A few years ago my best friend got her septum pieced here and it looked great. Now,I dint want my septum pierced now but I've wanted to get my nostril pieced forever. I just got my very first tattoo done by Dan today and what a fantastic job he did!! I thought about my tattoo for over a year and planned it out over the course of a few months with Dan and he was incredibly patient and professional with me. I heard about Industrial Tattoo from a friend of mine who got her calf done by Dan and I asked about her tattoo and she highly recommended him. The people that work at Industrial are incredibly genuinely nice for the most part (Jake, Mike, the receptionist, Raven, and Lysa) and are truly in it for the art of tattoo and piercing. The place is very sanitary and while I had Dan place stencils on me to test the placement of my tattoo before I actually got it, he put gloves on and sterilized my arm, which I totally did not expect. Today was the day and I peed three times in the tattoo shop before getting inked. I was really really nervous and Dan totally calmed me down along with my sister and best friend. I really was expecting it to be worse than it was. I got a tattoo on my upper arm and it really felt like someone drawing pretty hard on me, but nothing I would even call painful. Dan is a huge sweetheart and he has been vegan for 20 years!! I have been to Zebra before (my sister has tons of piercings from Zebra) and although Zebra is very sanitary, the place lacks passion. Zebra just seems to be where all the college kids from out of town go to get pierced or tattooed. I feel like people there can be a bit stuck up as well, because it is so trendy. I've been coming here for YEARS literally almost 10 years. I've bought MANY MANY jewelry from here, expensive and overpriced yet I stayed loyal. I'm sooooooo annoyed and upset. 1. They only have long stem nose rings that they can't cut and file for you.... 2. The guy who removed a simple nose ring was using the wrong tool, pinched my nose, now it's red and ugly. (This piercing is about 4 years old and was completely healed.) 3. I also have an ugly keloid scar on my neck which before was removed I did not have. 4. I ordered a piece and was told I would receive a call and never did... waited 3 months! I'm not calling them to ask if it's been received, not my job. (Thank goodness I didn't put down a deposit) I don't think I'll be coming here anymore. Got the itch to get another piercing here, this time my septum. Derrick & Lysa helped me out today and they're absolutely fantastic. I got there about 15 minutes after they opened and they were pretty slammed with people wanting to get piercings. Derrick juggled everything with ease, answered everyone's questions when they had any, and just made everyone feel super comfortable as they waited to get pierced. When it was my turn, Lysa came out and introduced herself to me and we made nice small talk as she did the procedure. I love that everyone here is well informed at what they're doing, and it's really really nice when they talk you through exactly what's going on while they're piercing you. They make everything feel super relaxed and painless. Super bonus: everything is meticulously handled and cleaned. Things like constantly changing gloves, etc. It's the little things sometimes, and I love it! Big props to them for playing soothing music throughout the shop. I've been to places that play club music/death metal and it's awful. While my only other review for Industrial was for Lysa (and it was the first time she had pierced me too.. if I remember correctly. haha I've been here too much.) This one is for Josh. Last Thursday, my best friend came over for a visit. We were going to get her her snug and me another dermal. But because we came in too late (630pm) and my old jewelry (I've had 4 dermals done.. all from here) needed to be sterilized, I was told that I could leave my jewelry there then come back whenever I was free, tell them they had my jewelry, then get repierced. My review for Josh is slightly biased because I already thing he's amazing. So instead of going on any other day of the week to get another dermal, I came back in on a Thursday (I may or may not have his tumblr, so I asked. haha) I arrived at 620pm after waking up from my nap figuring that nobody would come in that late since they were going to close at 7pm and mine doesn't take too long. I was wrong. Two girls ahead of me were in for 4 piercings, so the girl working the front asked Josh if he'd mind staying late for me and he didn't at all. I went out for a walk and some froyo before returning. Another reason why I think Josh is amazing: he makes you comfortable. I can talk to him about anything, and not just the stuff related to piercings and tattoos, but food, nutrition, and fitness as well! Before even piercing me, I apologized numerous time and every time, he'd tell me that he doesn't mind and it's totally fine that he's staying late. He started my piercing technically after the shop was already closed. What does that tell you about his customer service?? I wouldn't get a tattoo anywhere else. I go there quite a lot. Dan did some of the best work I've seen on my arm. Every time I go in I sit for hours and I'm completely engaged in conversation with him the whole time. Everybody is very geniune and awesome. I fully enjoy my experience every time I go in. Todd is a super knowledgeable guy. I got my ears pierced by him five years ago or so. He's really friendly and talks you through the procedure and the aftercare. That means he's good for anxious people like me who have had prior experiences with infected/closed piercings. I came back five years later with hot-red, very irritated earlobes after my cheap "14k gold-dipped" earrings that I had bought elsewhere upset my ears. Todd gave me one stern lecture and pointed out two new high-quality earrings in the case at Industrial Tattoo. I accepted his offer to switch the earrings out for me (because I wasn't excited to be touching my angry earlobes) and he did so carefully, with gloves and antiseptics. Whew! One packet of sea salt and one tiny bottle of unscented Dr Bronner's soap were received for the aftercare, and I'm happy to say that my ears healed in less than a week. read more

I never thought I would ever walk into a tattoo/piercing shop ever in my life, but I'm glad that Industrial Tattoo made my first and ever experience really awesome. I was also really surprised that this shop was very clean and professional because most shops on Telegraph are not always the cleanest... (The interior design of this place is also sick!) Back to my experience: I got my earlobes pierced on 05/06/2015, and as I've never gotten any piercings before, I was very nervous and anxious. However, the staff at Industrial was really nice and really cared about their customers. My friend and I had to wait for about 15-20 minutes, but it was understandable, since we did not make any appointments. (LOL this was kind of spontaneous) Anyway, Lysa was a great piercer and made my experience essentially painless. She first disinfected my earlobes. Then she took her time to mark on my ears, and on both sides, where she was going to pierce the needle through. She allowed me to check if the placements were alright with me. [which was really awesome because I should have a say in where I want my holes to be...] The piercing did not hurt as much as I expected it to be; I only felt a slight sharp sensation for a split of a second. My friend got her conch pierced and went through the same similar process, and she did just fine! (what a brave soul she is) Lysa was very friendly and is also a very interesting person, as she told us about how she's been to so many countries/ places. The people here really care about their customers because after we got our piercings done, the staff gave us reminders about what we should do to take care of our piercings. They also gave us salt, so we could soak our new holes in salt water. I also bought a bottle of lavender liquid soap here. The brand they have in stock is Dr. Bronner's Fair Trade & Organic Castile Liquid Soap, and I just have to say that I really love it! I bought a 4 oz bottle here for $5, and I believe the larger 8 oz bottles are $10. This place is on the pricier side of getting piercings (I can't say anything about tattoos) and the jewelry, so you're definitely paying for the experience. ----- Fast forward to a little over two months later: I wanted to get my earrings out, but I was having a hard time, since they were in kinda tight, so I decided to go back and ask them to help me take them out. When I walked in and told the lady at the desk my situation, she told me that there would be a $5 fee for any piercing removals, which made me a bit skeptical because I did not want to pay so much just to get my earrings off! However, I knew that I would not be able to get my earrings off without help, so I agreed. After waiting for a few minutes, a guy helped me, and he was able to get them off in no time. I wish I got his name, but he was really nice and understanding of why I couldn't get my earrings off. (LOL they were really jammed in tight, in my defense) He put my earrings in a bag with some disinfectant, and I was free to go! I thought I had to pay for this service (which I really didn't want to), but I'm so glad I did not have to. The front folks are knowledgeable and attentive. My only issue with them is their lack of preparation for crowds. I waited over an hour and half just to have my jewelry changed. They were very understaffed on a Saturday. You would think that they would prepare for the weekend crowds accordingly. It felt as if they even forgot about my place in line at some point after I pointed out that people that had gotten there after me were being attended before me. They kept saying a another piercer was going to show up "in 15 mins"... but never did during my hour and half there. This last experience with them left a bad feeling. Piece of advice- don't go on the weekend (even tho that seems like the logical time to go as working folks). Honestly can't think of any kind of complaint here. The first time I walked in, I ALMOST felt out of place (not having any tattoos and only having simple ear piercings). But they have such a cool, rusticate, indie, homie, steam-punk feel to it, with plants everywhere. it was just to accompany my niece for a re-pierce and to look at the tattoo books. She had already mentioned how she got her tattoo here and how great it looks and nice the people are. My home girl and I ended up talking to Edward about tattoos and he was extremely chill and confident. Right then and there, she made a deposit and got her tattoos the next week. After sitting in on the session and seeing the finished tattoos, I decided that I liked Edward and his skills enough to schedule an appointment 2 days later. I am very happy with my tattoos, especially given that they were done by someone who typically doesn't do word pieces. He was nice, comfortable, and is chill to talk to. Stopped by the shop with my boyfriend while we're in town because he wanted to get a piercing, and growing up here I had heard nothing but great things about Industrial. We stopped in and started talking to the folks at the check-in desk and we immediately felt at ease. The atmosphere is very calm, professional, but also hip and super well laid out. We found the jewelry that he liked, but neither of us was particularly fond of the end piece on one end of it. Without hesitation, we were presented with tons of options that they said they would swap out for what actually ended up being cheaper than the original piece. That was absolutely awesome! The piercer who pierced my boyfriend was Marina, and she was absolutely fantastic! She answered all questions, even some that we didn't know we had! After that, she was so careful with placement and making sure that he was comfortable which is super important to us. We were in and out of Marina's room in probably under 10 mins and left feeling confident that he knew all he needed to take care of the piercing. Loved this place for various reasons! But, first, just want to say that this place was highly recommended by my brother and his fiance and I couldn't be happier with choosing Industrial to get my nostril piercing! I'm already wanting to get more piercings and I don't even know how to go about maybe getting it done elsewhere because Industrial set the standards so high for me. I've postponed getting the piercing for a few weeks because I was so nervous about possible infections and all, it is after all smack down the middle of my face, but I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. Cleanliness - as soon as you walk in you can sense the vibe of the place, and definitely notice how clean and sanitized they keep their place. Each client get to have their private area for piercings and tattoos and I appreciate that so much! Nothing worse than being seen of how nervous you're getting lol. Font desk - it was a bit late when we went, ~6:30pm on a Saturday so I understand that the receptionist was tired; she wasn't rude, I could just sense she was just about done with her working day. Choosing jewelry - first of all, the prices are pretty steep, but with the quality service I got and no infections per their care instructions (knock on wood), the prices of their jewelry's worth it! They have plenty of options in my perspective and the ladies were so patient with helping us look for our desired jewelry (a friend was with me to get her cartilage done)! Piercing process - there are 2 individuals. The first (Nash for me) explains your care instructions and marks your piercings. This is why I think Industrial is so great - they're patient with the markings, asks for your opinion, makes suggestions and doesn't rush you - AT ALL. I also absolutely LOVE that they talk about the anatomy of your body and whether or not a position would work or not, I can't even express how much I love this - a business's honesty is always a PLUS. The second individual (I forgot her name :() walks through what's going to happen during the piercing itself. I loved her. She makes you feel comfortable, makes sure you're okay before AND after the piercing and converses with you throughout the whole time; I loved the feeling of being a part of something and Industrial was all of that and more! I came here to get my cartilage pierced on my ear a couple of days ago. Everyone was very nice and knowledgeable and patient. With my piercing, my jewelry, and aftercare items (soap and saline) the cost was a little over $70. That was also after my Yelp coupon. It hurt as much as getting a shot and it was very quick. The place is clean and chill and the jewelry is very very pretty! A little pricey for the jewelry, but you get what you pay for (and it is quality, I promise.) I got my lobes pierced recently at Industrial and I'm glad I had chosen to go to Industrial. My friends had raved about Industrial, and so I decided to give it a shot. I went on a Sunday around 3p, and wow the place was packed. The wait to be pierced was around 1.5 hr, so if you want to be pierced fast maybe coming on a weekday or morning weekend would be better. Nash helped me at the front, and he was so kind and patient in answering all of my questions. I was a little nervous about the piercing since I really did not want any infections, and he walked me through everything. Andrea pierced me, and she was very patient in allowing me to make sure the markings were where I wanted to be pierced. She was very detail oriented and careful. The price was definitely steep, as a simple 2 lobe piercing for me came out to be around $220. The service was around $35, but the earrings for me were $75 EACH (18k rose gold studs), along with the soap and saline spray they had for aftercare. My experience was overall wonderful, and I'm happy with my piercings for now. Some slight cons: I think the prices are steep, but hopefully that is due to the quality of earrings they have. And the wait time was quite long, but that definitely depends on when you go! read more

The first time was a "consultation" of sorts because they were about to close and there wasn't time to start that day. Regardless, I went in with a sketch from the internet and he spent 2 hours patiently designing my tattoo to make it more unique and personalized. And I wasn't even charged for that amount of time! When I went back the next week to get it done, he was very gentle and understanding and answered any concerns I had prior to getting inked. I've gone to Industrial before to get my lip pierced, and it was definitely a good experience, so I've recently gone back to get my first tattoo. The artist that I went to was Toe-Knee, who's a really friendly guy who's very talented and easy to talk to. He's done an amazing job on my first tattoo, and I'm going back soon to get it colored in. Their service is amazing, and they definitely made me feel comfortable while I was there getting tattooed for 3 hours. This is really the best place to get pierced. I love the way the place looks inside and the employees are all so nice and helpful. I was eating in Oakland and jokingly said to my friend "we can get piercings" and one hour later I was getting pierced lol. I've always wanted a triple forward helix but my ear isn't big enough so they suggested I get a double forward helix. The piercings only took about 4 minutes and on a scale of 1-10 the pain was about a 3. I paid $25 per piercing and $64 for the jewelry. I was pierced by Andrea and she made me feel rly comfortable I would definitely go back to her (or anyone there rly I'm sure each one is so good lol) But yeah I am so happy I ended up getting pierced here!
