I highly recommend coming to Visionworks for eye exams. The optometrist is very caring and kind. She always answers the million questions that I come in with and they have great instruments to perform the eye exam itself. I am not sure if it's because of my insurance, but I do have to pay an upfront amount for a photo for the back of my eye, but I totally recommend this so you can get a clearer understanding of your eye health. The establishment is always very clean and the people who work here are very kind and accommodating. They are also very knowledgeable with everything associating to the eyes, which is actually really helpful of course. Again, I am not sure how it goes with buying glasses as I do not buy them here for my own reasons, but I have heard great things for that entire process. read more

I've been to this location a number of times fortunately not for services that I require but more for transportation to and from while my girl picked up her glasses or had them adjusted, although I haven't participated directly I have certainly wittiness the extremely friendly and professional customer service. The store is very clean and organized and we've never experienced anything but exceptional service and products. I'd definitely come to this location if at some point in the future I need corrective lenses - I do have several pair of Costa sunglasses that could use some maintenance and adjusting but this visit wasn't about me so that's a different story. I've been wearing my old RX for glasses and finally was able to get into a different eye place and different eye DR who confirmed vision works is trash and they have received multiple of their eye PTs to correct their vision. This place is a scam. Clearly don't know what they are doing and enjoy being rude to their PTs when challenged. I would NOT recommend this place. Target eye center is better. My mom and I came here because she accidentally bent part of the frame. Larry assisted us and told us that he can try to fix it however it may end up breaking all together because of the area that was bent. A few minutes later he was done and he fixed it perfectly for mom and cleaned the lenses as well. We have never been here before but we will come back again. I was able to walk in and be checked in with covid procedures that i like. My glass frames were broken and they were able to locate another frame and replace my lenses in the matter of 10 minutes. The ladies there were nice and very accommodating. I went for an eye exam and the doctor was very rough and barely spoke to me (assuming because of my age and race). Afterwards, I went to scope out frames so that I could order my glasses. The lady at the front desk was extremely unprofessional and prejudice towards me. She assumed that I didn't have insurance and was yelling out my information from across the room. Here it is 2 weeks later, I called to check the status of my order, she was again very rude and didn't even ask for my name or for any other information. She abruptly said "we'll text you when your order is ready." Out of frustration, I hung up and called back and spoke with another representative and he was able to quickly assist me and informed me that my glasses were ready today for pickup. Visionworks has professional associates that love their job and have fun at work with each other and their clients. They were extremely helpful in helping my wife who had just had cataract surgery. They also helped me pick out a set, awesome client service. There is also another part to an already great experience. Six days after I received my new glasses someone stepped on them at the beach and bent the arm. Bummed I took them back to Visionworks to see if they could repair them and they weren't able to do it, but instead of just saying "Oh, well", they ordered me new frames at NO charge! Awesome! I didn't know we needed an appointment even though we were just looking for frames and didn't need an eye exam. Even though the staff let us stay, they made it very clear we were inconvenient and not wanted despite wearing double masks and using hand sanitizer and a basket. Very slow service and also disorganized. My appointment was at 10:20 AM I arrived at 10:15 and didn't leave until after 12:30 PM. I will point out, that most of my time was spent sitting there wondering what was going on. I went in for an eye and contact lens exam and the doctor seemed very rushed did not explain any of the procedures she was doing and didn't even give me feedback on my retina scans (I think that's what they were no one explained). Doctor and check in lady didn't seem like they could even be bothered. 2nd time here in 2 years. I guess they changed management. I will NOT be coming back. I was so disappointed and bothered by my visit that I waited for my prescriptions and left. I did not even order contacts or even look at their glasses because obviously they did not want my business. I'll be getting my products elsewhere. read more

Very happy with the service... had an exam and dr explained things about my eye that other drs. In the past had not explained. They took my insurance VSP, which was very nice to find a place who took it that was a franchise we several eyeglass selection. That's always been an issue is finding a pair of glasses to look nice. I've been doing business here for at least 5 years, and I've always been very pleased with the service and personal treatment I've been given. This goes for my friend as well, whom I highly recommended buying her glasses here at the Port Orange store about two years ago. Well, about 3 months ago one of my frames developed a manufacturing defect. I took them in to see what could be done. Robin said that since it was a manufacturing defect and within the warranty, they'd replace them with a new pair of frames! I was so thankful to hear that! The best part of the story though is that Robin and Mike surprised me when they called me three days prior to the date they told me they'd be ready! That worked out terrific, since I really needed those glasses for an event I was about to attend that weekend. I haven't had such wonderful and knowledgeable experience in purchasing eyeglasses before going here. I went in with a written prescription after trying 2 other places. Rafaela assisted me and was the one who made my experience here joyful. I came in on a busy day without an appointment with the understanding I might have to come back if they were busy with appointments (and I did the next day after a brief assistance). She was so pleasant and a joy to be around. She is extremely knowledgeable about the frames and how they fit your face to the prescriptions. I have never had anyone explain so much to me in decades. It was truly a BLESSING to walk in that day and have her help me. She listened to my issues with the frames I have had and was able to tell me the type of frames I should look for and they fit so much better! Do NOT expect to walk out with what you pay for!!! I called to make certain I could pay the doctor to provide me a prescription for computer glasses. I went in and confirmed that when I left I would have all I need to be able to purchase computer glasses - with the doctor's prescription. I had a full eye exam and walked away with a prescription - only to find out that it was missing information I needed to order computer glasses unless I went back. The problem with going back is I intended to buy computer glasses as well but was left by one salesperson after another. STAY AWAY!! It's not worth your time. read more

NO, NO, NO, NO. Don't even consider getting glasses here. I have a mild prescription and was getting a pair of glasses mostly for working in front of a computer screen. The first TWO pairs of lenses they gave me were scratched, so they suggested using a different lens material without charging me more... Third time was a charm and I was a happy camper. I went in today for a simple frame adjustment. When the woman looked at the glasses to give back to me, she mentioned the lenses didn't look good and she wanted to replace them. Whatever, looked okay to me when I brought them in, but I'm not the expert here. I mentioned the two scratched pairs and she told me not to worry, they'd "double pad" the new lenses when they cut them. Came back less than an hour later and - spoiler alert - the new lenses were scratched worse than the first two pairs had been. I asked to have my old lenses put back in because as soon as I look at a computer screen, the scratches catch the light. The associate brought the old lenses out and they were absolutely destroyed. She said the coating was cracked and that this sort of damage is caused by heat. So, they were ruined when the first woman heated my frame to adjust it. Now I must patiently await my FIFTH PAIR of lenses, and meanwhile the scratches on my lenses are too visually disturbing to wear them at all. Absolutely ridiculous! I paid around $600 after insurance for these and a pair of sunglasses and now I can't even wear these. Next time I will pay out of pocket and go to Walmart, because even though it's Walmart, they've never failed at making glasses for me. Would give zero stars if I could! read more

Very under-staffed, be prepared for an extremely long wait. Only one woman behind the counter working. Operate on walk-ins, first come, first serve basis. Person came out from back room but never acknowledged customers that were waiting or offered to help woman behind counter. Poor customer service. Sales are very misleading once you get down to the nitty gritty. I used to only shop at this store for my prescription glasses, but things are not nearly what they used to be a couple of years ago when there were many people available to help you. read more

I had such a pleasant experience. The doctor was knowledgeable, fast, reasonable, and great bedside manner. The younger girls that work their seem to not be as helpful. They had one customer and two girls neither one seem to want to take the time to assist me with picking out frames. Jennifer and the other more mature staff members were excellent. Jennifer got me in right away for an appointment. And when I express the lack of customer service skills by the younger staff they were apologetic, and turn my whole experience around. I had ask for Jennifer she was patient, friendly, and she has an eye for selecting eye frames. I recommend this place to everyone. I got my prescription from my doctor I went to the vision works because they had a sale going on two of my glasses for $69 sat down and waited for the person to come over he filled out the paperwork and said oh it'll be two weeks if that said thank you we left two weeks later I go in one pair is ready the other is nowhere to be found the sales lady tells me it's because they're busy that they did not expect a larger volume of people so she said that she will call me when they come in 20 days later I go in they just have the one pair my second pair is nowhere to be found so I took my one pair got home not even 24 hours later the lens pops out because the screw wasn't screwed tightly I go back the very next day it being a Sunday only one person is working he had to answer the phones talk to people and find my second pair of glasses he then tells me it's because of the volume they didn't expect that many people to come in and get glasses read more

I have been going to vision works since I moved to Port Orange in 2013. Had good service in the biggining. Last two years things have gotten progressively worse there. Once I took a back up pair of glasses in there to get the arm fixed and the girl is saying why bother with these old things. I would go in there to order contacts and the lady that ordered contacts was never there. I starting buying contacts elsewhere. Now contacts are too hard on my eyes so I am going with glasses. In the meantime I have be n wearing my old glasses which have an outdated prescription in the right eye. Selected high end frames, high definition, non glare and transition lenses. I have been unable to drive at night for 4 weeks as I had to go 2 weeks without contacts before the eye exam and then waiting for glasses to come in. Was so excited to come in and get my glasses, I try on my glasses and loved them. They say they need to tighten them and they proceed to break the glasses. This stuff happens but I told them they were fine. It's been a conglomeration of many bad experiences there. Will go back to pick up my glasses but after that never again. It's a shake because they have a great selection of frames and competitve prices. I am done with them. read more

Don't go here. Just run the other way. I have tried to use this Vision Works on two different occasions (tried to give them the benefit of the doubt) but they have screwed up too many times! The first time I went to get contacts, the optometrist was rude and the staff ordering the contacts had no clue what they were doing. They messed everything up with my insurance. The second time I went in to just get lenses placed in a pair of frames I already owned and loved. The gentleman that helped me was also clueless. He couldn't find my insurance, tried to charge for unnecessary additions to the lenses that I did not want (ALWAYS look at the itemized rec) and was rude. When I went to pick up my glasses I noticed that they did not have transition lenses like I ordered. He was rude about having to re-order them, saying "that day was confusing" but still ordered them assuring me that they would call when the lenses came in for me to bring the frames back to get them placed. Well, I just called 2 weeks later and the lenses have been in for a week!!! Just run the other way. I will never go back here! read more
