Omorphia did not disappoint in bringing the flavours of Greece flooding back! On the corner of Bellshill Main Street is not the place you'd expect to find an authentic Greek restaurant, but don't let that put you off. Inside the decor is standard, nothing special, but the food does the talking. Whilst looking through the menu, we were brought some lovely fresh bread, butter, olives and some oil and balsamic (which we duly inhaled). I could've ordered everything as it all sounded so delicious. I started with 'Pastourma' - Greek village sausage with a Mango salad. The sausage its self was spicy and quite dense, similar to a chorizo. It was delicious and paired beautifully with the unusual combo of Mango salad. For main, myself and my 2 friends all went for the Lamb Gyros. The lamb was absolutely meltingly tender. The pitta was doused in oil and Greek herbs and was sooooo tasty. Served with Tzatziki (oh the Tzatziki!!!!) and salsa, it was so authentic and delicious! I couldn't finish it, although I truly wanted to! We had sides of Tzatziki with dip, which I love anyway, but this was just extra special. So creamy and garlicky and just divine. We couldn't possibly fit in puddings, but they do a small Greek selection. The only thing that could have improved my meal was a round of Mythos (being pregnant this wasn't to be :(! But I cannot wait to go back and get my next Greek fix!!

Food was amazing, house wine was lovely. Restaurant was quite quiet but had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. Just make sure you save room for dessert.

The food we had that afternoon was wonderful. The staff were wonderful as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant and yes I would come back again and again. We went for lunch about 1.30ish on Friday afternoon. It was really busy but luckily there was a table free. The lunch menu is £14.50 for 2 courses and I thought it was really good value. The food was sublime (not what you would expect in Uddingston!). I had a Butternut Squash Veloute with a poached egg and some a parmesan twill. Watching all the food programmes going, I had saw this made a few times and always wanted to try it. It was soooo good. Basically it is just a fancy soup but the beautiful poached egg and the veloute were so delicious and creamy. I then had slow braised beef with mash potatoes, glazed vegetables and gravy. There was a huge portion of delicious soft beef. The mash was creamy and yummy. All in all, it was one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. We then shared a Banana sticky toffee pudding as we were too full to have one each. The sponge was lovely and soft and the bananas were caramelised on top. Truth be told, I could have probably ate this myself looking back. Staff were lovely and attentive. I never tried any wine but they had an extensive list. Go here if you want amazing food at a reasonable price.

Pietruccio's in Hamilton is without a doubt one of my favourite restaurants. I've been 5 or 6 times…read moreand every time I go I feel more and more welcome by Pino, the owner. It's one of the most authentic Italian restaurants I've been to, without a doubt, and it's because of Pino's exquisite style of old school Italian cooking. The service is always absolutely perfect; friendly, welcoming and warm, without being in your face. Even though I think Pino should have a restaurant that can seat 1,000 with this quality food, the restaurant is very small and only has about 10-15 tables. Topping everything off with an extensive wine menu, and a full bar, I see no faults with this place. The menu is brand new every day because Pino only makes meals that day using the ingredients he has. I love this aspect because every time I've been the menu has been so different, as it changes with the seasons and with the chef's mood. You can order from the menu normally, e.g. starter, main, dessert, but every time I've been I've gone for the gourmet tasting menu. This is a 7 course meal consisting of 3 starters, a pasta main, a fish main, a meat main, and a trio of desserts, all very small in size. For £25.95 it's absolutely fantastic. This evening as always, I chose the tasting menu. The most exciting aspect is you don't get to choose what you're having; Pino does. So even if you went two days in a row and the menu was the same, you could have 7 different things. Tonight's 3 starters consisted of Smoked Duck Salad, Grilled Asparagus in oil and vinegar, and Stuffed Aubergines. Absolutely heavenly. Our pasta main course was Tortelloni with Ham and Black Truffle in a Creamy Sauce. The fish was Salmon alla Romana, and we had an Aberdeen Angus Fillet, cooked rare to perfection, for our meat main. Without a doubt the best steak I've ever tasted. The trio of desserts consisted of homemade apple cake, homemade dark chocolate mousse, and a selection of berries drizzled in maple syrup. This place is absolutely outstanding, and despite the fact it's not in the city centre, I would definitely advise making a point to get out to this place for a meal. You definitely would not regret it!

The service was also friendly and attentive, could not have been better. Wine list reasonably pricey but for the 4 of us the final bill was £140 which was excellent value. Definitely worth the trip from Glasgow to Hamilton. Can't wait to go back.

He had booked the Mezzaine level which is a private area which accomodates 30 people. Now to try and book this is near enough impossible as it's always fully booked so I would book well in advance. You also have to lay down deposit, I looked into this a couple of years ago for my birthday but it was too much hassle. The meal was for 7.30 and I arrived about 20 past 7 but the main table was full and only holds 24, so the 6 left had to sit at tables for 2. My man and I felt really left out. Others felt bad for us and said if advertising for 30 it should be a table for 30, which I totally agree. It was a set 3 course menu for £19.95. The first course of soup was the only meal I enjoyed. Now I've been here many times for meals and always had a really good meal and experience. We were always served last and the waitress used our table to set down some of plates while she was serving. That felt awkward and horrible, we thought she was serving us but she was like "Oh yours will be here soon, just using your table for now while I'm serving." "Eh cheers!" And being last meant the food was cold. Was truly disappointed in my fav dessert of apple pie and custurd. Yuck! I think they had flavoured it was something weird too and it wasn't cinnamon, which I love. After a while people starting leaving so we were able to sit at the table later but we still felt like outsiders mussling in, so needless to say we didn't stay long. I prefer the restaurant downstairs, again you need to get in early to book at table or wait using a buzzer system. I also like the bar just sitting having a few drinks. The quiz on a Thursday night is ok but the DJ tends to talk to people he knows over the mic all the time, so you're getting a one sided conversation that you haven't got a clue what he's on about. Hopefully when I go back it'll be a better experience.
