I hope our next experience is as good as this one was. read more
