Kylie said I work with alot of older people that can't hear and I said well I have excellent hearing. We finished up and she took me to the next room. Once again yelling at me she said I would have to take out my contact so I did. Yelling once again she then said is it out? I said yes! Then she slams my folder on the table and runs out of the room. As I'm sitting there this woman (Patty) comes down walks past me then comes back and asks me to sit across from where I was and then Patty says I need you to change the way I'm speaking. I said excuse me what are you talking about? She then says well I was told that you were not being nice! I said my response to Kylie was YES! Patty then says to me well you need to get out! I sad ok and I left! Now, I know that Dr Granger will Not see this but she needs to rethink Patty's position as well as Kylie's position! I wouldn't recommend Total Vision to anyone! The optometrist is very caring and kind…read more She always answers the million questions that I come in with and they have great instruments to perform the eye exam itself. I am not sure if it's because of my insurance, but I do have to pay an upfront amount for a photo for the back of my eye, but I totally recommend this so you can get a clearer understanding of your eye health. The establishment is always very clean and the people who work here are very kind and accommodating. They are also very knowledgeable with everything associating to the eyes, which is actually really helpful of course. Again, I am not sure how it goes with buying glasses as I do not buy them here for my own reasons, but I have heard great things for that entire process.

I have been dealing with Tomoka Eye Associates for the last 19 months after what I believe was a…read morebotched cataract surgery. I went into surgery with vision in my left eye. When I woke up the next day, my vision was cloudy--like looking through a piece of glass with a large smudge on it. For more than two months, I met repeatedly with Dr. Zobian. In the end, he told me he had done everything perfectly. After that, he referred me to a retina specialist. After many visits, the specialist concluded that nothing could be done. I then spent many more months and thousands of dollars seeking help at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, where I saw two highly regarded eye doctors/surgeons. Their conclusion was the same: nothing could be done to restore my vision. Since then, I have tried to have conversations with Tomoka Eye Associates to reach some kind of resolution, but I have been met with brick walls. If you value your eyesight, time, money, and peace of mind, find another ophthalmologist and another eye center. Do not end up like me--nearing retirement and blind in one eye.

He is an excellent surgeon and when I need surgery again, I trust him to help me. I had very complicated ophthalmic conditions that Dr. Myer was able to resolve. When I got home I got a call that they needed my Medical Insurance in addition to my VSP Eye Insurance. When I asked why hey said they needs to keep it on file, so I gave it to them. The next day another person called and asked for my Medical Insurance info and I once again gave it to them. A day or two later I got a third call asking for the same info. By this time I was getting frustrated and told them I didn't have time to keep doing this and I would give it to them the next time I was in the office. I was then informed that I had a $105 balance for testing above and beyond what VSP covered and it needed to be billed to my Health Insurance so they needed it immediately. I was never informed they were doing additional non-covered testing by either the Dr. Or the staff. Whoever I was talking to said that didn't matter that there was a balance. I explained that I had not met my deductible for my Health Insurance so if I had known I would have asked about the importance of the test and would have possibly declined them. She said the Dr. does whatever she feels is needed and the patient is responsible to pay whatever Insurance does not cover. I once again gave all my info and told her I would pay the balance when I picked up my new glasses. Well today I picked up my new glasses and the first thing I was asked for was my Health Insurance Info. I asked what my balance was and was told $0, when I asked what happened to the $105 balance I was sent back to reception where I was told once again I had a $0 balance. I asked again what happened to the $105 balance and the receptionist went in back to ask someone else. She came back and said that the $105 had been submitted to my insurance and they had not been advised how much Insurance would cover yet so they didn't know how much I needed to pay. I explained that I would pay the $105 immediately so that I could leave and never have to deal with that office again. As far as my new glasses go, I like them so far but they were just handed to me and still need to be fitted as they slide down my nose. No one offered to adjust them for me at all. I also asked for a copy of my Contacts Prescription but was told it was unavailable at this time because the Dr had forgot to sign it. While my first impression of the staff was positive they turned out to be inept, unorganized and have very poor customer service skills. I will find a new Dr even if I have to travel farther.

They have helped us with everything from reading glasses, to helping my son learn to wear contacts. Dr. Wilgers is by far the best eye doctor I have encountered. Her thoroughness on explaining everything in the exam makes you sure you are aware of what is going on with your vision. I personally wear both contacts and glasses and the team that they have working in both areas are wonderful. Every time I get my vision checked it's exciting because I know there won't be any surprises and it feels like I am just seeing friends. It's called a "retinal scan" and it is not necessary for corrective lenses in healthy eyes. However, no $50 fee for his job, no exam performed for corrective lenses. No other places in Port Orange require this. When I complained he told me that "If you don't like it go somewhere else", and that his "fiance has student loans"...LOL. I call it "retinal scam". Avoid this place like the plague. Other reviews say the same, I wish I had read them before. I'm sorry to have to write this, but you brought this on yourself.
