When we asked if there was coffee or hot cocoa we were told to go to the bar and order it and it would be delivered to us- we were surprised that she didn't stand up and offer to take care of it for us. Customer service training should be a focus. There are a lot of places to stay and we should feel that we made the right choice in staying here and spending money here but we don't. Hopefully employee training as well as some repairs will be done so that customers can benefit.

When we checked in at 2 AM, exhausted from our cross-country trip, and a one hour drive, the receptionist sent us to the wrong wing, and when I went downstairs, he sent me back up, saying I just didn't see it. I had to go down and have him come upstairs to help us find our room only to discover it wasn't where he sent us at all. Next, there was no bottled water in the entire building, not to buy or what is customarily complementary in a hotel of this price range The very polite guy went onto explain that it was because they hadn't received their shipment of water. I'm confused because I sure did pass Walmart, Target a grocery store and a Trader Joe's just minutes from here. But alas no one thought to go get water. Their parking lot is a four minute walk from the hotel. You may hit the jackpot and get one of the 45 spots right in front of the hotel. We didn't. Boo!! Also, they are saving money by not cleaning the rooms daily. I think that's BS but it would've at least been nice for them to tell us a check in. I found a gray hair on the comforter which was not ours. Gross!!! They do have a fancy, highfaluting Molecule air filter that I did not steal. I don't love this place and I wouldn't recommend it for any other reason then if you were spending multiple days on campus. If I come again, I will request daily service and also request to be in the west wing.

Service was friendly. We hit one slight hiccup when my daughter's neighbor (who we invited along) ordered the chicken risotto from the menu and ordered it without red peppers- but ended up sending it back because it came with. The rest of our meals totally made up for it. Hubs was happy with his skirt steak, my daughter enjoyed the roasted salmon with risotto and my seafood risotto? Tasty- and these folks aren't even Italian. The only real miss was the cocktails. Hubs' and mine both sounded amazing on the menu, but they were weak. Still, prices are reasonable, the vibe was nice, portions are big and it ended up being a great spot to celebrate my daughter's special win.

I know they partner with Amherst College's film club as well. They host special screenings with talks beforehand. The theaters range from small to super small and intimate, offering a unique viewing experience that no other place in the area can provide. This cinema is ensuring the film doesn't die and that no one is left behind. They were particularly influential in my film journey because of all the international films that they show. She gave us lists of preferred vendors to choose from, she gave us good questions to ask them, she advised us when we asked, but ultimately let us make our own choices. She was 100% willing to look at any other vendors not on her lists, as well. She made sure we were well informed and comfortable with our choices, but that they were our own, not influenced elsewhere. I found her very helpful with small things especially closer to the wedding. Tons of little questions cropped up and Pam was always on it, she reached out to our venue for us and got us answers so we could focus on other things. The day of the wedding she was amazing. As the bride, I had to worry about nothing. She understood what I asked for and made sure it was all set up--and it was! No issues, no mistakes, no problems, everything ran completely smoothly, largely thanks to Pam's presence and help. Cost-wise, very affordable. I pictured a planner to be MUCH more expensive than Pam is (especially when you're dealing with wedding prices, ho boy!) She has a simple down payment and contract, and final payment due closer to day of. All payments and paperwork were handled well and expediently. In the end, she often says "it's whatever you want!" and she truly works to make that happen.

So I was very surprised when we found our seats to see just how far back the mezzanine is, and that the orchestra seats are graduated upward so there is no one directly in front of you. The show that we saw is not big on visual, but the acoustics are phenomenal. The Fine Arts Center allowed this music to soar. For future shows though I would sit closer in the orchestra. Prior to the show there was a party on the plaza with desserts, live music, and a cash party. A fun way to start the evening, thank you.

Let me start by saying that Marx Entertainment provided both DJ services and Photo Booth services…read morefor our wedding. We were very unhappy with the DJ but happy with the Photo Booth set up and staff. My husband and I had DJ Craig for our wedding in September 2023. We had two meetings with him beforehand were we discussed how we would like the night to run. In addition to a list of "must-play" songs (something we were encouraged to complete), we discussed how we would like our table-dash, anniversary dance, alumni photo, and private dance to operate. We also noted on multiple occasions during both calls that we DID NOT want a lot of remixes. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with how DJ Craig managed all of these aspects except for the table dash and private dance. Here is where our issues lie: - Out of our 30 or so must play songs maybe half were played. - As laid out on the Marx Entertainment website we chose a "last song" for the dance floor. DJ Craig played the song we designated as our last song as a way to open the dance floor. - The first 30 minutes were exclusively remixes and bad ones at that. It got to the point where we said something to DJ Craig, and while the music did get better, he still continued to play remixes. Honestly, a Spotify playlist would have been better. - The anniversary dance was something DJ Craig suggested and we loved the idea. However, instead of doing what he had described to us where he starts calling people off the dance floor after some dancing and starting with short time increments, DJ Craig called for anyone married for less than 5 years to leave the dance floor after approximately 20 seconds. People hadn't even REACHED the dance floor to start dancing at that point, including the parents of the groom. Not to mention we are a young couple and that kicked more than half of the people off the dance floor in one sweep. - College alumni photo was announced at a very weird time and very rushed. Just felt awkward - We were immediately asked once the lights turned on to provide a positive video review for DJ Craig. This was extremely uncomfortable and we gave dishonest feedback during it. We would NOT recommend him. Like I said previously, the Photo Booth staff was excellent and we loved the book they made us. We also had no issues with booking or prior communication with Marx. While the set up and logistical execution of the event went well we didn't feel our opinions were considered at all in song selection and that the fun mini-events we had throughout the night went poorly

They provided a…read morededicated online portal where we could easily share lists of our song preferences and we were also able to meet both over the phone and in person with our DJ prior to the event to discuss details. Our DJ, Manu, went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a successful event. He was in touch with us via phone and text a few days prior to finalize details, he arrived several (4-5!) hours early to make sure everything was set up correctly and sounding great, and once things got started I don't think he took even a 5 minute break! The music was great, he was a welcoming and enthusiastic MC, and I can't think of a single complaint. He even thanked US at the end for such a fun and warm event. We were so happy. We would hire them again in a second!
