I don't even know where to start in raving about Pete's services! I contacted Pete from San Francisco to inquire about using his services for our Western Mass wedding and knew right away that he was the right DJ for us. While I live in the city now, I'm a country girl at heart, and Pete delivered that special kind of small-town service - he worked with us in every way, taking the stress out of the long distance planning. He guided us without steering us into his own comfort zone; contacted us when necessary without being overbearing; picked up the ball when WE dropped it - hello, Father/Daughter dance download moments before the ceremony; capable and knowledgeable as well as perfectly humble - and was totally chill and a pleasure to work with! We used Pete for our ceremony music and wedding receptions (he took a break during cocktail hour and we played an ipod). Pete played a "pre-ceremony playlist" created by us for when guests arrived at the ceremony site as well as mic-ing our ceremony itself. His set up is great - minimal but fully adequate. The music was played at the perfect level and I felt our guests could hear everything without feeling like we were broadcasting to the entire neighborhood. For the reception music, Pete worked with us extensively by phone and email in the months leading up to the wedding, requesting music likes and dislikes to help him in his music selection and was open and agreeable when we went a little nuts and submitted rather extensive lists! We also supplied him with a a pre-approved (by us) guest "request list" to supplement his choices, which he used perfectly over the course of the night. I was initially worried about not micro-managing our reception music, because it was probably the most important wedding item for us, but by the time the wedding day rolled around we had 110% confidence in Pete's discretion. AND WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! Pete played great music during dinner and easily picked up on the spirit of the night when our guests hit the dance floor earlier than anticipated! Because of Pete's understanding of our likes and dislikes and awesome selections, the dance floor was bumping from beginning to end - he even played a couple "encores" when the "One More Song!" chanting came! We got SO MANY compliments about the music, from every demographic of guest you could imagine! Pete emceed when necessary and kept things flowing nicely (we had no planner, so this was key...especially as our caterer had promised to partner with Pete and I and totally failed on that point!). Pete approached me about upcoming moments (dances, cake cutting) without stressing me out one bit and also made a couple announcements when asked. LASTLY, Pete continued to be awesome even after our event was over! He mentioned he could give us a recording of our ceremony for a small fee. The recording didn't include the processional music so Pete edited it in for us, staying up late that very night to get it done asap - even though we didn't request a rush! Pete really cares about his customers and it shows in everything he does. I really cannot say enough good things about Pete - in the aftermath of planning a wedding I now know just how important hiring the right vendors is...there's the good, the bad, the ugly and then there's Pete: The Best. If you need a competent, friendly, professional DJ, please save yourself the headache of exhaustive searching and just hire Pete. We were very lucky to have Pete as our DJ! He was extremely accommodating to our long list of songs/genres prior to the wedding, as well as to the many(!) guest requests all night. He did a site visit with us months before the wedding to fully understand the acoustic and lighting needs for the outdoor ceremony and indoor dance floor areas. He nailed this on our wedding day. 3. The recordings he provides of the ceremony and toasts are priceless. I've listened to them a few times already and it's only 2 weeks post-wedding. 7. We couldn't be happier with hiring Pete as the DJ for our wedding. He was very easy to work with and was able to capture the music theme we were looking for perfectly. We originally were going to have our ceremony outside but when rain started last minute Pete was on top of everything and ready to go moments later when we moved the ceremony inside. Towards the end of the night Pete noticed my wife and I had not gotten on the dance floor due to the ceremony rain delay and the extra time it took us to go around greeting all our guests. It would be impossible to give Pete any less than 5 stars. Pete is friendly, professional, punctual and knows his business! We provided a few songs that we wanted to hear during the reception but overall felt is was Pete's job to know how to get a wedding crowd moving and what type of music it takes to keep people on their feet. Pete did just that! Everyone had SO much fun, even my 80+ year old aunts were dancing the night away! Not only did he DJ the reception but he also arrived at the Church earlier in the day to set up a cordless microphone and other equipment that my ceremony musician needed. Additionally, Pete had to set up two systems for music at the reception: one outdoors in a tent and another indoors. At the end of the night I asked Pete to continue to playing music since everyone was having so much fun. He remained at the reception and continued to play great tunes at no additional cost. We couldn't have been more happy or satisfied with Pete as our DJ and I can assure you, you won't be let down if you choose him as your wedding DJ. read more
