I found indigo sanctuary when I was really in need of a massage. She was able to fit me in same day. I explained to her I was interested in the Swedish massage and also said I was suffering from a tension headache and it had been going on for 3 days already. She added some cranial sacral massage to help with the blood flow and it definitely lessened the headache. Two days later and I'm headache free finally. Her studio is also super cute and relaxing. We had Vanessa do a sound healing on our mother following a stroke. It was incredible. She explained the vibrations and sounds to my Dad so he would understand the importance and what each sound focuses on. She was patient and took her time. We noticed our mom was more alert and was able to move her moveable side much better after the first session. With all the stress in my life, and having to be away from home for work, it was amazing of my wife to set up a massage for me. She picked Indigo Sanctuary based on the other yelp reviews, and let me tell you that the reviews are spot on. When entering, you are greeted with a smile and a very professional welcoming. Vanessa has a way of making you feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment you step inside. Very important when you are going to get a massage. I chose the 90 minute deep tissue massage and it was perfect. The massage room was warm and relaxing, the music was soothing, and the decor was so precisely placed that everything felt balanced. Vanessa asked a few questions to find out where my problem areas are and although I asked for a full body massage, her main focus was on the areas that I felt needed the most work. Once the massage started, she kept contact the entire time so I always knew exactly where she was at. (It helps you to feel comfortable and really relax when you know where your therapist is at all times.) The pressure of the massage itself was perfect. There was never any pain with the deep tissue work but she definitely got into the muscle and made a considerable difference. Not only in the way I felt, but also my range of motion. At the end of the massage, she asked me if it was ok for her to do some sound therapy for my bad knee. I said yes, and let me tell you, I could actually feel the sound in my knee. Such a strange and awesome feeling. I know that may sound weird, but I could actually feel the sound. If you don't believe me, go and try it for yourself. Long story short, I walked in up tight and tense and left feeling like a very relaxed, million bucks. My wife and I experienced a couples wound bath together. It was a truly memorable experience. We scheduled the appointment with Vanessa a month before our trip. She responded quickly and was easy to set up an appointment with. Earlier the day of our sound bath had been a difficult day for both of us. I think it's important for you (if you're considering Indigo Sanctuary) to understand where I was and where I am now. I went through a period of darkness. There were things going on in my life that rocked my soul. I felt like my soul died. So that's where I was a year ago. I was looking for lymphatic drainage massage because I had swollen glands in my neck for a month and had been to the doctors, had blood test ran and everything came back as normal. I was feeling sluggish, exhausted, I was in pain anytime I would swallow, and my glands were large, they looked like a bump on my neck. My mom suggested I look into lymph drainage to get some sort of relief and I am so glad I found Vanessa. She actually knows the technique, it is not a regular massage. She explained it as a light pumping of the lymphatic system. It was relaxing still and it didn't take long during the service. She also suggested craniosacral massage and sound healing, both I had never heard of but was open to. Vanessa's presence is light and inviting. She knows her craft well and still continues to learn more, which will benefit her client. During my appointment she explained to me about the mind body connection and brought up points that make sense as to why I'm having throat issues. There were other points she brought up while performing the sound healing that made sense in my mind but I would have never thought of on my own. After my appointment I felt like I had more energy and was not so weighed down. By the next day I had a noticeable difference in my throat pain, I could swallow and it was only slightly irritated, which made me so happy. My glands are still swollen, but have gone down about 30% and at this point I will take any improvement. My mom also noticed a difference in how I was feeling and commented that I didn't seem as down, where as before she could tell I was in pain. I have some swollen lymph neck glands that come and go intermittently as they please and had a friend recommend this type of lymph massage so I searched it on Yelp.
