Food overall is good... but the rajas con queso tacos are just out of this world, a must have!

Their Gorditas never fail. The ones with chile poblano and cheese (Rajas con queso) and Chorizo and papas are my favorite. I was worried about parking with this establishment being on busy Cermak Road but I was able to secure a perpendicular parking space right in front. The restaurant was packed at 8pm. I ordered a tongue, chicken , and steak taco to go. When I was told 3 tacos came out to 15 buck I was gobsmacked! It was almost double the price on the menu board .I told the guy to forget the steak taco. The menu board listed the chicken taco with a long Spanish word that began with an "e". I asked him to describe this chicken taco and he pointed to the precooked meats in trays behind the counter. The chicken meat was cooked in a red sauce that looked like chicken tinga but upon tasting it, it did not have the chipotle salsa flavor, it was more mild but tasted good. The tongue taco was cooked in the same red sauce and was fabulous. It contained rice and beans too but the chicken taco did not. I would have preferred the meat to be chopped smaller. Their red salsa was not very good. So these 2 tacos still cost $9. The board listed them combined as a little over $6. They likely charged extra for the tomato and cheese toppings. The tacos were very good but I have had better ones that cost less. read more

Been going to this place as a kid back when it was a little dive on 31st street in chicago. The owner would never let a kid go hungry if u had no money all he ask was u come back when u had it. One thing that has not changed is the food still awesome, and consistent. You can go still go on 31st, Cicero or 63rd street and the food is always great along with the service. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Best of all almost 30yrs later I'm taking my kids. read more

I love this place! Tacos de Rajas are the best! And they're big tacos too unlike at other places. It's A very small place but sometimes places who have more room just lose its touch and don't really focus on the quality of the food. So I prefer it that way. read more

I have been eating here for many years since I was a young girl , and I usually always order the same torta de al pastor. This is my favorite authentic Mexican restaurant, although it is small and can get crowded, it's worth the wait. The prices are reasonable and have not changed much throughout the years. The staff is nice, most of them have been there for years, and never had a problem with them. read more

There's nothing inherently wrong or bad with the tacos I've had from Indio. But there's nothing that makes them stand out either. The chicken I had was ever so slightly spicy but, really, it was more chicken-y than spicy. And the beef was devoid of spice altogether which really surprised me. Service is fine - this is a hole in the wall, so it's pretty bare-bones, but that's okay. I think I still prefer Zacatacos. read more

I love this place definitely a hidden gem. Great authentic Mexican food at the best price. They open early and close late, unfortunately closed on Sundays and the place should really expand. Every time i've gone it's very difficult to get a table and for that they lose a star. read more

Note: parking can be difficult to find during busy times (especially at night) and the place is a little small. I appreciate that they're open a little later. I was skeptical once I received my order seeing how I'm use to bigger portion sizes. However, once I got home and took a bite I was quite satisfied with the burrito taste and size. The torta de Milanese is definitely better, I recommend it. And the salsa was DELICIOUS! It's hard to find a spot that serves spicy salsa nowadays. read more

This place has a dish called "El Indio Especial" and it is delicious!!! The service is good. I just think the place is too small. If ur going to take out i recommend calling in the order for pick up. Otherwise ur just going to b left standing waiting and in the way of the servers. read more
