Best restaurant in the Santa Ynez Valley in my limited experience. The food was fresh, well prepared and creative. We had the little gems salad, beef tongue pastrami sandwich, beef and tomatillo pizza, blood orange brûlée with rum & ginger ice cream, and brownies. All was excellent. Very cool scene, welcoming vibe from the first second we walked in. Great pizza - the wild mushroom was tasty! The topper though is the delicious shrimp pancetta dish. Tasted like a $20 dish but since it only has five shrimp so they fairly priced it at $13. Not very kid friendly menu at all but you can get by... the pheasant salad was great. Yummy shallot dressing! The food outside of the pizza is greatly overrated. The uni, oyster and avocado was a complete miss. The oysters were extremely fishy, and the restaurant refused to take it back. The miso cod was also a gigantic miss as the broth was lacking flavor and the cod was overly sweet. The porchetta was decent, and the smoked peppers were awesome with them. The sausage and fennel pizza was GREAT, as most of the reviewers indicated below, and it was the only item that we ordered that tasted good. The service is quite lacking as one of the waitresses essentially refused to talk to us about the food and about cancelling an order (last item came 40mins afterwards). While ordering, keep in mind the menu is written on butcher paper and is slightly vague with descriptions, she would not offer recommendations when we asked because she "didn't want to impose her judgement on my order". There was the array of menus on the wall plus a bunch of small placards all over the counter I didn't see until we had already ordered. There was a list of "pizza" and a list of "not pizza". What?? It took a while to process it all. We ordered the fennel sausage pizza and a little gem salad. The pizza arrived first and was decent, although the crust had a not so pleasant burnt taste. The salad was sopping wet, way overdressed and hard to enjoy with so much dressing. Maybe this is a hip, popular place but I didn't care for the format or the food. I heard good things so I gave it a try. The shrimp scampi with bread was amazing. The individual flavors popped out at you. A memorable experience. The brussel sprouts were interesting, balsamic vinegar is not my favorite but i applaud them for trying to be creative. The proscuitto pizza, however, was a disappointment . I the arugala & dressing gave the pizza a bitter taste that was not pleasant. The bread was decent quality however they did not cut the pizza all the way so i had to physically fight the pizza to tear a slice off. Not the arm workout i wanted to have that day. Cutting it was also difficult. The worsr part was the nausea i got after. It spoiled my whole meal. We brought home the leftover slices because we werent sure which item made us nauseas , but when we took a bite of it again later it was definitely the pizza. It was so bad i had to put some ketchup on it to make it edible ... thats how you know its bad. :/ I dont think id give it another try. read more

The dough was delicious and baked with just the right crispiness. The hamburger patty was a bit too salty for my taste, but the overall burger was very good. Farm to table. Everything I had was so delicious. I came here for dinner while visiting the wine country then went back for lunch the following day. The seafood was especially exceptional. I usually go for meat dishes but nothing beats fresh seafood. I would go with a group of people so you can try various dishes. Since their ingredients are seasonal you may not find the same dish on the menu but here is what I tried: White Shrimp, Mackerel with salsa verde, Miso Cod, Mussels in garlic sauce, Whole fish with curry sauce. We came here on a slow Sunday afternoon around 4 pm to sample the Puerto Rican-inspired Restaurant Week 3-course menu (for just $20.18, it's a steal!), and were not disappointed. Two people in our 6-person party are locals, and they say that usually Industrial is pretty hopping on a Sunday afternoon, but we lucked out and got the place almost entirely to ourselves. All of the people working were friendly, attentive, and more than happy to offer suggestions and reviews of the food! They kept the food coming quickly and our water glasses filled. The first course was a delicious dish of plantains, spicy shrimp, and a great salad that I couldn't get enough of. Really delicious mix of fresh greens, pickled veggies, red cabbage and queso fresco. Second course was a huge helping of pork belly over Puerto Rican rice with a plantain chip. This was delicious, but as is the nature of pork belly, very fatty! Our last course consisted of a to-die-for mascarpone cream, puff-pastry, vanilla sauce with fresh tangerines, mint, and a piece of guava leather. I loved the cream and fresh elements, but could have done without so much puff-pastry. All the while as we ate, we were already picking out our next meals from the sandwich and pizza menus behind us. Creative menu in a down to earth setting. We really enjoyed the ambiance. Decor is definitely eclectic but all very stylish. If urban outfitters had a food court ruled over by a Michelin starred chef, this would be it. Some of the best wood-fired crust I've had on a pizza. Get the Khatchapuri for sure. Fennel apple pizza is literally just fennel. And apple. Lots of sweet acidic goodness, but not the most balanced dish. And a couple walnut crumbles. I'd probably pass on that one next time, but at least it's creative and tasty. Creativity is one thing this place does not lack. We tried the prosciutto arugula pizza, the bacon peach Gorgonzola pizza, and our kids got plain cheese and cheese with bacon. The food was delicious and I like the set up. Big airy and open kitchen. Lots of good sounding things on the menu. This was our first time here and the counter person was a bit less than helpful. This is order at the counter and then they bring it to the table. They were not busy when we got there but the woman at the counter seemed annoyed at my questions about the smalll plates; clearly this was new to us. "it's those ingredients on a plate" was her stock answer and kind of an unsaid "stupid! " ...way to sell it! We ordered a skirt steak pizza to share " the pizzas are an individual portion" she said, and held up a dinner plate to represent the size. Maybe for her, for us there was more than enough. It was brick-oven pizza, one of the tastiest crusts ever, well done on the top and a bit soft in the middle. I would order it again. The floor staff who delivered the food were charming and friendly. Unlike the woman who (sort of) greeted us. I love the communal seating; we got to see a lot of the other dishes and chat with a charming solo diner. Then you go find your seats. Even though it was a Saturday night we were able to sit right away. Luckily the other people at the table were cool. That can go either way. I ordered the pork belly. It came with some roasted potatoes. The pork belly was good. You get a decent amount. I would have liked a little more flavor from them, but I enjoyed it none the less. I am always a fan of roasted potatoes so that was a nice touch. There were some greens included too, but I stuck to the parts I tend to love. This place is good. They have an interesting menu with solid food. For me it falls in the three to four star area. I do not understand the hype, but we would try it again. Great food but my last 2 times at Industrial Eats I've been very disappointed with the service (or lack of). Not sure why they're still serving out of to-go boxes, it certainly isn't good for the environment and definitely takes away from the dining experience. Also, I didn't see any staff cleaning tables setup in the parking lot. I actually didn't see any staff period tending to the tables/patrons outside.
