I ordered the Good Morning Breakfast Bap which is a square sausage, egg and bacon in a bap and I have to say it's the best I've ever had. Perfect. Wouldn't change a single thing about it. The chai could have been better, a bit thicker for my taste but still nice. The staff were wonderful and let us sit in before they had fully opened to get out of the cold. The interior is very modern and trendy, and the fairy lights add a lovely touch. Very pleased with this place yet again!

I've yet to find a better place in Falkirk to enjoy a beer outdoors and I'm going to miss it now that Autumn is starting to make itself more and more obvious. Eventually, we headed inside one lunchtime to try the food. Inside, Johnston's does just as good a job. It;s light and airy, there's plenty of seating (including some upstairs above the bar). We got comfy at a table and chose from their lunch menu. I ordered the fish and chips while my partner went for the steak pie. The fish and chips was enormous. I had thought, since this was the lunch menu, that it would be a slightly more moderate portion. Not that I'm complaining because it was also delicious. My partner loved his steak pie too. They run a loyalty card (although it's new and I'm not sure the system totally works as it eventually will). They offer cocktails and seem proud of their wine list, but they also offer good coffee and cake, as well as their own home made tablet. They cater to groups and parties and they run offers throughout the week, like two main meals for £7.99 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So far, as far as I can tell, Johnston's is doing everything right.

It's located right in the heart of town just across from the shopping center. Parking was pretty easy in the lot across the street. We happened to walk in at the right time. There were only a few other guest already inside. But once we were seated, minutes later the place started to trickle with people coming in and ended up full. There was a good amount of us which two tables were already situated together. The restaurant itself isn't that big. Two side, main is where the counter and kitchen is with a smaller dining area. The other is mainly dining. The counter was where all the fresh pastries were on full display. Let me say, they all looked amazing and some were ordered to try before we even had our meal. Dessert first obviously. Menu wise, there was a mixture of everything. Started off with a pot of tea and an ice tea. Asked for a slice of lemon which they didn't have. Odd as it's a restaurant. Anyways, main was the Antonio which is your traditional breakfast with a few other items added. Fried eggs, smoked bacon, sausage links, haggis, black pudding, sautéed mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, hash brown, halloumi and served with toast and butter. It was quite good. Toast was pretty massive for the two slices. Everything was quite tasty and flavorful. Th service was quite nice. Staff were all pretty friendly which is a plus. Dessert was amazing especially their raspberries blondie. Overall we enjoyed our meal.

It's a beautiful space complete with daffodils and comfortable tartan chairs. The staff were all pleasant and attentive, and happy to answer my questions! I ordered a chai latte to go, and the waiter checked if I wanted it with or without a shot of coffee. Yes my initial instinct is to bristle when someone suggests coffee in chai but I'm glad they Asked and gave me the option. The take away cups are nice and recycled, but I did burn my tongue on the drink...boo. An hour or so later I returned for lunch. I was very happy with my decision. I ordered a Brie and cranberry panini and asked for extra bacon. We shared a portion of chips. The chips were perfect. Skin on, a little on the dry side rather than oily which was really nice and they came with a side of garlic mayo. The panini was fabulous. Just what I wanted. The Brie was creamy and just the right amount of cranberry. My second chai latte of the day was very tasty. They make it with syrup so it is a bit on the sweet side, but very nice none the less. They do offer Gluten and Dairy free too! Both with soups and sandwiches, then also with cakes! I was advised that the afternoon tea offer they have also comes with gluten and dairy free options! Just make sure to let them know if you book. Overall, very happy with this find! I foresee it becoming a regular. Be sure to check it out if you're in the area.
