Several parking spaces and a short walk down the sidewalk, across a wooden walkway to the amazing water view. There are no shaded areas so plan to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon. However, if you end up here right in the middle of the day, don't worry! Your kids will be excited to cool down at the adjacent water park- also free! In between the city and water park there is a nice mostly shaded playground. This was such a fun place to visit! There is a big mall within a 10 min drive so you can make this a day trip!

This park is located next to Gator Run Elementary School. I came over to seven acre Gator Run Park to walk off some anxiety after dropping off my dog at the vet for surgery. Park amenities include a bike fixit repair station, lighted walkways, restroom, sand volleyball court, shaded playground, and three picnic shelters. Rest assured that there are no gators to run from here. The alligator in the parks name refers to the fact the Weston is Broward County's most western town, situated right next to the Everglades. This is a great park to come for exercise, take your dog for a walk, take the kids to play, in, or have a picnic. I really love Weston and the immaculate parks are one of the reasons.

Although it's very famous for its off road courses, biking the paved roads of the park is great as well. I've also used the range here, solid. But over the past couple years, we have come out here for the disc golf. It's a great course. Tough holes that feel very makable but still can humble most that play it. Besides the exercise path there are benches, a shaded playground, and a covered picnic pavilion. In the center of the park is an open play area and several large ficus trees. At the edge of the park we discovered a community kindness rock garden which encourages you to take a rock and leave one. I love how well maintained and beautifully landscaped the parks are in Weston. I also love that they are dog friendly. Dogs on leashes are always welcome as long as you clean up after yourself with the poo bags they kindly provide. This is just one of the many beautiful parks in Weston that add charm to the city.

I discovered this lovely park while attending a community tag sale. No, there are no flamingos…read morehere. The park takes its name from Flamingo Road. Opened in 2019, this 28 acre park has four synthetic football/soccer fields, concession stands, a 560 square foot meeting room which can be rented, four picnic pavilions with tables, restrooms, and a shade covered playground with climbing structures, swing sets, and multiple slides. The park also has 3.32 acres of wetlands with a 2 acre lake with a fishing pier. . My favorite part of the park was the almost half mile walking path around the wetlands and lake. During my walk I saw a number of birds including Egyptian Geese and Ibis. The wetlands area is perfect for attracting wildlife. Other birds you may find here include common gallinule, wood storks, mottled ducks, limpkins, tricolored herons, great blue herons, black crowned night herons, anhingas, and great egrets. The creation of this park helped to ease the burden of the overcrowded athletic fields in Cooper City but this park is also a welcome resource for anyone wanting somewhere to hold a meeting or party, a place to take the kids to play, or a spot to enjoy nature.
